Amber and Curtis did a great job. They replaced one toilet, Fixed the second toilet's handle, addressed a sink and bathtub with issues as well as replaced laundry room pipes. So for the first time since moving to Puyallup I have hot water for my washing machine.. I am so grateful! They were so considerate and just so nice to work with! read more

Great Experience! Fair pricing, fast service, and quality work. They fixed my ceiling leak without overcharging. Highly recommend!

I was given their name by a friend of mine so I reached out and they quickly responded with an appointment, which they arrived on time. I showed the leaking toilet and was given a quote on the spot, it was fair so I agreed to move forward with the repair. This is a great small family owned business, that doesn't charge an arm and leg for repairs. My only complaint, if you call it that, is their business hours are limited. read more

I have hired John and Amber for several jobs. They are reliable, warm, friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. They get right to work and are straight forward with costs. I call them first every time. read more

They fixed my hose bib that had broken during a winter freeze. They came as promised, replaced the damaged valve. I'm happy with the cost, quality and timeliness. read more

I am a 75 year old widow. I called "John The plumber" to check my leaking outdoor faucet I was so surprised when John and Amber showed up the same day I called. They diagnosed the problem, which was only minor. They fixed it so it didn't leak, then only charged me for the service call. I highly recommend them. They made an old widow on a fixed income so happy. read more

I found John's number on a local community page. I am so glad I made that call! We called for a possible garbage disposal replacement. John and his assistant Amber were punctual, professional and most important they were honest! I have saved their phone number for any future issues. Highly Recommended. read more

Efficient, hard working, clean, and friendly. Just a few words to describe our time with John the Plumber. We were given an estimate from another company for our whole house re-pipe + water heater that just didn't seem fair and so my father-in-law called John the Plumber on our behalf to come give us a second opinion. John and his assistant Amber came out within a few days. Both were very friendly and made fast friends with my chihuahua and my daughter (9 months old). As they made their way around looking at what needed done, John was educating my husband and I the whole time. What needed done, why it needed done, history of the old pipes and quality of the new pipes. I never once felt concerned, panicked or confused because of John's explanations. After the numbers were presented it was a no-brainer to go with John the Plumber. John and Amber came out again to do the work. They were fast, but not lacking in care or detail. When they were done in one spot, they cleaned up and moved on to the next. At the end of their work they made sure everything was left better than when they arrived. If a problem arose, John was able to take a moment to design a way around it. My house is 96 years old, so he had to do this a few times. When the work was done, he made sure that my husband and I were satisfied, he walked us around as he tested all of the water, answered our questions if we had them. He assured us that if problems came up after he left that he was only a call away and he'd get here as soon as possible. I am fully and utterly satisfied with the work John and Amber did in my home. This is one of the easiest 5 star reviews I've written. I will be calling John the Plumber again for any plumbing needs that I have in the future! read more

Real professional without being stuffy. He actually talked me through a problem I had with an outside hose faucet and guided me on the corrective actions free of charge. Knowledgable and patient, I couldn't have hoped for a better experience and he saved me some serious money on repairs. read more

He asked me 'do you want the good news or the bad news?' To my relief there was no bad news! Or the 'bad news' didn't seem bad to me. Let me say, John will be my first call if I ever need a plumber in the future. Being that my family owns 2 businesses I definitely will. He came the same day I called to fix a leak in the crawl space. The entrance to where I thought you get in was so small, and after happily crawling in there, he told me it doesn't go all the way through. He had to help me hunt around for the opening to the crawl space to access the point of the leak. After finding the entrance, he had to work with my employee to gain access to it since it was covered so well I didn't even know it was there. Finally, he got in and went to work resolving the leak very quickly. Answered the phone himself, came the same day, fixed the leak the same day, super friendly, and the price was right! I highly recommend him. read more

Two representatives from John the Plumber showed up regarding one of my angle stops that was leaking. I work form home so after I showed them where the leak was I motioned to them that I'd be back in a minute. I think they did an assessment of the leak. I do not know because when I came back they had left. I walked outside because I thought they went outside to get the necessary supplies to fix the leak but I saw them in their truck leaving. It has been over a week and I have not heard back from them. I still do not know why they left. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! Today I had another company fix the problem and they actually did not charge me. read more

