One thing led to another and our new home was move-in ready in November 2020. We couldn't be happier with the build. We found Kerns to be easy to work with, flexible, and responsive. We were new to homebuilding and thus had numerous questions throughout the process. We didn't always get the answer we wanted but we always got an answer. Of importance was the quality of work and although I am neither in construction nor design, I can attest to the quality workmanship thanks to friends who are. Worth noting is that Kerns employs an in-house designer and we found her profoundly helpful. Contrast that with run-of-the-mill builders who instruct you to go "pick out what you want" and you can see the value in having someone dedicated to that space and willing to guide you. As one would expect, we have had minor issues since moving in but they have all been addressed in a timely, efficient, and effective manner. Again, we couldn't be more pleased with our new home and highly recommend Kerns Homebuilders for all the right reasons. Trust me - you'll feel right at home.

We were connected through Angi's List with Rob and his crew. He was quick and punctual to come over and give us an estimate, and talk my husband through things. We'd already done a lot of research on what we'd like, but his knowledge is vast and invaluable and his patience great. He didn't mind answering questions and explaining his reasonings for decisions if he made suggestions that he thought might serve us better than what we were asking for. In the end, he quoted us over 3 grand less than another company who had been less professional and no where near as courteous with our time. We agreed on him, and he had guys at our place at 9:45am the next morning, they worked til 7pm or 7:30pm getting the framework up of our 6ft and 4ft privacy fences and where gates would go, as well as getting a good half of the fence and gates up. Next day they were back at 8:30am and had finished and cleaned up the whole yard by 6:30pm! Super quick and it looks GORGEOUS! He didn't require a down payment or a contract to be signed or anything. Came out and inspected the fence afterword, and we paid exactly what he originally quoted us in full! Definitely recommend Rob and his crew, they're fantastic and very polite and respectful of your property (and pets! We have a stray that favors our house, and they didn't mind him being nosey and watching them work!)

Work had to stop and I had to go to the city to get it straightened out. Screws poking through frame, and wood is splitting. Gates don't open, and 14 requests were made to fix them after he was paid. He didn't come out and fix them. They still don't work. Metal ag fence bows and is rippled. Wood posts covered with dirt so they'll rot. Double gates are twisted. Quoted $26k but charged $38k that he wanted before he finished. I added linear foot but he didn't add the agreed upon gates or placement and changed the design without approval. Ordered pre-stained but installed green pressure treated and wanted additional $6k to stain. Wouldn't fix anything after he was paid. Uprooted a smoke tree and left it to die. Rob was an extremely difficult person to deal with. I felt he was knowledgeable but prone to temper tantrums. Unfortunately, the project was expensive, and the results are very poor quality. I was really impressed how the worksite was cleaned up every day before leaving for the night. They were very careful to control dust to contain it to the immediate area. There were a few changes we had to make and it was no problem to them. As professionals in the construction area, they offered suggestions to enhance the final outcome. I would definitely have them do additional work for me.

This guy "fixed" my AC one week ago for $353 and charged me for a hard start that he never…read moreinstalled. Our AC stopped working 6 days later and he refused to fix his mistake and then hung up on me after becoming very aggressive on the phone. We hired someone else to look at our AC and when he opened up the unit there was no hard start. I called and Preston will not return any of my calls. He had completely misdiagnosed the issue. New repair guy had it up and running in an hour. Do not trust him! He will scam you and then quit returning your calls.

I also had called them back when I needed new flooring in my basement due to my dogs ruining my previous carpet. They put in nice hardwood floors & used quality material so that my pets would not ruin it this time around! 5/5 would recommend
