I have been with Dr. Willis for 20 years and have found him to be responsive to my needs. I transitioned to Medicare without any issues.

The worst and traumatic experience I ever had. I made an appointment with a gynecologist who ended…read moreup leaving before my appointment. They informed me then asked if I wanted to keep my appointment but with a Physicians Assistant instead. I agreed and regret it. Before I share the trauma, let me tell you that a young guy took me into the room and gave me items to undress and put on. After he left out and I was trying to undress, he came into the room TWO TIMES without waiting for me to say "Come in!". He would literally knock while opening the door. I swear it seemed like he was doing it on purpose because his reasons were not urgent and were unnecessary. Now for the pelvic exam: The pelvic exam was traumatic as she didn't even know where to put it. She brought a male into the room to assist her without asking me (when I went through all that trouble to find a female doctor). After I asked for the male to leave the room, she got a bit upset then brought in a female. Throughout the painful exam, she had to talk the female through every step, even "put on your gloves" as if the female had never been in the medical field or wasn't supposed to be there. After the pelvic exam, she told me I would experience some bleeding. I told her that out of the 30+ years of annual Gyn exams, I never experienced bleeding OR pain. That right there confirmed that she didn't know what the hell she was doing, and it was the worst pain I ever experienced. It literally felt like she went into my urethra instead. While checking out, I found out that the female she brought in the exam room was the desk clerk. Then the male had the nerve to call me a few days later to give me my results. Again, it was uncomfortable for me to have this male in my medical files and business. Seriously, he couldn't be more than 18 or 19 on top of that. That is still teen. I asked for information to their portal to see my results, and he put me on hold for a long time then hung up. PLEASE GO ELSEWHERE. When they say to support black businesses, please still maintain your standards. Expect the same thing from them as you would from anyone else. Your health is not anything to be practicing on. All of Black people don't know what we're doing. So, don't assume. A week later, I was still in pain. Other than that, the PA was nice. Clueless but nice.

However her office manager is awful, very condescending and impatient. The practice is also overly reliant on a cantankerous patient portal that stinks, and for online payment they only accept f'n PayPal, not credit cards. Last fall she announced she would no longer accept most major medical insurance like Blue Cross PPO. I spoke with the doc about her decision and her move to a prepay or semi concierge model. She doesn't have the customer service background to handle that correctly but she was adamant that she couldn't live with the finances of the funds provided thru insurance. Her new office rates were exorbitant so I moved on to a new Endocrenologist.

Katherine Pederson, DO, MS 1757 Broad Park Cir N #201,…read moreMansfield, TX 76063 Family practice physician I advise anyone using katherine Perderson to review your billing and make sure your insurance was billed for what was actually performed. I was hoping the manager of the facility in mansfield would call me back again how she said she would, so we could resolve this issue. (But after the first call i have not heard back. )Simply because "the doctor" says they performed something doesn't make it true. There was no thorough investigation done. This billing issue was dismissed way too quickly. Anyone can be "nice" and willing to listen, but there actions after is what pushed me to write this review and make others aware. 1. Appointment was made for a first visit that they said was mandatory to establish a relationship. When we arrived to apt. We specifically stated to several employees before being called to the back no physical exam was going to be done. Weight was taken, lungs were heard, blood was drawn. Doctor Katherine advised to schedule physical soon on the next visit. Before leaving the office they told me doctor katherine had changed the visit code and billed for yearly physical. Which they also looked confused as to why. No one had answers. I had to wait till manager called later that day. I told the manager We were told several times by several employees it was just a first visit to establish relationship. And $10 copay was charged, manager did refund after I first spoke with her. But the $10 is not what bothered me it was the doctors actions. All I wanted was for them to code the billing correctly or actually perform a thorough physical exam and any professional that cares would. But instead was told that the doctor may not be a good fit for us. And that she was attesting she did perform it. So they couldn't do anything about it. After talking more with manager, she said she had to talk to katherine again and would call me back the next day. I waited until about 1pm and called them since i had not recieved a call. And was told manager was in a meeting. She advised the employee assisting me to read off the notes. I didnt think that was professional. The employee said she would have manager call me back. I was expecting a solution of either billing code correction or a thorough physical exam performed, not the bare minimum. Which just really makes me sad. In person the doctor seems great it's the behind the scenes actions like billing that I don't understand how a doctor can take advantage of patients like that. If what she did was a physical she definitely did the bare minimum required to get away with coding the visit as a physical. So please review your bills, it's something that most of us don't normally do and just pay. Or we don't look because it's covered by insurance, without realizing our insurance is paying for things we didn't even have done.

Dr. Pederson is a wonderful person and doctor. I would describe her as old school, where the…read moredoctors got to know you and treated you as a person and not just as a chart number. She sits with you and talks to you and makes you feel comfortable. It also doesn't feel like a typical doctor's office where you can't relax and you feel on edge the whole time. A lot of times doctors rush in and out and you feel like they listened to you. She's listening and she's taking it all in and she cares deeply. I would say I highly recommend her, but it's a catch-22. With writing this review I think she's wonderful, but at the same time I like being able to get my appointments with her. Also, my 11-year-old daughter sees her and just loves her. We followed her from Midlothian because neither one of us wanted to find a different doctor. She's just so great.