One morning in my master bathroom shower I found little moths/larvae - that was fun. I did some poking around the internet and discovered I probably had a leaking shower drain/pipe that was creating moisture/puddles for the aforementioned bugs to spawn. I went down into my crawlspace (yes, I'm THAT homeowner) and indeed, there was a puddle underneath my shower pipe. I immediately called John and two other companies; John called back and said the problem was likely the drain (spoilers: he was right), but he'd come out and take a look at it. We set up a time and I tried to forget about the fact that I had BUGS LIVING IN MY SHOWER. On the appointed day John waltzed in, pet my dogs (who always think everyone is here to see them) then went into the bathroom and confirmed it was the pipe. He offered to fix it on the spot, to which I replied "yes! A million times yes!" (I also might have fallen to my knees praising God, but I can't be sure because it's been a few months now) So John went down into the crawlspace and fiddled around, then came back and proclaimed the job done. He wrote down a 1-year warranty on a business card, pet my dogs again and left. It really was painless - or at least, as painless as plumbing issues can be. This was a few months ago and I haven't seen a single bug in my shower since (bonus: my shower drain is now clean and sparkly, instead of old and gross). I'm actually writing this review late because right after the Great Shower Fiasco of 2016 there was another this-house-is-trying-to-fall-apart-AGAIN emergency that pulled my attention away from reviews (because there is ALWAYS something trying to fall apart/break/degrade in a house), but last week I had a house sitter who apparently managed to clog/break my main bathroom toilet to the point where I can't get it to unclog, even with vigorous plunging. (I.e. I immediately went searching for John and realized I never reviewed him from the first time around.) And while I really would prefer things in my house to just not break in the first place, if they have to I'm really glad to know I have a trustworthy plumber I can rely on. read more

Found John on yelp and he was just as great as said to be. I called him at 8:30pm and he came out at 7:00 am and fixed our leaking shower. So generous, best plumber experience we've had!! Highly recommend him!! I'm a Realtor so I don't hand out referrals unless they are A+ Thank you John!! read more

John came over to fix our water heater and got it done quickly and correctly (the original installer had reversed the lines). He saved us hundreds of dollars and got our hot water back up and running in no time. Thanks John! read more

I called today to get a simple job fixed. He was busy and couldn't help immediately so he told me to take a picture and he would explain how to fix. He ended up saving me tons of money! John helped my husband via phone with a pipe issue. We sent him a picture of the damage and within 20 minutes John was able to tell my husband what he needed to fix the problem. My hubby got what he needed and was able to make the repair. Even better John called back later that night to make sure everything went okay. I will definitely call John again in the future if we ever need plumbing help :) read more

So based on other's recommendations from Nextdoor I had Amber and David from "John the Plumber" come out and they did a fantastic job. Very friendly and knew their stuff. Gave a competitive bid and they were able to complete the job on the spot. For reference I was having them redo my kitchen sink plumbing and fixing a copper pipe leak in my crawlspace. Being a veteran I also liked that it was a veteran owned business and they offer a military discount. Thanks again and will diffidently hire again if needed in the future. read more

John the Plumber has helped us out on three different occasions, for different issues. they are on time they work quickly and efficiently. No job is too small or large. I can't sing their praises enough. Very reputable. I highly recommend this business. read more

I called John with a problem he attempted to help me resolve over the phone. My lack of confidence entailed him to come by. Within 90 minutes he stopped by resolved My dilemma, when I asked how much, he refused compensation and said call me when you have a real problem. He told me what part to buy, where to purchase it and how to install it. He is the epitome of INTEGRITY and HONESTY a throwback to a bygone lost era. It's so refreshing to know that people like him still exist in the business world. Sorry I couldn't rate him higher than 5. Thanks John The Plumber read more

I've used them several times and they are always great. In and out quick and the prices are right! I find them honest and reliable and will use them every time I need a plumber. read more

