Great Barber and Friendly People. They did a great haircut, I would highly recommend!

I have been a customer of Henry's Barber Shop for close to 20 years and I wouldn't want to go to anyone else! It's a family run business where the service is always exceptional and I always feel that when I walk in I may be tired and haggard looking, but when either Jay or Justin have finished working their magic, I feel years younger and I'm rejuvenated. And according to my wife, I look pretty darn good (she is only referring to my haircuts)! Recently I began growing a beard and I am loving the hot towel treatment that I'm getting every time I come in for a trim! These barbers know what they are doing and having their expertise at work on my face and my hair keeps me feeling fantastic. This traditional (yet modern) barbershop has been the only place I've ever received a haircut for the past 34 years...and I've never been disappointed. Henry's is a Scarsdale institution; with history and a vibe that is unmatched in the area. They are clearly breathing new life into the place; they got rid of the weak hair cutters and painted the place. It's lively and more contemporary. Jay and Justin, the father and son team, are the busiest barbers in the shop. All of them are good. They give a good shave and are great with kids. read more

Worst barber I've ever visited. Went to the hardware store this past Saturday around 9am and stopped by coz they were empty. I was seated on the last chair and the barber who cut my hair must be sleepy or zoned out coz a) everytime I said do this or don't do that, he claimed he didn't hear me, b) it was very obvious that he didn't know how to use scissors. Worst experience. Would advise you to go to Heathcote Barber instead. read more

The worst haircut I've ever received. Jay is great to talk to and all, but that alone can't excuse the utter abomination of a haircut he gave me. I wish it was as small as "I really just didn't like it," but no, this haircut was OBJECTIVELY bad. I'm talking uneven cuts, random patches of longer hair, and overall way shorter than I asked. Never in my life have I felt the need to go back to the barber and ask them to fix my hair. This time it felt necessary, but again I was wholly disappointed. As much as I want to support local businesses these days...I cannot in good conscience recommend getting a haircut here. read more

They used to give me a decent haircut at an reasonable price. Beware though, while some barbers at Henry's were alright, there was one guy (an older man on the last seat) who was notorious for cutting hair diagonally, and giving crooked haircuts. I've come to Henry's twice now for a haircut and I will keep coming back for as long as I live in the area. It feels like you're stepping back into the 1930s with the decor, and as a family run business it's got a great vibe. The barbers are friendly and do nice work. A real, convenient, and fairly priced barbershop. First four seats have all given me fantastic haircuts. Don't make the mistake of having Ceasar cut your hair unless you're willing to wear a hat for the next six weeks. Also, whatever you do, don't make the mistake of stopping next door at the horrible Scarsdale Hardware store unless you have a year or two to wait to get fleeced by a guy with a terrible attitude. read more

I'm just back from my 3rd haircut with Janis. The review which states:"don't let Janis touch your hair" is completely misguided. Janis gives a terrific, careful haircut. She's very sensitive to the patron's wishes, and is very thorough. In addition, she's a very pleasant individual. I can recommend her without reserve. read more
