I love flowers. I love the bursts of color they give rise to after an awful and seemingly perpetual winter. I love all the different varieties they come in. I love getting a whiff of them I walk past someone's yard. I love giving them. I love getting them even more. However, I recognize that they are going to die. Pretty quickly, actually. Especially when you remove them from the ground. And because of this, I have no idea WHY people pay outrageous prices for bouquets that are going to be rotting in someone's trash can in a week. So when I'm feeling in the giving mood, I try to go someplace I know will meet my price criteria. Johnny's Florist is a real find in an area where my only other option is the flower department at the A&P. You can simply walk in, tell them how much you want to spend, and they will create a bouquet that fits your budget. I have literally said, "I need something between $10-$20" and they have given me a beautiful arrangement for $15. Johnny's only gets 3 stars because going there around a holiday is a pretty unpleasant experience. They totally jack up their prices - I purchased a bouquet for my mom's birthday for $20 and went back two weeks later for Mother's Day to find that the EXACT SAME ARRANGEMENT now cost $50. The staff is also not the friendliest, so dealing with them when the store is packed on some flower-giving holiday is not always fun. If you go any time of year, you'll definitely be satisfied. read more

I was a walk-in when I first used them and Theresa generously and patiently listened to a very exacting description of what I wanted to take with me that morning, and what she pulled together was even better than what I had in mind to bring to St. Mary's Cemetery, so I've re-ordered ever since and am a huge fan and their prices are fair and the flowers are fresh and beautiful. I had to write this review because I think that this florist is so underrated. Teresa is amazing! She did my flowers for me many years ago, so I had to use her again for my wedding this past weekend. My bouquets for my October 5th wedding were nothing short of stunning! The centerpieces were also gorgeous! I showed her a picture of what I wanted originally and she not only almost exactly replicated it, it by far exceeded anything I could've expected. The colors of deep red roses, oranges, green berries, wine colored flowers, mango colored lilies, and some flowers I've never seen before that were stunning and looked like velvet were breathtaking. They went so beautifully with my fall colors and rustic theme. She works with your budget and is so affordable that I can't believe more people don't realize this hidden gem right here in Yonkers. I know most people flock to the more well-known flower shops in Westchester but there's no reason to spend that much! Go see Teresa for flowers that far exceed your expectations and fit right into your budget, whatever it may be. I will use Johnny's florist for all my floral needs forever. We went to Johnny's to try and save money on flowers for our wedding of 275 guests b/c everyone says it's one of the biggest wastes of money, but you do need something. Honestly, it was the best thing we did. Not only did we pay "reasonable" prices but everything looked wonderful, arrived on time (no easy feat as our wedding was on the beach in Long Island), and was set up so smoothly. Theresa was unbelievable and so nice. If you are looking to be pampered because you are a bride then go to one of those fancy flower shops and pay up the wazoo for the same stuff. 100% recommend. i am giving johnny's florist 0 stars. today i was so happy to buy flowers for someone special to me and once i walked in and said hello for some service no one responded. the lady with black hair that works there said: what can i do for you? she didn't greet me, she didn't ask me if i wanted to make an arrangements of flowers, she was talking to me very aggressively, and she didnt ask me what color ribbon i wanted to match the flowers. the customer service was horrible and i will never go back there again. they will not get my service. i spoke to the owner and he brushed off what my concerns and horrible service as a customer. i never experienced that any other florist store. i will never go back there again. the lady with the black hair also laughed at me when i said im leaving. laughed. she laughed at a customer. how is that proper customer service. that showed me that she didnt care and was very disrespectful to me as a customer. first time going there and i will never go back again. I am happy i went to another florist so gave me great service and this place did not receive my service. that worker with the black hair is very rude and has no RESPECT! read more

I recently ordered 2 arrangements (for 2 families) from Johnnys Florist for a wake. They are not my usual florist, but a neighbor mentioned having a good experience, so I ran in. Customer service was fine and I left feeling confident. I was very specific about the flowers I wanted, those I did not, and had even brought sample photos. What I got were dead flowers that the funeral director had to place in the very back of the room. One of the standing arrangements was not even close to what we had discussed. I went to Johnny's on Thursday last week seeking Calla Lillie's. Johnny's is usually where I go and have been pleased in the past with their service and the their flowers. The young girl suggested it would be best to come back Saturday as I needed them for Sunday. I went back Sunday morning, and there was an older woman there who was busy preparing a basket and clearly acted as if she had no time to help me. When I said to her I see you still have Calli lilles here, she said they were no good which I was glad of that. She had some purple roses which I could work with but she was so rude I decided to leave as it was clear she did not need my business. I ended up going to 3 other places before ending up at Bed of Roses on central avenue which was a marvelous experience! Johnny's leaves little to be desired with their unfriendly attitude and terrible parking. After years of loyalty I am done with them. read more