I had John come out to look at my water heater. He quickly figured out the problem and said man I don't want to charge you for such a easy fix , so he told me how to fix it and I did and it worked! I mean who does that these days? It would have cost me a few hundred if I payed someone else. If I have any future problems I'll definitely go to him. He helped restore a little bit of faith I still have in humanity, highly recommended. read more

Had a great experience with John. I live out of state and have a rental property that was having an issue with the shower. Tenant could not shut the water off in the shower, had to shut off the water to the entire house. John went out the same day, fixed the problem and when I called to inquire he told me there would be no charge because it was an easy fix. I insisted on paying him something and will be using him in the future if the need arises. I couldn't recommend John more, he is an honest plumber who does not overcharge, which is a rarity in the plumbing business it seems. read more

John the plumbers is a name I will remember for the rest of my life. This guy is not only knowledgeable, honest, and reliable, but he truly loves to help others. If the world had more people like John, we would all be better off. He was able to provide me guidance on how to repair my own water heater. I have never met a plumber who actually gave advice on how to do it on your own without charging a fee. I would highly recommend working with John for any water heater or plumbing tasks. he loves what he does, and truly helps others. Keep it up, John! read more

Needed a new hot water heater. Quote was acceptable. Work done in a very timely manner, except they left me with a hole in the floor that we have to cover. I called requesting he check the water heater as the temp is now scalding, he said he would stop by to check. Not a word back. read more

Relaxed my kitchen faucet so I contacted John the Plumber again. They are by far the best service again! Always up front about pricing and super friendly. This is our 2nd time using them for household plumbing and each time they have provided good "old fashioned" friendly polite and quality work. I will never call another plumber. Simply the best! read more

He called us back quickly or answered the phone directly. We didn't end up using him because we are up in Seattle (out of his service area), but he was very helpful and free with his help and advice. He is willing to tell us how to fix our issue ourselves. I thought this was pretty cool and not something most businesses are willing to do. read more

Thank you thank you!!!!! I called at 0630 A.M. and John was at our house by 9:00 A.M. and my new hot water heater was installed by 11:30am. My husband said he was very professional. We will use John for any Plumbing needs in the future!!!! read more

Lately I have needed the services of several different types of home repair to be disappointed every time until today. I have dealt with people just not showing up, giving a bid and me excepting the bid and then they just don't show up again. But this morning I called John The Plumber and he asked me to email him my address so I did and about a half an hour later I got a telephone call saying they were about 12 minutes from my house would I be home and I answered of course. They came in, they evaluated my problem and it was a minor problem thankfully. They fixed the problem in short order and explained that they would not be charging me. When I had called him this morning I fully expected them to come in and rip out a wall and tell me I had to pull up flooring because of the leak that I had inside the wall. I fully expected a bill of hundreds of dollars and I almost cried when they told me they weren't going to charge me. After being so thoroughly disappointed by both a painter and a carpenter I was absolutely amazed at the level of service and the level of commitment and in the end the absolute kindness. So needless to say I recommended John The Plumber very highly. Thank you so much for making my day! read more

Awesome plumber. Had a leak at my cold water connection under the sink this holiday weekend and called to have John come and fix it. John wasn't available but had me take pictures of the problem and send them to him. He called me back and told me exactly what I needed to do to fix it. He Asked that I send pictures when I was done for him to see how it looked. Fixed the leak and had no problems. Saved me about $250. Will definitely be calling him again next time I have a problem! read more

Very impressed with John, he answered his phone after 7:00pm on a Sunday night and would have done a service call then if absolutely necessary. We were able to shut off the water and wait until Monday. John was at my rental property promptly Monday morning and by 11 am my water leak was fixed. read more

We had a minor plumbing issue at the house and John took the time to talk me through the steps while he was between jobs. He assured me he could come and look at the problem later that day, but his coaching was enough to have the problem fixed. I really appreciated John helping us out via telephone. He was kind, friendly, and knowledgable. Will be calling him again soon! read more

