Will helps us out in a pinch once again!…read more Coming off of a difficult week with one of our kids being in the hospital, we discovered our basement a/c no longer worked. We called Will, and he made time to come out the next evening. He was able to easily diagnose the problem as a blown capacitor and fixed it at a very reasonable price. We were up and running with a working a/c that same night! Will also remembered some of our other ongoing needs, with another aging a/c on our house and issues with our duplex rental. He is so knowledgeable and truthful when he talks to us about options. Having used his services many times, we trust him when he says if something is an easy fix or needing something more expensive. He is the service pro everyone should have saved in their phone. So lucky to have found him!

From the very beginning, he took the time to listen, answer my questions thoroughly, and explain things that no other company took the time to explain. Last summer, I was told I needed to replace my HVAC system before this summer because it uses R-22. Naturally, that was stressful and felt like a huge unexpected expense. When Will came out, he carefully inspected the system and then walked me through the facts. He explained that as long as the unit is working properly, there's no need to replace it just because it uses R-22. He also clarified that refrigerant doesn't need to be added unless there's a leak (contrary to what I had previously been told about it needing regular refills). At no point did he try to upsell me or pressure me into replacing something that still works. Instead, he focused on what was actually necessary and in my best interest. That level of integrity is rare and incredibly appreciated. It's clear he genuinely cares about his customers and values doing the right thing over making a quick sale. I truly can't recommend him highly enough and will absolutely continue to use and refer him in the future.

The short answer: I highly recommend KLM Heating & Cooling for their honesty, integrity and…read morecustomer service. Detailed Review First point of contact: My KML story started with an after hours call for a gas valve leak. They offered to come out that night but I opted to wait until morning since I had an old heater that needed parts to be ordered and nothing could be done that night anyway. Service call: The following morning Tony came out, found the leak and went over the cost of fixing it with me. As a person who knows nothing about HVAC systems and does not have a husband to help walk me through these decisions, I especially appreciated the extra time and effort he spent going over the pros and cons of fixing vs. replacing the unit. He then offered to call someone for a general price range to see if that was even an option I should explore. I decided it was worth exploring and asked for someone to come talk to me about my options. I was thrilled someone could come immediately. While waiting for the comfort specialist to arrive, Tony went above and beyond again by staying while I called my parents and helped me explain what was going on. At this point I felt safe with Tony. He remained objective throughout the entire process therefore proving he was trustworthy. He agreed to stay once more after Neil (the comfort specialist) arrived in case I decided to go the repair route. I really appreciate Tony's time and patience. Comfort specialist: Neil was equally amazing. I think he sensed the rapport Tony and I had developed because he didn't rush Tony back to KLM upon arrival. He included Tony in the conversation and then my parents on the phone again. It truly felt like a team decision, which I love. Neil took his time going over the one stage and two stage units, followed by the air purification systems, thermostat, and financing. Like Tony, Neil too was objective and patient as we weighed out the pros and cons of each option until a plan was in place for installation the very next day. For context, when I say "patient" Neil's job usually takes 30 minutes, he stayed with me for probably 2 hours. (In case you're wondering... No, I'm not THAT difficult customer. I am however a single mom of a child with multiple disabilities and health care needs, so I do have to exercise due diligence. Okay fine, honesty demands I acknowledge the fact I may also be a bit long winded at times. It's just that everyone was so nice and easy to talk to, I couldn't help it. Ugh, let's move on now shall we.) Now this is where I could go into the details of KLM's generosity, disability awareness, integrity, and any other adjective defining all that is right and compassionate in this world. I wish I had the brevity and eloquence to put into words how supported and appreciated these strangers made me feel. Sadly, I don't have the writing skills to do this story justice. If I tried, it would either sound like I was bragging, looking for pity or preaching about disability. Since I don't want to distract from their good deeds, I'll need you guys to just trust me on this one. These are honest, fair, good folks who care about more than making a buck. It's truly a faith in humanity story and a beautiful lesson on empathy that is theirs to share if they so choose. Install: Considering my experience with Tony and Neil the bar was set pretty high at this point. Realistically, I knew this high level of professionalism and customer service could only go so far. No company is perfect, they have to have a weak link somewhere, right? Wrong. Jermane, Dan and Justin came first thing in the morning. They were just as lovely as Tony and Neil. They put drop cloths down to protect my floors, and shoe coverings so they didn't track in mud. The conversations were meaningful and I learned alot about my HVAC system. Neil came by mid way through to check on things, make sure I didn't have any questions about the financing and pick up the down payment. They were almost finished by the time my son came home from school. All the guys were so nice to him. Jermane talked to him just like he was any other teenage kid. You would be surprised at how rare that is. Then they made his day as they honked their horns when they left. It sounded like a Covid birthday parade driving by and my kiddo (who also happens to be totally blind) was in heaven! Following up: Neil called to see if I liked my new 2 stage system. I did have some questions about the thermostat so the next morning Dan came back to make sure everything was online and the temperature was calibrated correctly. Everything is perfect and I am thrilled with the system so far. Summary: I would call them again. I would recommend them to all my friends. I look forward to seeing them next year for maintenance. I'm a KLM customer for life!

He even brought out the install manager to look at things to make sure they lined up with what we wanted. Crew was great as well. They kept us in the loop every step of the way. Property Damage Caused by Improper Installation of Emergency Sump Pump…read moreI am filing this complaint against Dauenhauer Plumbing regarding significant water damage to my basement that appears to have been caused by the improper installation of my emergency (secondary) sump pump by their company. On Sunday, March 8, 2026, I noticed that my main sump pump was running continuously without shutting off, which was abnormal. Because I had a newer emergency (secondary) sump pump installed as a backup, I unplugged the main pump to prevent possible damage and contacted Dauenhauer Plumbing to schedule an inspection for the following day. On Monday, March 9, 2026, at approximately 8:30 a.m., I heard an unusual sound coming from the sump pump area in my basement. When I investigated, I discovered water forcefully discharging from piping connected to what appeared to be the emergency (secondary) sump pump system. I immediately contacted Dauenhauer Plumbing, and a plumber arrived within approximately 30 minutes and stopped the water flow. According to the plumber who responded, the emergency (secondary) sump pump had been installed incorrectly. He also stated that he found nothing wrong with the main sump pump. He initially believed the discharge line might be clogged and cut the exterior line to inspect it, but there was no standing water in the discharge line. The plumber then stated that he believed the underground discharge line might be broken and offered to arrange excavation. Instead, I suggested a temporary above-ground discharge solution to move water away from the foundation. The plumber went to Lowe's, purchased flexible piping, returned, connected it, charged me for the materials and labor, and then left. As a result of this incident, my basement sustained water damage, including: Basement flooring saturated with water Drywall/sheetrock wet Insulation wet Possible defect or damage to the main sump pump I have photographs and video of the incident and damage. I have also contacted my homeowner's insurance company, State Farm, and they advised me to begin emergency mitigation with PuroFirst. That process is currently underway. I have made multiple attempts to contact management at Dauenhauer Plumbing regarding this matter and have not received a return call or meaningful response. Given the seriousness of the damage and the fact that their own plumber acknowledged the emergency sump pump had been installed incorrectly, this lack of response is unacceptable.
