Before I even moved in I made an inquiry on the website about a 2/2 (I knew of someone living here and I had also driven through the property to check it out). That same day Becky secured an apartment for me. This was HUGE considering I was moving from another state. This was a chunk of anxiety removed off of my plate. Moving in and out was easy. Accessible for the movers both times. The apartment was beautiful. Very modern and roomy. Nice huge balcony which was great when having my morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. Maegan and Becky in the office are top notch and Martin and Jon with property facilities are great. Everyone goes out of the way to assist. That means a lot. The location is great too. I had such a variety of restaurants and supermarkets (and gyms! From yoga, to strength etc... it's available. The apartment also has a great pool and gym). Truth be told: this was is the perfect location for a forever home if you are just looking to rent. I hadn't been a renter in 15 years (except a brief stop in South Carolina) and Mountain View made it very appealing. If you are looking for a place in Asheville to rent, this is your sign!

It's right off of Hendersonville Rd, which is busy, but it's at an incline and behind a huge wall of trees. That cuts down on the traffic noise. The entryway is surrounded by bamboo trees and sets the place apart. Apartments are as well built as you can get. Of course, you'll run into cosmetic defects and can see where some repairs have been done, but this is the norm. What elsecan you expect when people frequently move in and out of units? What really sets this place apart is management. Maegan and Becky were very hospitable and engaging from Day 1. They took the time to remember everyone's names and have friendly conversations while keeping business together. Anytime we had to call for a repair or a question, they didn't hesitate to respond! We recently had water shut off in south Asheville during the holidays. 3,000 plus people had no water for almost a week. But by Day 2, management had ordered a water tank to be on site. Staff came off of holiday break and stayed with the truck, helping residents refill water with whatever containers we had. I don't know of a landlord who would do that, yet Mountain View staff showed up for everyone!

The office staff members were always nice when we called in work orders and maintenance came out the same day. The property had neat little events for residents. My favorite would be the costume parade around Halloween. The staff had games, candy, and a trunk or treat for the kids. I've never heard of events for residents like that before. Example: -Rent for a one bed room apartment cost $1000! There is no other options. No negotiation even for those with special needs. -If you don't have a reliable source of income, you will be expected to pay for 6 months in advance just to move in. -Rust and mold galore! If there was a cleanliness check, this place would fail hard! -No Wi-fi or Heating. You have to pay for it yourself. -99% of the time the Laundromat fights you when trying to pay for your wash/dry session with a Credit Card. I've told the front desk about the issue NUMEROUS times and yet they've done nothing about this. -RUDE STAFF! -No Microwave -Short of actual emergencies like leak pipes, staff doesn't really do much to help you. I've been asking them to replace this rusted, creaking door since April. It's now 9/23/23 at the time of writing this edit and I STILL don't have this door replaced months later. And yes, I have confronted the manager about this multiple times. Just today, on 9/25/23, after months of being led on, they finally tell me, oh we're not going to replace that door there is nothing wrong with it. Check the hinges in my picture and tell me nothing is wrong with it. I was also told when I reported a drippy faucet and a potential case of faulty wiring to put in MY OWN work place order. Excuse me? I am the customer! Isn't it your job to SERVE the customer? -The sink is WAY TOO LOW. I'm 6 foot so every time I need to wash my hands, I have to bend over. That's not going to be good for back in my older years. It's like the sinks were designed for smaller people. -If you get assigned an apartment on the second floor, good luck getting any heavy furniture up the narrow steps. -Massive bug problem. I hope you like Stinkbugs, Spiders, Centipedes, Cockroaches, and Moths. When I voiced my concern about it happening to me they basically told me, it's not our problem. -Staff is only attentive with communicating with Tenants if there's a problem. Just go to the office in person. -When there's heavy rain, the street has a bad tendency to flood making it difficult to get to your apartment. -DON'T TAKE LONG SHOWERS! THE HOT WATER LASTS ABOUT AS LONG AS THE POSITIVE THINGS I HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THIS PLACE! I'm quick in the shower and the hot water was done before I could even finish. -You best secure your packages or get a door bell camera if you're gonna live here. Why? Because we have package thieves here! I know first hand because it happened to me. Do yourself a favor. Do not waste your time with this place! It's a dump with uncaring staff only in it to take your money for lack luster service! For $1000 a month, you can do better then this. Legit anywhere is better than this. I originally wrote my review to be fair, but this place has forced my hand. I fully intend on using my time while on lease to find a better place then this... Therefore when my Lease is finally up, I'll be moving to someone better, more quality and above all else cheaper. EDIT: Today I asked the front desk person for help with a review for The Pokémon Center by taking my picture in the pool on my Giant Inflatable Lapras Raft. The lady working the office passive aggressively refused to help me because of this very review I left. Considering I have a lease until May of 2024, that is not very professional. As a Local Guide for Google Maps, I leave unbiased reviews. I am not paid to say things. I am not influenced by my own personal feelings. I leave brutally honest reviews telling the reader what they need to know about certain establishments. And if some people aren't okay with that, well too bad. I value integrity of my reviews above all else. That is what got me in the Amazon Vine program after all. Revised my review to get this place 1 out of 5 stars now.

