We went to a baby shower here where they rented out a large pavilion for the expected 80 guests. There was plenty of parking, a spot where they cooked up burgers, frankfurters, and chicken legs for everyone. We were lucky there wasn't a rainstorm that came through while attending, but it is the season. The park is spacious and nice with lots of trees and play parks for kiddos. There is a good-sized play area with some swings for the little ones and the slides and climbing playsets for older kids. I remember being a young one, loving running up and sliding down these kinds of park equipment. The weather was nice, so this event went well. We left a bit early, but everyone there had a great time.

I absolutely love this park! There is so much space! The trail has exercise posts along the path that you can do! There are playgrounds. Great for dogs and if you want an enclosed space, there is a dog park (Lake Woof) around the corner. There is a lot of beautiful scenery. Honestly, I can go on and on. This is a great park and I highly recommend it!

Named after Lake Worth pioneer John Prince this 726 acre park situated around lake Osborne is huge! It is so big it has three entrances. This park literally has it all, a 1 mile long fitness trail with 20 exercise stations, 4 basketball court, a 4.5 mile long bicycle/ running/ hiking path, boat ramps, dog park, fitness zone with 17 pieces of outdoor exercise equipment, fishing, 1/2 mile nature trail, picnic pavilions, tables and grills, 4 playgrounds, a splash park, 3 softball fields, 8 tennis courts, and 2 grass and 6 sand volleyball courts. I came to enjoy the walking path. It winds along the picturesque Lake Osborne which is 378 acres. I parked at the playground with the splash park and headed to my right and ended at the outdoor fitness zone before turning around and heading back. The walk was beautiful and I saw a lot of birds and other wildlife along the lake. The only part I didn't like was having the cyclists rushing within inches of me at high speeds. Even though I tried to stay to the edge of the path I feel like I had some close calls. There were also a lot of homeless folks everywhere in this park. No one bothered me but it seems sad that this is the best West Palm Beach can do for it's most vulnerable community members. This park is so large it would take more than one visit to fully explore it. After my walk I drove around a bit until the road ended for cars. I was trying to find out if there was a path that did a full loop around the lake. I am still not sure if the 4.5 mile bike/ walk path only goes in one direction or of it loops back to where you started. I tried to ask some runners who seemed to indicate the path was one way. I can go 5 miles out but another 5 back would be pushing it for me which is why I prefer looping trails. If I lived closer I would be here all the time. This is a great park for the residents of Lake Worth.

This park kind of has a little bit of everything from what I saw during my time here. It's pretty large, but fortunately, it's also easy to navigate through. It has a nice trail to make running easy. It's also perfect for picnics: large or small. And it has a large playground area for kids. On one end there is a golf course and the other side has the county airport. The bathrooms in true public restroom for a park fashion were sketchy. The thing that only makes it ok is that it's not a very pretty park. I didn't want to spend hours here because it was just kind of blah. It was very clean, yes, but really it was nothing more than grass- no real shrubbery or flowers other than palm trees. I wouldn't make the trip all the way up here for this park.

A fun packed park for mommies and daddies, oh and the kids of course! :)) There are several small and large playgrounds and each is separated by another, with the splash water play area in the center. I would like to say each playground is for different age groups but not exactly sure, just that it seems that one is for older kids, youth kids and toddlers and obviously the reason why most parents love this park besides spread wide space is the picnic areas with the water views. There are also two sets of swings one traditional one at the west side and on the east side a cute tire and chair like swings we all enjoy! I specifically enjoy the wonderful breeze thanks to all the trees that provide shade, so mom's bring out your blankets, towels, picnic food let the kids have fun while dad enjoys riding his jets ski or boat in the back. A great place for a family to enjoy a nice hot Florida day.

Covering 726 acres with 338 being water and, given that it boarders Lake Osborne, 35,000 feet of shoreline, it's a rather large park. It also has a wide range of amenities such like 4 basketball courts, about 4.5 miles of bicycle paths, 4 boat launching ramps, a complete RV and tent campground, access areas for kayak and canoeing, fresh water fishing, fitness zones, playground variously arranged by ages, nature trails, a petanque court, picnic shelters, tables, grills and a golf learning center. My purpose in going here was for fishing, which was pretty much of a letdown. I tried bank fishing along Lake Osborne and did some pier fishing on Square Lake. What disappointed me was that the bottoms where I fished were covered with algae decay and much of the rest of the bank areas little more than weed beds. In speaking with others fishermen of the area they were all of the opinion that any fish here run small, catches will generally be largemouth bass or crappie, and it's basically only meant to give the kids something to do when the family picnics. Evidence of the fact that most fishing either has to be done by kids or possibly some of the world's most incompetent fishermen is the fact that the few electrical lines there are in the park having fishing lines and rigs hanging all over them. I also did the trails which though very short can be rather interesting with plenty of gumbo limbo, sea grape and cabbage palm. But if you do it, it might be wise to stay on the trail as I also noted some off trail poison ivy. One the big drawbacks of John Prince Park is the availability of restroom facilities. There aren't that many of them and the distance you have to cover to get to them can be somewhat of a hike.

