About a year and a half ago, I had 3 crowns placed due to root canals. Since then, I have experienced swollen gums, bleeding on occasion, and having one of those crowns in particular come loose twice in 1 year. I quickly made consultations with dentists that were extremely expensive, and I soon realized that expensiveness does not equate to superb patient care.
I luckily found Dr. Calamia who is nice, professional, and a top notch dentist. He explains everything so that it's easy to understand, and is very patient. He also teaches part of the week at NYU. What stands out most of everyone here is how much they care about your general health and well-being. His wife is also a dentist at the office, and there is also a Periodontist here part of the week.
I came into their office in an awful mood. My crown was about to fall off, and I spent a week anxious of how much it would cost to fix my problem. All 3 dentists made me feel safe, and promised that they would do everything in their ability to save my smile. Best of all, the treatment plan was affordable. I get the sense that they care a ton more about your health, rather than making their bank accounts larger. The office is definitely a no frills place, it's doesn't have fancy state of the art x ray machines or flat screen tv's. read more