John the Plumber just finished installing a new shower and floor covering in my bathroom. Total cost roughly $1600 parts and $6400 labor. He was able to complete the job with the exception of painting and install of the shower door which is up to me to finish because John says shower doors are beyond his skill set. A shower curtain simply won't work with what he installed. He completed the work in 15 hours over the course of three days for an effective hourly rate of roughly $426/hour. Other people quoted between $5000 and $6500 for the same job but with installation of shower door included. However, I went with John even though his original bid was $8600 because I had been very happy with smaller jobs he did for me in the past and he had earned my trust. I thought there must be a reason his bid was so much higher because John has always been reliable and reasonable. On deciding not to replace the sub floor as originally planned he knocked $600 off the bill. In retrospect knowing what I know now I would have gone with the less expensive bid. Even though John had been a stellar performer in the past this experience was disappointing. John seems to shine on small emergency jobs. Unfortunately bathroom remodeling does not seem to be his strong suit. Hiring him for this job was a big mistake. This is the last job I will ask him to do for me. read more

John the Plumber - Plumbing Near Me

John recently came out to my home to give me an estimate. He was very informative and professional. He did not charge me to come out and the 2nd company I had come out charged me $100. The estimates were pretty much the same but the overall feel was better with John so I will definitely call him for future endeavors. read more

Great experience. Was punctual, professional and friendly. Explained his plan of action, then got right to work. I felt confident in his ability to resolve the issue, and he didn't let me down. Bonus points because he liked all my dogs :-) While he was only out to fix a very clogged bathtub, he will definitely be who I call the next time my nearly 100 year old house needs some plumbing TLC. read more

I called John about leak I found in my basement. He came out the next day with his daughter Amber. While he was there, I showed him two other unrelated plumbing issues I had and they took care of all three in a short time. His rates were straight up with no surprises, at a fraction of the cost of all those big name companies. I made sure to get business cards for all my friends, family and coworkers. We all know how hard it is to find a reliable and trustworthy company to get the job done right without cleaning out your savings. The bonus is they are a family business instead of a big name company. I won't call anyone else for my plumbing. Thanks John and Amber! read more

I read the reviews and decided to book an appointment. My dishwasher was leaking and my kitchen faucet had a leak. Amber and a tech came out and ran the dishwasher. They said there was a hose laying unattached and they wanted to charge $545 to fix it. I said "no", I can buy a new washer for that price. They looked at the faucet and charged $258 to put in a new cartridge in the faucet to stop the leak. Later on that evening the faucet as leaking more than it was earlier. I called John the Plumber and talked to Amber. She said "I thought you were selling the house and only wanted a quick fix." I said no I wanted it fixed. She said "I thought I could fix it." I told her not only was it not fixed it was leaking worse than it did before. She said she could put the $258 toward an installation on a new faucet which was $325 and I had to buy the faucet. I said I wanted a refund because I did not get anything for the $258 I paid. She refused to refund my money. I called another plumber who fixed the dishwasher (it was an easy fix of putting the hose back in the slot) and installed an new faucet for free. He felt bad that I was ripped off by John the Plumber. I will file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau as well as filing in smalls claims court. I am also a federal employee and will place a complaint on JBLM so military personal are not ripped off by these con artists! SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!!! read more

Called John about a leaking toliet, he sent one of his guys the next day. The guy charged me $300 for 30 minutes of work to replace a valve in the toilet. Don't trust the reviews on here. Total price gouger! read more

Was scheduled for another job today, but agreed to stop by and check my sink leak on his way home. Showed up on time, great job and super cheap (&0). Would call him again for anything plumbing related. read more

John quoted $400 for a sink replacement, then stated it was $425 when the job was done. I checked my notes and the agreed upon price of $400 was clear. He hooked up the hot water hose to the cold faucet and vise versa costing me another plumber to redo his workmanship. He took out the garbage disposal with the sink and did not replace it - quoted me earlier on the phone as doing a like for like replacement - sink for sink, faucet for faucet, etc. However, This was a turnaround of an investment property so I did not realize there was a garbage disposal - a simple heads up call and I'd have paid him extra - like the $25 to re-hook up the garbage disposal. Don't be fooled by all the positive reviews. read more
