One was sitting doing nothing but completely ignored me -- I assumed he was on break. Then a man walked in after me, and that same stylist immediately stood up and began cutting his hair without ever acknowledging me. I didn't want to cause a scene, so I stayed quiet, hoping one of the others would help. But the second stylist who is almost done with his client, instead of helping me, also avoided me and asked me to wait for the third person as if no one actually wanted to cut my hair. At that point, I felt so unwelcome and uncomfortable that I had to leave. I don't know if it was because I'm a woman, or because I'm Asian, or something else -- but I felt ignored, dismissed, and discriminated against.

She spent the whole time talking and looking at her coworker, and I kid you not there were moments where she was buzzing my sides and not even looking at me. Man... this past Saturday messed me up with Orlando. I went in for a basic clean-up and left…read morefeeling like I didn't even recognize myself. My beard something I've been growing for over a year and a half gone. Not because I wanted to cut it, but because the barber dropped the line way too low and reshaped it like it was his face, not mine. It wasn't just the beard either. The haircut felt rushed. Uneven in spots. No real care to my natural lines. Just clip, push, and move on. I had to come home, stare at myself in the mirror, and make the call to shave the whole beard off..not because I wanted to, but because it looked so off it didn't even feel worth trying to fix. Sometimes it can be uncomfortable walking into a barbershop of all men but Orlando was very friendly and accommodating. I told him I wanted to keep my length but clean up my edges with a taper and he did exactly that. He knew exactly what I wanted and gave me a sharp cut without looking masculine. Thanks, Orlando!
