I'm middle aged but my teeth have looked way better. I booked an appointment and she basically gave me the straight shit. I needed braces and unless I went with veneers that would carve my own teeth down to nubs (!!!), there wasn't much else that could be done. She was also very frank about bleaching processes. I was disappointed to hear the bad news especially after already having had braces twice in my life. She recommended an orthodontist she trusted and that was it. So why the 5 star review? Because she was nice, frank and HONEST. She didn't try to sell me things I didn't need or that wouldn't give me the results I was looking for. Awesome.

I have an illnesses which causes me to vomit frequently, sometimes with no warning. I had an episode while in the Martin Dentistry office some time ago. It's not as though they didn't know or hadn't seen it. However, after being late to an appointment which was rescheduled I was ridiculed. Call me silly but I didn't want to uncontrollably vomit all over the dentist or hygienist. Frankly, it's a health risk. I could've easily choked on my vomit during treatment. You can be the best dentist but with an unprofessional, patient facing staff you will eventually lose business. Side note, somehow the office suppressed my Google review. She did not force me into any decisions and said it was my choice but she would air on the side of conservative treatment. When I explained that at 60 years old I needed readable text to understand what I was signing, my concerns were dismissed with comments that "this is what all our patients do." * Lack of Transparency & Patient Autonomy: After waiting past my scheduled appointment time, I asked to speak with Dr. J, only to be informed he had left due to a medical emergency. Staff openly admitted their standard practice is to wait until a patient is already seated in the dental chair before disclosing a provider swap. Withholding information about a provider change until a patient is already in the treatment chair removes patient autonomy and puts unfair pressure on them to accept a doctor they have never met.
