Efficient, hard working, clean, and friendly. Just a few words to describe our time with John the Plumber. We were given an estimate from another company for our whole house re-pipe + water heater that just didn't seem fair and so my father-in-law called John the Plumber on our behalf to come give us a second opinion. John and his assistant Amber came out within a few days. Both were very friendly and made fast friends with my chihuahua and my daughter (9 months old). As they made their way around looking at what needed done, John was educating my husband and I the whole time. What needed done, why it needed done, history of the old pipes and quality of the new pipes. I never once felt concerned, panicked or confused because of John's explanations. After the numbers were presented it was a no-brainer to go with John the Plumber. John and Amber came out again to do the work. They were fast, but not lacking in care or detail. When they were done in one spot, they cleaned up and moved on to the next. At the end of their work they made sure everything was left better than when they arrived. If a problem arose, John was able to take a moment to design a way around it. My house is 96 years old, so he had to do this a few times. When the work was done, he made sure that my husband and I were satisfied, he walked us around as he tested all of the water, answered our questions if we had them. He assured us that if problems came up after he left that he was only a call away and he'd get here as soon as possible. I am fully and utterly satisfied with the work John and Amber did in my home. Let me say, John will be my first call if I ever need a plumber in the future. Being that my family owns 2 businesses I definitely will. He came the same day I called to fix a leak in the crawl space. The entrance to where I thought you get in was so small, and after happily crawling in there, he told me it doesn't go all the way through. He had to help me hunt around for the opening to the crawl space to access the point of the leak. After finding the entrance, he had to work with my employee to gain access to it since it was covered so well I didn't even know it was there. Finally, he got in and went to work resolving the leak very quickly. Answered the phone himself, came the same day, fixed the leak the same day, super friendly, and the price was right! One morning in my master bathroom shower I found little moths/larvae - that was fun. I did some poking around the internet and discovered I probably had a leaking shower drain/pipe that was creating moisture/puddles for the aforementioned bugs to spawn. I went down into my crawlspace (yes, I'm THAT homeowner) and indeed, there was a puddle underneath my shower pipe. I immediately called John and two other companies; John called back and said the problem was likely the drain (spoilers: he was right), but he'd come out and take a look at it. We set up a time and I tried to forget about the fact that I had BUGS LIVING IN MY SHOWER. On the appointed day John waltzed in, pet my dogs (who always think everyone is here to see them) then went into the bathroom and confirmed it was the pipe. He offered to fix it on the spot, to which I replied "yes! A million times yes!" (I also might have fallen to my knees praising God, but I can't be sure because it's been a few months now) So John went down into the crawlspace and fiddled around, then came back and proclaimed the job done. He wrote down a 1-year warranty on a business card, pet my dogs again and left. It really was painless - or at least, as painless as plumbing issues can be. This was a few months ago and I haven't seen a single bug in my shower since (bonus: my shower drain is now clean and sparkly, instead of old and gross). I'm actually writing this review late because right after the Great Shower Fiasco of 2016 there was another this-house-is-trying-to-fall-apart-AGAIN emergency that pulled my attention away from reviews (because there is ALWAYS something trying to fall apart/break/degrade in a house), but last week I had a house sitter who apparently managed to clog/break my main bathroom toilet to the point where I can't get it to unclog, even with vigorous plunging. (I.e. I immediately went searching for John and realized I never reviewed him from the first time around.) And while I really would prefer things in my house to just not break in the first place, if they have to I'm really glad to know I have a trustworthy plumber I can rely on. read more

