What were we doing for 2 years? Well, let me preface this by saying that I have a very stressful job/life which manifests itself in me grinding my teeth to nubs. (When my bottom teeth were done and placed in my mouth I complained to Dr. Current saying that I had horse teeth. He then explained that my bottom teeth were the perfect size and I had ground nubs for so long I had no idea what a tooth should look like) Since I was not going to stop grinding, Dr. Current was tasked with putting teeth in my mouth that (1) did not come out of my mouth and put in a glass every night. I am too vain for that. (2) making teeth for the implants Dr. Nasson put in (another review) that would withstand the force of my grind and (3) make sure they didn't fall out. Yes, I cannot tell you how many times I have spit my teeth into my hands. I acknowledge that I was not always the most pleasant human being to work with and I was stubborn about what I wanted. I learned the difference between "want" and "need". Dr. Current did not want me to need him as much as I would have had I not listened to him. He also refused to do that which would not work just because I said so. He won and I have teeth that do not fall out; are the right size and work. I can actually chew. I had just gotten them all in and went on a cruise. First meal I picked up the crustiest bread you ever saw and found that I was afraid to bite into it. I texted Dr. Current and told him about my fear that they would break. He laughed and said "Please take them out for a spin. Chew! I did and have been chewing every since. I could write for days about this journey. I would post a picture so you could see my teeth but the reality is I do not know how to smile with my teeth showing. I was always self conscious about them. When I try to smile to show off my teeth, I look a tad deranged and possibly feral. She was patient, caring and understood my disdain for dentist and prior dental traumas. We spoke at length about coverage, and she confirmed before we met what fees would be covered and what services would happen during my visit. I didn't want any surprises! They didn't try to sell me invisalign or expensive services that I did not need. This office did exactly what they said, there was no bait and switch. Angela spoke with Dr Emam about my concerns, she was kind and caring and my experience was superb. After more than 3 years of no dental care, after the loss of insurance and encountering too many cash pay dentist who were dishonest and greedy, I was guarded, but there was no need. There is still work to be done, but I feel extremely comfortable with this office and their level of care. If you were like me feeling emotional, guarded, and feeling like every trip to the dentist is like talking to a used car salesman. My experience was that this office was transparent, fair and honest. I went there because I needed a Rebound . Before any treatment, they should clearly explain what is covered by insurance and what is not, so the patient can decide whether to continue. However, nobody at the front desk informed me about any extra costs. They first took X-rays even though my tooth did not need them. After charging my insurance for the X-rays, they told me that the rest of the treatment was not covered and that I would have to pay myself. The price they quoted was almost twice as high as other dental offices I contacted. On top of that, the dentists did not seem very experienced. My husband had a similar experience.
