Oysters on the half shell and cheese crab dip,
    Christina V.

Casual attire with fine dining menu. The food was amazing, and the staff was extremely friendly. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the crab dip was an unexpected delicacy. Can't wait to go back!

Named for the man himself who donated the land. Really nice marina with a clean, free parking lot and well-maintained grounds. Lots of room for boats and trucks in the lot, along with free life preservers if needed. There are stone tables with benches on the lawn viewing the ocean, along with some separate benches. A lovely view out to the water. Easily accessible by boat coming from Canada, Seattle and the San Juans.

    Indeed.

One of the best steaks I've ever had. I'm a retired chef who worked in the restaurant and catering industry for 2 decades

Beautiful Marina and a nice place to walk with your dog. Clean bathrooms and the restaurant serves delicious clam chowder and fish & chips.

I can't believe others have rated this place highly. They must have extremely low expectations …read more First off, the started hours say they are open until 1630 but in fact they close at 1615. Over $65 for a guest slip which was difficult to reserve at the kiosk due to a terrible system combining a parking kiosk, a paper list of available slips, and no obvious way to pay for power which is course cost extra. To add to this less than stellar experience, they have a porta potty that, as they generally are, was absolutely disgusting and not well maintained at all. Took forever to find the slip. Nothing is well labeled, no obvious map at the fuel pump, and the least intuitive numbering schema I've ever witnessed. Two other boaters I kept passing were just as lost having to make unnecessary maneuvers while searching for their assigned slip. Epic fail. I wouldn't dock my boat there again if it were sinking and that was the only way to save it.

We spend the weekend here working nonstop and felt very safe and secure here. There are many restaurants and convenience stores nearby for everyday grabs. I'd give a 4 but our bed frame was so noisy we were praying each time we got in/out or rolled over…read moreit wouldn't collapse! We were in cottage #3 in the middle of the 6 units. Our room was the smallest I believe at $175 a night, kinda pricey but you are facing the awesome bay views and can walk the beach with the stair access right across the street. They allowed dogs $35 per night extra so that was another perk. It was all self contained with kitchen but the fridge was an inconvenient mini fridge yet a full size stove/oven & microwave. The queen bed is also in the small room. Bathroom was tight with no shelves to unpack makeup/personals, no tub just shower. It did have a carport with bench and table/chairs for warmer weather. It did have a huge nice tv although tricky to use. There was a none big lawn area behind the cottages that offered hot tub, toys, bbqs, fire pits and kayaks etc to rent w/ life jackets. We were basically alone for the 4 nights, only saw one staff member on first day. Internet worked fine. They include a kierig w/ k-cups which was nice. I was wishing I'd brought paper plates as they just had 2 heavy ceramic plates but had most basic necessities for cooking and eating, even spices, paper towels, dish and hand soap plus toothbrushes. Overall it was pleasant stay, just tight quarters, a bit pricey and noisy bed.

Dungeness Bay Motel gets 5 stars from me ... filled in and glittered over with a kiss on top…read more I've been a guest for several years. Although there are many newer, more luxurious, and more amenity-rich properties in Sequim and Dungeness, the simple charm of this property and the kindness of the hosts (John and Karin) keep me coming back. Situated like sets of side-by-side duplexes, the guest rooms are cozy and super clean. There are televisions, free wi-fi, and full kitchens but no telephones. Each cottage has its own parking space and carport for your car and bicycles. There is a pasture behind the property where cows currently graze amid the backdrop of the Olympic mountains. The front of the property are panoramic views of incredible sunsets, the bay, the Dungeness Spit, the Strait of Juan de Fuca, British Columbia, the San Juan Islands, and on and on. There is a nice bbq on the property that's available for guests to share. At night, it's pitch black and dead silent. The beauty of this respite from urban assaults on the senses can take getting used to by folks who have forgotten how magical this type of stillness is. I love nighttime walks with flashlight looking for deer. Deer are everywhere, literally, day and night. John and Karin are excellent resources for places to go and things to do if you're new to the area. They're honest and discriminating and won't steer you to a place just because it's popularly touristy; if it's not good, they'll tell you so and give better recommendations. I love this place!

La Conner Marina is a great place for boaters and visitors…read more The marina features extensive covered moorage on 8 docks, two large guest docks, clean and comfortable restrooms, large laundry facility, two pumpout machines (one on each guest dock) and expensive outdoor/lawn/picnic space. Most of the slips feature finger piers on both sides of the boat, making this a very desirable location for covered moorage. As such, expect a long waitlist that could have you waiting for two or three years. Plenty of parking even when they host large events like the 4th of July celebration. Staff is friendly, courteous and very responsive to inquiries and issues. I haven't reviewed the RV park, as I haven't stayed there, but as a casual observer, the park is clean, reasonably lit without being too bright, close to the restrooms and laundry, and a short walk from town.

The first weekend was last summer, and the second one was this past weekend when we "glamped" there to once again meet up with friends who were docked at the marina for the weekend. The RV park is definitely no frills. The sites are close together, the trees are few and far between, and the sites don't include picnic tables or firepits. But they are all full-hookup, the park is well maintained and quiet, and you can't beat the sweet streets of downtown La Conner being just a quick walk (or even quicker drive) down the street. There's also a bathhouse with toilets and showers, all of which were immaculately clean. (You can get the door code from the campground host at RV Site #1.)