Two representatives from John the Plumber showed up regarding one of my angle stops that was leaking. I work form home so after I showed them where the leak was I motioned to them that I'd be back in a minute. I think they did an assessment of the leak. I do not know because when I came back they had left. I walked outside because I thought they went outside to get the necessary supplies to fix the leak but I saw them in their truck leaving. Gave a competitive bid and they were able to complete the job on the spot. For reference I was having them redo my kitchen sink plumbing and fixing a copper pipe leak in my crawlspace. Had a great experience with John. I live out of state and have a rental property that was having an issue with the shower. Tenant could not shut the water off in the shower, had to shut off the water to the entire house. John went out the same day, fixed the problem and when I called to inquire he told me there would be no charge because it was an easy fix. I insisted on paying him something and will be using him in the future if the need arises. Lately I have needed the services of several different types of home repair to be disappointed every time until today. I have dealt with people just not showing up, giving a bid and me excepting the bid and then they just don't show up again. But this morning I called John The Plumber and he asked me to email him my address so I did and about a half an hour later I got a telephone call saying they were about 12 minutes from my house would I be home and I answered of course. They came in, they evaluated my problem and it was a minor problem thankfully. They fixed the problem in short order and explained that they would not be charging me. When I had called him this morning I fully expected them to come in and rip out a wall and tell me I had to pull up flooring because of the leak that I had inside the wall. I fully expected a bill of hundreds of dollars and I almost cried when they told me they weren't going to charge me. After being so thoroughly disappointed by both a painter and a carpenter I was absolutely amazed at the level of service and the level of commitment and in the end the absolute kindness. Awesome plumber. Had a leak at my cold water connection under the sink this holiday weekend and called to have John come and fix it. John wasn't available but had me take pictures of the problem and send them to him. He called me back and told me exactly what I needed to do to fix it. He Asked that I send pictures when I was done for him to see how it looked. Fixed the leak and had no problems. Saved me about $250. John the Plumber just finished installing a new shower and floor covering in my bathroom. Total cost roughly $1600 parts and $6400 labor. He was able to complete the job with the exception of painting and install of the shower door which is up to me to finish because John says shower doors are beyond his skill set. A shower curtain simply won't work with what he installed. He completed the work in 15 hours over the course of three days for an effective hourly rate of roughly $426/hour. Other people quoted between $5000 and $6500 for the same job but with installation of shower door included. However, I went with John even though his original bid was $8600 because I had been very happy with smaller jobs he did for me in the past and he had earned my trust. I thought there must be a reason his bid was so much higher because John has always been reliable and reasonable. On deciding not to replace the sub floor as originally planned he knocked $600 off the bill. In retrospect knowing what I know now I would have gone with the less expensive bid. Even though John had been a stellar performer in the past this experience was disappointing. John seems to shine on small emergency jobs. Unfortunately bathroom remodeling does not seem to be his strong suit. Hiring him for this job was a big mistake. This is the last job I will ask him to do for me. read more

I read the reviews and decided to book an appointment. My dishwasher was leaking and my kitchen faucet had a leak. Amber and a tech came out and ran the dishwasher. They said there was a hose laying unattached and they wanted to charge $545 to fix it. I said "no", I can buy a new washer for that price. They looked at the faucet and charged $258 to put in a new cartridge in the faucet to stop the leak. Later on that evening the faucet as leaking more than it was earlier. I called John the Plumber and talked to Amber. She said "I thought you were selling the house and only wanted a quick fix." I said no I wanted it fixed. She said "I thought I could fix it." I told her not only was it not fixed it was leaking worse than it did before. She said she could put the $258 toward an installation on a new faucet which was $325 and I had to buy the faucet. I said I wanted a refund because I did not get anything for the $258 I paid. She refused to refund my money. I called another plumber who fixed the dishwasher (it was an easy fix of putting the hose back in the slot) and installed an new faucet for free. He felt bad that I was ripped off by John the Plumber. I will file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau as well as filing in smalls claims court. I am also a federal employee and will place a complaint on JBLM so military personal are not ripped off by these con artists! SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!!! read more

John quoted $400 for a sink replacement, then stated it was $425 when the job was done. I checked my notes and the agreed upon price of $400 was clear. He hooked up the hot water hose to the cold faucet and vise versa costing me another plumber to redo his workmanship. He took out the garbage disposal with the sink and did not replace it - quoted me earlier on the phone as doing a like for like replacement - sink for sink, faucet for faucet, etc. However, This was a turnaround of an investment property so I did not realize there was a garbage disposal - a simple heads up call and I'd have paid him extra - like the $25 to re-hook up the garbage disposal. Boy, what a blessing that I found these guys! I just moved into a house that had multiple plumbing issues. After I was given an estimate of $4-6k to re-excavate the crawl space to eliminate sewer odor, I was given John's phone number. Very fast service. Jason was amazing as he moved from kitchen to bathroom toilet to shower. Turns out NO crawl space work had to be done. The problems were tackled and fixed within 6 hours.
