It sits right on a two-lane coastal "highway," barely 1/4 mile from Lake Michigan, but would just as likely be found in some backwater Alabama swamp (not an insult, just an ambience). They have a small deli in the back and the young unassuming young guy making pizzas and other baked goods. He seemed nice, albeit so what suspicious. There was also a quintessential old farmer-type playing lottery scratch-offs by scratching off the barcode without actually playing the game on the front, then communicating with the cashier woman on a first name basis (Sarah). What a weird experience. I'm always interested in the colorful characters these tiny little towns and their stores. The pizza? Some of the best I've found south of Holland. The sauce had a hint of sweetness, and the crust had a couple of semi burnt bubbles that added to the delicious crunch of the crust. The taste may not be worthy of a five, but certainly a Midwest tiny-town-in-the-middle-of-nowhere five, and certainly worth a visit for pizza, miscellaneous baked goods... or beer, wine, and lottery.

They still sell candy, hot food, and convenience store items. They added things like milk, eggs, ravioli, little things if you need to just duck in and out. However, the prices are unreasonable. They just buy milk from marketplace ($2.50 a gallon) and mark it up to $4-$5 and resell it. Since they close at 7 PM now, you are better off just going up to Marketplace to get milk, eggs, or hot deli food (deli closes around 8:45). The food is still Gordon Foods products heated up in the oven, and left under a heat lamp for a few hours. I decided to get some curly fries, and regretted it right away. Limp, chewy, cold, and dry all the way through. No refund. The girl on the register was obviously in training, but was getting no help from the manager. She had to run my debit card 4 times, I did not get a receipt. I'll be keeping an eye on my bank account. Despite getting cleaned up, it's become a mess.

when i worked at this ice cream shop 3-4 years ago, we didn't turn away any costumers. if they were…read morein line, they were served. the 3 girls who were working mother's day evening were incredibly snobby and honestly seemed quite lazy. first it started off with one of them approaching a customer and directing her to turn away any customers who came in after her. second was the sloppy serving of the ice cream and the excessive eye rolling as new customers approached and were not turned away by the customer who was told to do so. not only did they ask one customer to turn people away, they then asked a second. this time they had this customer tell the new people in line (who were there for at least 10-20 minutes) they couldn't get ice cream because the were closed. there were still multiple people still in line and their open sign was still on.
