** Falsifies patients chart Records** We'll find you out. Doesn't listen at all to the patient…read more They sent me a letter that was very unexpected in the mail. It was stating that we do not align, and it's simply because I was pushing back on them, and i had a very rare condition that needed to be treated by a surgeon. I had to get it from my General Practice Doctor. They would not even give me a referral to surgery. Dr Michael Edwards made me feel like a complete ignorant idiot when I came to his office in tears. He wouldn't listen to me when I told him this was affecting the roof of my mouth. He basically had a "suck it up" attitude and then came back in the room and apologized for being insensitive. In my notes, they stated that I called the office and was comparing prices of them pulling a tooth versus the er pulling a tooth. I'm not sure how that constitutes being dismissed as a patient. I was looked at like I was crazy the whole time I was trying to explain my condition. I kept being told to leave the areas alone and let it heal. Turns out I was right and they were wrong, and it's just an ego hit. The hygienist was getting very upset at me, questioning or rather giving her advice on where to go in the mouth. I guess we are supposed to just trust every healthcare provider to know every single answer. I guess we are supposed to keep how WE feel & what WE know to ourselves I was told they knew about my condition, but i'm actually fairly certain that Michael has never treated it. He absolutely did not know anything about root scaling and didn't even want to pull my tooth, which ended up being severely infected. After he pulled it, he said, wow, yes, we should have pulled this. It's like no kidding. This is going on in my mouth. The letter that they sent me stated that communication and understanding is not aligned. So in layman's terms, basically, they wanted to say that I was questioning their medical excellence, supposedly. I am not sure how doctor edwards did not notice on my X-rays or cbc i had fluid built up in the roof of my mouth. I spoke with his office manager, who said that A letter in the mail is normally a last ditch effort. I never even got a phone call. Considering I drove 40 plus minutes to see them and spend tons of money. You would think that the doctor would tell you the price of an extraction before he does it. You would think they would recommend you to an oral surgeon. You would think they would actually diagnose you with a condition rather than doubting if I even have it. As the letter stated dentistry is personal. Maybe they should take their own advice and listen to a person who's actually living through the issue and has a mouth they live in. I will be seeing a periodontist that was recommended by my dentist and local. The only star i'm leaving is for the office staff who does a good job. If I could leave zero stars, I would. When they were doing a cleaning, they didn't even work for more than eight minutes. I'm not sure how that constitutes a deep cleaning When i've had deeper cleanings at a general practice. Essentially thank you for taking my money. Thank you for failing to refer me to a surgeon. Thank you for ejecting me as a patient. Thank you for making me believe that this is my fault. Additionally, thank you for the 50% bone loss in my mouth that my scan 2 weeks ago showed. My condition went downhill FAST and you treated it like it was nothing. Failed to diagnose me correctly. Failed to come up with a treatment plan. Failed to spare me the pain and pull my infected tooth. Failed to refer me to surgery. Failed to recommend gum surgery or a laser that he supposedly specializes in. WOW! Not a single mention of a gum surgery which I ABSOLUTELY needed. Now I was told I may need prostethics, bone grafts, etc. and multiple surgeries. Thank you for not taking accountability for your lack of knowledge into my condition. 10/10 do NOT RECOMMEND. Find someone who is willing to listen to you, the patient. It's odd how offended doctors get when they are questioned.

Jerilyn was my dental hygienist and she was extremely gentle, yet efficient. She also gave me a few tips on dealing with cold sensitivity on one of my teeth which has helped tremendously over the last few months. To top it off, Dr. So was also very personable and it was so nice to meet a fellow California native! I'm excited to return back for my next cleaning which says a lot coming from a person who doesn't particularly enjoy going to the dentist! The office is also very clean & they have a few parking spots reserved for patients so I did not have to pay for street parking.

I do enjoy going to the dentist and honestly find it a bit relaxing to sit in the chair. However,…read moreonce I found out I had my first cavity I was a bit concerned to get the filling done. Especially since anytime needles are involved I have a tendency to pass out. I have always had great dentists and I think that is part of why I have enjoyed going to the dentist, but at Mass Ave Family Dentistry you are not just getting a fantastic dentist--you are also getting a great team that works well together. Once I informed the dental hygienist, Amanda that I could pass out I was amazed at the extra steps that they took to ensure for both my safety and comfort. Shannon, who was shadowing for the day, and Amanda both did a fantastic job of keeping me talking and making sure that I was feeling ok. Dr.So and Amanda did an amazing job on my filling, it is not noticeable at all and has not changed my bite or smile. I also needed to get part of my permanent retainer fixed and I appreciated that Dr.So and the receptionists let me know that it would likely be cheaper to get it done at my orthodontist's. I think it says a lot about the quality of healthcare professionals when a healthcare office lets you know that there might be cheaper alternatives for the same work! In the end, I decided to get my retainer fixed by Dr.So and Amanda instead of traveling to get it fixed at my orthodontist's office. My retainer has never felt so unnoticeable, once again I really cannot say how amazing the work they did for me was!

I had to have a frenectomy and then gum grafting surgery and I was absolutely terrified. I'd never had any kind of surgery before but had severe gum recession and it needed to be done. Considering the circumstances, the office couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. They make it really easy to schedule and they will update you via your preferred contact method. I was given all pre- and post-op instructions over text, which I much prefer to a phone call. Dr. Patel is amazing--he's funny, efficient, and really makes you comfortable in his care. Love him! I truly cannot imagine having a better experience at the periodontist. And nobody wants to go to the periodontist.

The entire procedure of extraction and implant was explained very well. And the moment I met Dr. Patel and Ana, I was so relaxed and relieved. Every single person I met besides Dr. Patel and amazing surgical asst. Ana, was professional and caring. I was in contact with Torrie, Jenny, and Alysha through phone calls, texts, and emails, and they were top notch in such reassuring and informative ways. I am sure my dental implant will go very well in 3-4 months. I thank them all for their loving care.

Very "memorable" experience…read more I booked my appointment months in advance and confirmed when prompted. Somehow, the appointment was changed to another date after my confirmation -- with no call, no explanation, and no notice. Impressive system. I drove nearly two hours in snowy weather and arrived on time, only to be told my appointment no longer existed that day. When I calmly showed proof and tried to explain, the staff's response was eye-rolling, visible impatience, and zero effort to help resolve an error that was not mine. I was left feeling dismissed, unwelcome, and frankly uncomfortable. I can't say why I was treated that way, but it's hard not to wonder whether appearance or background played a role when basic courtesy and professionalism disappear so quickly. When I asked for their names to document the incident, they refused and told me to leave. If accountability, communication, and respectful treatment matter to you, I'd suggest confirming things multiple times -- and maybe still prepare for surprises.

They were able to get me in within two weeks for a routine cleaning and x-rays. The cleaning was good. I mentioned that I tend to gag with dental stuff, so they took extra care when placing the films for my x-rays and the tech kept checking on me and going super slow to ensure my comfort. I had a filling that had mostly fallen out. I was able to reschedule a follow up for two days later (they had them sooner, but it didn't work for my schedule). I asked if I would have to be numbed because I hate the dental shots. She said she was pretty confident she could pop out the old filling and replace it with no to minimal pain and she was right. My tooth hurt the tiniest bit, but I'm pretty sure it was just sensitivity when the cold water blasted it. I was in and out in about 20 minutes with my new filling and no numb, drooly mouth. They also accept children. My friend's entire family goes and say the dentists are really good with their kids as well. I don't doubt it. Each room is themed. My cleaning was in the Star Wars room and my filling was in the baseball room. There is plenty for kids (or kids at heart) to look at and be distracted by during dental procedures.