Looks nice on the outside, but daily life here is exhausting | Paying top dollar to be policed by…read morenitpicky neighbors wasn't the vibe. A year here showed us that the 'luxury' label is only in the marketing. After living here for a year, I feel it's important to share an honest perspective for anyone considering moving in. Unfortunately, the experience has not been what we expected, and it has been more disappointing than anything else............. The apartment had issues from day one (leaks, broken fixtures, poor water pressure), and the "luxury" claims don't match reality -- even the "soundproof flooring" doesn't stop you from hearing every detail (at least that's what our conversation with our downstairs neighbor let us know on.... 2 weeks in). Neighbors were nitpicky, and we received constant complaints, even outside of quiet hours, with staff quick to side with them....... For the high price, the atmosphere and quality simply weren't worth it. From the beginning, there were issues inside the unit itself -- the roof leaked when we moved in, the toilet handle was broken and rusted, and the refrigerator is extremely small for the size of the apartment. Water pressure and hot water are both below average, which doesn't fit the "luxury" description advertised. The car wash station, while a nice idea, was closed more often than it was available. The bigger challenge, however, was the overall living environment. Many of the neighbors were very fussy, overbearing, and fault-finding; we often received unreasonable complaints -- at times being accused of things we didn't do (by the police officer they have on-site) simply because of our age..... (we are young adults 28-31)' The clubhouse staff frequently relayed these complaints through early morning emails, which became draining over time. On top of that, our downstairs neighbor would regularly message us about "noise" even though it was outside of quiet hours. The complex advertises "luxury living with soundproof flooring," but in reality, you can hear nearly every detail from daily life, which made things uncomfortable and frustrating. Instead of fostering a welcoming community, the focus often seemed to lean toward appeasing those who complain the loudest... We've lived in several apartment complexes in the past, and unfortunately this has been the most difficult experience in terms of neighborly behavior and overall atmosphere, with subpar appliances. It's disappointing, especially given the cost to live here. I don't usually leave reviews, and I'm not writing this out of anger -- only to give future residents a realistic understanding of what to expect. Everyone's experience will be different, but this was ours, and I hope it helps others make a more informed decision.

"The Standard" is remarkedly standard, if even that. It is a very expensive place to live especially for having targeted ASU college students as their main customer base, on top of raising prices next year for a completely identical unit, and bare minimum level of quality and maintenance. They also issue very hefty and unethical fines on the smallest of things, on top of a $3800 4br monthly rent (soon to be $4300+), and even other fines that we had received and were completely out of our control such as a moving out "couch fine" for a total of $3000 for a rip on the (cheap) couch that had been there before we had moved in... In our last month living there, we had going on about a month of a broken washer/dryer, and like other amenities that stopped working, several delayed repair responses for these issues. We had other management and fine issues as well throughout the two semesters renting here. I had even once woken up to management randomly walking through my room in the morning, among the other about a dozen times they have come by to "check up" on things. They had given the reason that they are "thinking to fix" certain things, and then proceed to just take a walk through our rooms and bathrooms, and don't fix any of these "things" during the time that we lived there... Do not recommend renting here, they know how to empty your wallets and treat you like children.

The management adds ridiculous hidden fees and monthly 'convenience' and fees that were not clearly emphasized during the tour. Most notably, they charge a staggering $46 fee just to pay rent with a credit card. It feels like a constant cash grab rather than a service. Renters beware: the price you see is definitely not the price you will pay.

Extremely Disappointed - Would Not Recommend D&K Property Management…read more We interviewed multiple property management companies in August and September of 2023 to oversee our home in the Tri-Cities. Ultimately, we selected D&K based on several assurances that, unfortunately, were not fulfilled. It took approximately 3.5 months to rent the property, far longer than we were led to expect. Despite assurances that periodic walk-throughs would be conducted during the tenancy to ensure the home was being properly maintained, this never happened. We were even required to pay for our own advertising on Zillow. Later, we paid for a follow-up inspection ourselves, which revealed damage to the home, including issues with the siding. We immediately requested that repairs be completed before winter to avoid water intrusion. Despite repeated follow-ups, the only action taken by D&K was to "check in" with the tenants--no enforcement or resolution occurred. When the tenants vacated the home in April 2025, they left behind over $7,600 in damages. D&K refused to assist in obtaining repair estimates, leaving us--living across the country--to coordinate everything ourselves. Although we were told we had 30 days to submit documentation for deductions from the tenant's deposit, I was abruptly given just one day's notice--on day 17--that the information was due immediately. Throughout this ordeal, D&K continued to hold the owner's deposit for the full 30 days, despite refusing to help coordinate or manage repairs. When I asked how the tenants would be held accountable for damages beyond the deposit, I was told the charges would be sent to collections--at our expense, with no clear explanation of those costs. I've been a Realtor for 23 years and have previously managed rental properties myself. Based on this experience, I would absolutely not recommend D&K to anyone. They charge a premium for minimal effort, fail to uphold their responsibilities, and ultimately left us to manage the fallout from a tenant they selected. There are many other property management companies in the area--do yourself a favor and choose a different one.