John Prince' Vision:: A County Park for the People Lake Worth pioneer & County Commissioner John Prince, an engineer & advocate for Veterans, obtained this large tract of donated land for the benefit of the public. Would that we had many more John Princes in other states during the early-mid 1900s. I go to this ginormous 726-acre park on the West & North shores of manmade Lake Osborne quite often, for various activities. The St. Jude Walk-a-Thon is held here. Another expansion has just been completed. Weekdays are uncrowded except in Summer. Weekends provide free activities & lots of space for families. Amenities:: campgrounds / 7-mile fitness trail surrounded by Nature / workout pavilion / playgrounds / splash pads / golf practice center / cricket field / baseball-softball field / tennis & basketball courts / dog park / PB County Sheriff's Office & Fire Station on site. If you love Nature, this is a DO NOT MISS!

It's named after Mary Brandon, a local politician who served on the city's Parks and Recreation Commission in the 1960s. Established in 1999, this park holds the distinction of being the first dog park in the City of West Palm Beach. It features two separate fenced areas--one for small dogs (25 pounds and under) and another for larger dogs. Amenities include dog-friendly water fountains, play tunnels, as well as plenty of chairs, benches, and tables for owners to relax. In July 2019, the city unveiled a brand-new playground, replacing older equipment with updated, shade-covered slides and climbing structures. In addition to the dog park and playground, the park also offers picnic pavilions, a baseball field, restrooms, and a large open green space that's perfect for running around or getting some exercise. I really appreciate how the city created a space that caters to both kids and dogs. It's a welcoming, versatile park that serves the neighborhood well--perfect for a casual afternoon outdoors. I'd definitely come back, especially if I brought my dog or just wanted a quiet place to unwind outside for a while.

For the pet owner, there are two dog "parks"/dog run areas for differing size dogs that are fenced in. When we stopped by, there was only one other car parked in the lot. It was lovely weather so I was surprised that more people were not taking advantage of the first sunny day in a while. There are some large old trees providing shade, too. We'd be here often if we lived in the neighborhood.

This natural area is a maritime hammock which is a natural band of forest that grows on the stabilized back dunes of barrier islands. This natural area is 11.4 acres with 1,200 feet of shoreline on the Lake Worth Lagoon. In February 1967 this land was leased for 99 years to the Milton Steinhardt family. In 2012, Judge Raphael Steinhardt, grandson of Milton Steinhardt relinquished the lease so that the land could be donated to the City of Lake Worth to be enjoyed by the public. This parcel has now been turned into a nature preserve, nine acres of which are submerged so that mangroves and sea grasses can grow. A maritime hammock community makes up another 2 and 1/2 acres. In 2015 and 2016 volunteers removed exotic plants. Fifteen truckloads were removed along with concrete material that had been dumped to prevent erosion. Three thousands tons of limestone were then installed to create a breakwater that prevents erosion and creates a habitat for oysters which filter the water. Clean sand was added and sea grass and mangroves were planted. The mangroves also filter out pollutants and acts as a marine life nursery. The marsh grass breaks up wave energy and provides a wildlife habitat. The Jewell Cove Natural Area serves as a refuge to the animals of the Lake Worth lagoon. This includes osprey, tricolored heron. snowy egret, little blue heron, and white ibis. Plants found here include coralbean, cabbage palm, sea grape, strangler fig, sand cordgrass, green buttonwood, and mangroves. There is a hiking trail through the preserve and you can launch a kayak on the Lake Worth Lagoon but the main benefit of this preserve is to improve the health of the Lake Worth Lagoon ecosystem. In 2019, the commission voted to put on the ballot a 99-year lease on Jewel Cove's 11.4 acres submerged along the Intracoastal and to keep the land on the southeast side of the bridge a natural area. This ensures that the area stays a natural living shoreline, protected by Palm Beach County. The county will not be able to build on the land and it will be maintained as a sanctuary.

This hidden gem is now known as President Gerald R. Ford Lantana Bicentennial Park, renamed in 2007 to honor President Ford's 1976 visit commemorating the nation's 200th anniversary. Today, it's a peaceful and well-maintained waterfront spot right at the base of the bridge. The park offers a great mix of amenities, including picnic tables, grills, a playground, a picnic pavilion, a spacious green lawn, and clean restrooms. There's also a seawall and a fishing pier, making it a great place to cast a line or just relax by the water. Directly across the way, Sportsman Park provides even more fishing opportunities. The pavilion can be reserved through the city, but the picnic tables and grills are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Parking is metered unless there's a special event, in which case the city provides a shuttle. Lantana also hosts community events here, including Fourth of July celebrations and a local green market. Even on a regular day, though, it's a perfect spot to sit along the water, take in the scenic views of Lake Worth Lagoon, and watch the boats drift by.

There's a nice sized playground area -- including structures to climb and slide on, and also a set of swings. A few kids were loudly enjoying this. There's a covered pavilion; and bathroom facilities; there are benches spaced periodically. And a walkway along the wall running along the waterway. A fisherman was trying his hand from the side nearer the bridge. And a few folks were just enjoying the water views from benches and taking a "me" break. My husband is already planning to come back here to fish. And I'll be bringing a good book to enjoy while he catches us dinner.

I asked for an extension; I was given two weeks and then I need to leave. I was told that if I die it's not their problem, the rules are the rules. The security at the Campground is very good, but that's about it. The water supply is from the contaminated Lake Osborne. Even with double filters the water is polluted. Many guests informed me that they were told the water comes from Lake Worth Beach, this is a lie. The Campground is in unincorporated Lake Worth, and the water supply is Lake Osborne. 2024 Lake Osborne was incredibly infested with bacteria and coli issues. During 2016 the same. People are told not to wash with the water or use it to prepare food. Just Google Lake Osborne and the proof is in the pudding, but don't make the pudding with the water. They have very little grass and each site is infested with Red Ants who attack the children and the dogs and cats.
