I do not understand the negative reviews. My daughter has been seeing Dr. Tam for years. She has had arthritis in her feet since age 22. She is now 50. His office is 5 minutes from my home. He has always been in the same location. He must be doing something right. Now my son age 49 sees him. My daughter and son are both people who will leave a place if they are not happy with their care. My son has been going there over 4 years now. The Doctor also gives excellent recommendations for asian, chinese food. We are italians but love oriental food. DR. Tam should get at least 4.6 stars preferably 10 but the star scale stops at 5. Very disappointed with the service we received here. I called in the morning and got an appointment for 3 p.m. for my 97 year old mother. When she arrived there with her caregiver, the doors were locked. I had to call and ask them to open the door. At first they told me she did not have an appointment. Then they said that it was because the doctor wasn't back yet. She is a patient at this office but they wanted a new copy of her insurance information. They told me I could email it to them to jwtam@verizon.net. I did so but they apparently never received it. The receptionist finally agreed to use the same insurance card since nothing has changed. My mother has been there now 45 minutes waiting for them to take care of her. Hoping Dr. Tam will take good care of her. Will update post once I know. read more

I had to switch to Dr. Tam from my orthopedic podiatrist due to a work comp injury. He is very nice, but his office is stranded in time (1985ish). To visit an office with a spiral bound notebook for a sign in sheet doesn't give me confidence that my patient data is secure... He said he didn't think I tore a tendon in my foot (I had), and said he didn't want to recommend surgery (which two other doctors have done). A difference of opinion is fine, but when I called this morning to get MRI results back to take to a new specialist, I was informed my MRI report and CD wasnt in my file, and that meant it was probably locked in his office and unavailable. When I called back to ask that they make the disc available ASAP, it rang for 2 minutes and then I clearly heard the sound of the phone handset picking up and hanging up. Figured it was an error, tried again. Nope, same thing. So I'm guessing they don't want to give me my own records from another doctor, since I want to take them to someone else. Like I said, nice guy, but jeez it feels unprofessional here when it comes to your patient data. read more

I saw Dr Tam for my ingrown toenails- he removed them and I've had really good results. My toe nails look normal, I haven't had trouble with them since and it has been about 5 years. I did have trouble with the staff, they scheduled me for an office visit rather than the procedure itself when I had already done the evaluation, also I did have trouble getting through the phone lines. I called them one day when I noticed my sons toe had an ingrown nail. They did not hesitate to get us in the very next morning to see it. My son is transplant recipient and an infection is the worse thing in the world. Anyhow they took excellent care of him and the Dr and his staff were so caring and understanding with his sensitive situation and I fee he got the best care. I'm a picky mom and only want the best care for him and this team lives up to my standards. I highly recommend them and my Vinnie loves going to see them monthly. read more

The Office manager is Unprofessional, rude, and disrespectfull with customers. She Claims that Hipaa protects her from telling people what her last name is, when she finally divulged her name as Selma Tam, (must be the wife) she then hung up the phone with me. If an Office manager cannot handle complaints or problems with her husbands office, I beleive he needs a new Office Manager and get someone who knows what they are doing. My child needed medical attention, and did not receive it because of Office policy that makes no sense. So allowing a child to suffer due to an Office Policy, I'm a veteran who served 20 years and my family with me, being treated with disrespect and prejudice because of an office policy. ****I HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU FIND A DOCTOR WHO WANTS TO TAKE THE TIME TO SEE A PATIENT AND HELP, RATHER THAN DEAL WITH SOMEONE'S STUPID WIFE WHO DOESN'T UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MEDICAL HIPAA AND GIVING YOUR FULL NAME WHICH IS NOT PROTECTED UNDER HIPAA**. Took my son in for his broken foot. Dr. Tam never looked at my son's foot only at the x-ray which was taken 5 days before. Bed-side manner is horrible. Tam's office staff is extremely rude. When I called later that day to find our the status of the authorization his receptionist yelled at me, talked over me, and told me "I don't work for you, I don't work for your primary doctor, and I don't work for your insurance company! I work for Dr. Tam!!" I was stunned!!! I've broken a bone before and neither has my son, so I'm asking questions and getting yelled at by the doctor's receptionist (older Asian lady)!! Never go here!!!!!!! Spoke to Dr. Tam today about his office staff. He said he would talk to them. Then he has the nerve to start talking to me about Trump and his healthcare plan! He doesn't answer my questions about the authorization but starts talking crap about our insurance and how Trump is going to fix it all. What a joke!! Nobody likes heading to the doctor, and in my book, podiatrist rank just slightly above dentists on the list of doctors I dread seeing. Fortunately, Dr. Tam is an excellent podiatrist with an easy-going, active manner and a thorough approach to care guidelines. He'll let you know exactly what's going on and what you need to do to ensure a good recovery. I'm no podiatrist connoisseur, but if you have a foot problem and live in the Azusa/Glendora area, then Dr. Tam can take care of it. read more

I would give zero stars if option. Eery piece of furniture looks as if it was from a garage sale. Waiting rooms are filthy. Walls are stained with God knows what. Looks like a back alley drs office. I have been going to Dr. Tam for over a year now and ended up having to have surgery on my foot. I love having him as my doctor. Other than being a great doctor, he cares about his patients, he gets the patients in and out so there is not a lot of waiting. Dr. Tam is the man. I went in with a sore foot. He gave me a shot and 24 hours the swelling is gone and my foot is back to normal. His prices aren't too bad and he is willing to work with you. I currently don't have insurance, so he understood. He didn't want to prescribe me expensive medicine. He is also a very fun guy to talk to. I would definitely recommend him to anybody who is going through foot issues. read more

I've always had a terrible fungal problem for as long as I can remember (it runs in my moms side of the family) and its been something that is was so embarrassed of growing up. I finally decided to do something about it a year ago. I went to Dr. Tam who greeted in such a friendly and light hearted way about my greatest insecurity. He performed a procedure to remove my nail, gave me the proper medicine and care instructions and now a year later, my nail is completely healthy and I see him regularly to ensure it won't become infected again. I can truly say that the service I received here changed my life and I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking to take care of their feet/nail health. And Dr. Tam is so funny! read more

He explained everything about what he thought I had and every step of what he was doing. He is very friendly, makes you feel comfortable, and very gentle. Whoa! My foot is hurting bad so I go in and Dr tam ex rays it. He tells me he can't determine whether it's broke or not . Lol so OK I am in real bad pain so I ask him how much it's gonna cost me today .. he tells me 300 around I forget the exact number . He puts the cast on and when I'm walking out to do all the paper work they then tell me i owe them 500 almost 600!!! I said wait a minute you guys just told me 300 .. the rude lady at the desk tells me well Dr tam has added a few things more I had to pay ! This office is a real joke they give you appointments 2 days away from each other just to make more money ! someone should really look into this doctor !! Dr. Tam is amazing! I like that he try's different ways to correct foot issues without jumping right into surgery. His nurse and office staff are the best! He makes you comfortable and actually listens to your concerns. I would not go anywhere else for my podiatry issues. read more

This Dr. Doesn't deserve any star rating, unfortunately you can't write a review without one. DON'T see Dr. Tam, my sister had gone in for an ingrown toe nail and Dr Tam cut too much and now the nail won't grow back. She has to have a fake nail put on to fill the missing toe nail. read more
