I asked him if he accepted my Delta Dental PPO plan, he said that he would. It turns out he is not part of the PPO doctor network and so my plan only covered a small portion of the bill. For his unecessarily advanced x-ray machine and a routine cleaning he charged over $700. Not only did Mr. Mortazie mislead me about insurance, tack on as much expense as possible, but he also sculpted the WRONG tooth. I had come in to just get a chip smoothed out in my tooth. He fixed that tooth but at the same time proceeded to sculpt my incisor (which had nothing wrong). I believe that he simply missed my one tooth and then tried to cover it up by continuing to sculpt my incisor. I called him to question his methods and he blew me off and sent me a bill and a copy of some agreement form that binds me to pay regardless. Mr. Mortazie runs a scam of an office where there is no office manager, assistant, or billing department. Mr. Mortazie has no secretary (he does it all). You never have any recourse because he does not belong to any association of Virginia dentists (I've checked). The only reason I would ever walk into his office again would be to serve him a malpractice lawsuit.

He is very passionate about what he does and that made me feel at ease. He has a very soft hand and the anxiety I always feel at the dentist does not happen to me there because of his calming disposition. He uses all the latest technologies and has the computer assisted implant process, which is something I was specifically looking for since it is one of my front teeth. I highly recommend Dr. Mortazie for anybody that is looking for a dentist with experience and that can handle a complicated dental situation.

In contrast, Dr. Stanton's receptionist allayed serious concerns about finances by letting me know that insurance would accepted and I would be advised of costs not covered by the insurance. Dr. Stanton truly treats the whole person - giving attention to health concerns that could seem unrelated to dental care. Dr. Stanton performed extensive periodontal work on my gums after my general dentist's office let me know that they extent of work needed was beyond what they could provide. After I went back to my general dentist, a member of the staff raved at the caliber of the work that had been done. I have found Dr. Stanton and his staff to be professional and ethical, evening receiving a refund after insurance and copays had been applied for his services. I'm sorry if anyone's experience with his practice has been less than positive but I give Dr. Stanton my highest recommendation.

I decided to stay conscious for the procedure, so he numbed my gums and removed all four wisdom teeth within 30 minutes, while explaining what he was doing. Very little pain, and he moved real quickly. He used stitches to sew up the cuts. Took Ibuprofen to help with swelling, and the anti-biotic. NEVER had to take the painkillers which were prescribed. Bleeding stopped within 5 hours. I worked out and then went out pretty hard the day after the procedure, consuming a few drinks. Then I worked (tough manual labor job) and did SEALFit the Monday after the procedure, and had no problems with cuts re-opening. Had a quick check-up on the Wednesday after, and Dr. Dorsch confirmed that everything was good. I highly recommend Dr. Dorsch.

It makes me question, her motives, did she lie about me having cavities OR is she just not knowledgeable of her craft. "Our next appointment should be here any minute." Wrong! Your next appointment showed up 30 minutes late and you guys took her in! How do I know? Let me start by saying I am extremely picky about, well, a lot of things. It's probably where my skepticism towards a lot of doctors stems from. After what was a lifetime or two of putting off the removal of my wisdom teeth- I found Dr. Prokopets! Truth be told, she found me and decided she'll end my misery. Dr. Prokopets is the consummate professional, highly skilled and exceptionally trained in her field. Her knowledge and how she meticulously did the surgery was much appreciated. She answered any and all questions prior to surgery & constantly checked in during the surgery to make sure I was still comfortable. Obviously it took forever for me to get numb but she was patient throughout it and did not start until I was "securely" numbed. So here I am- telling you I had a thorough and nice experience with a periodontist, because I really did. And I didn't think I would. Have I mentioned that Dr. Prokopets is also a genuinely kind person? So what are you waiting for?! If you have dental needs! :)

She warned me that a crown will likely be necessary due to the bite. Will update later but so far very happy with the work that will allow me to enjoy the rest of this trip. Follow up - able to finish my vacation with the solid filling repair. Made it to my regular cleaning a few weeks later without any further incident. As Dr. Amini correctly assessed there will need to be a crown installed. Review stands as good job on short notice.
