I asked well why am I early, I'm told they changed my appointment to 10.00; however I was not informed. I'm told they will get with me soon in the mean time X-rays are taken and payment is requested while I have to wait. I'm called about 11:00. Then I'm called in for the extraction. Dr. Scott Kim comes in numbs my mouth and begans procedure. He pulling and tugging, I understand that this is a deep rooted tooth and that he has to watch not to damage the nerve. I can feel every tug, so he numbs me again. Leaves out and return. Starts procedure again pulling and tugging, his instrument slips, hits me on my front teeth, I yell out. He says it a little difficult I'm going to have to break it into two piece. He gets it out, my face swollen and I'm just glad it's over. I was in pain by the time I got home so I just took my medication and went to sleep. When I awoke I went to look at my teeth because that instrument hit kinda hard. Why my front tooth cracked. The next day when they called to check on me I told them that when I was hit with the instrument my tooth was cracked. They brought me in the next day took xray again. Dr. Kim comes in never shows me the xray, but takes pics of my tooth with his cell phone. Then tells me it was probably already cracked. It's a noticeable crack I look in my mouth everyday it was not cracked. Did not offer a solution. This man tells me not to worry about that tooth, keep watch on the tooth that was pull and if there is a problem give them a call. Just the fact you did not compare the two X-rays is telling. Don't go here he does not take accountability and almost pull my jaw off; that's how any why the instrument slipped. No bedside manners, showed no compassion. He says that he doesn't believe he was responsible because he did not work in the front of my mouth but you hit me with that instrument when it slipped. Warning find another oral surgen. RUN, RUN, RUN.

My appointment was for 11am, I arrived a few minutes early to get through the paperwork. Moments after completing it, I was called to the back where they took x-rays and then got me settled in a room. Dr. Martin is the primary dentist and he's got decades of experience - practiced in D.C. for about 15 years before he opened his current practice and location 8 years ago. I found him to be professional but also friendly and personable. The office staff are polite and efficient as they explained to me how the appointments are held and what I owed after insurance coverage. All in all, it was a pleasant experience; I was out of there 1 hour and 15 minutes after I walked in, got x-rays and a cleaning - now that's what I'm looking for, fast and professional. One of my pet peeves is having an appointment somewhere, showing up and having to wait extra time before I get in the back, then waiting more time to be seen. I'll be back.

Approximately five years ago, my dentist retired and sold her practice to Drs. Bryce Miller and…read moreMatt Chen. The practice was subsequently rebranded as Burtonsville Dental Suite or BDS. As with many changes, this one brought both anxiety and apprehension. I was uncertain if I would like the new dentists or how they approached dentistry. I was further stressed by what I would be forced to do if it turned out this change was not one that I could withstand. My stress levels were soon found to be unjustified. While I have had several visits with Dr. Chen, most of my time the past five years has been spent under the care of Dr. Miller. Therefore, this review will focus primarily on him. However, it should be noted that my comments pertain equally to everyone in this practice. After several routine visits for cleanings, it became necessary for me to have a crown which involves needles to numb the area. I have had a lifelong dislike of needles of any kind and for any reason. When I arrived for my procedure a bit early, I crossed paths with Dr. Miller and when he asked how I was, I told him I was stressed about the need for him to numb my mouth using needles. When he heard that, he stopped mid stride and told me that he did not want me to stress while waiting. He led me to the chair and told me he was exceptional with needles and had even numbed himself. I was skeptical. He gave me the first needle as quickly as possible and I very quickly learned that he was not exaggerating. I have never had an experience that was so pain free. This experience, as well as those that have followed have eliminated my fear of needles and injections. Over the years, I have come to trust, respect and admire Dr. Miller's dedication to his craft, as well as his compassion towards his patients. He takes the time to explain what he is doing and why. He listens to my concerns and he answers my questions. He speaks to me versus at me. During a procedure, he will not only tell me where he is in the process but will stop and ask me if I am okay or if I need a break. Dr. Miller is young. Very young! He is younger than my children. He is also up to date on the latest techniques and technology. The practice puts patient care ahead of profit. The office is state of the art. The visits are never rushed. The entire staff is professional, respectful and courteous. Whenever I have had any procedure performed, other than routine cleanings, Dr. Miller or a member of his team has called me to check on my recovery and ask if I need anything. When my wife had some extensive work done recently and had a problem, I called the office after hours and left a message detailing the issue. Within minutes, Dr. Miller called to obtain more details and ask if she needed to be seen immediately or could she wait until the next morning. Dr. Miller is incredibly passionate about his work and compassionate about his patients. He has taken dentistry and raised it to an art form. This change has had a very happy outcome. Thank you!!

A friend recommended her dentist and I am very happy to have found the McCarl Dental Group. Everyone I met at this office has been super friendly and helpful. I'm happy to have Dr Lee as my dentist and the dental hygienists, Nancy and Meagan are both very thorough and knowledgeable. I believe in supporting your staff but racism is real and refusing to accept its existence is very naive and complicity. She cleaned her dental instruments on my dental bib. It was very unprofessional and disgusting. In all of my years have I NEVER witnessed a dentist go that far. It doesn't stop there, she took XRays and told me I had a couple of CAVITIES. I instantly became concerned because prior months back my old dentist said there were NO cavities. When I left the office I vowed to NEVER return. I went to another dentist that examined my teeth and took additional XRAYS, she said I did NOT have any cavities and she urged me to have another cleaning before the normal 6 months ended. Sad to say, I was not surprised, I'm glad I did not allow Dr. Bustillo to drill into HEALTHY teeth. It makes me question, her motives, did she lie about me having cavities OR is she just not knowledgeable of her craft. This is not to tear anyone's practices down, I want to WARN anyone that is thinking about setting an appointment with this doctor. Please be careful going to just anybody, take your time, read reviews. If you still go to her regardless of this warning, I feel sorry for you. Dr. Brian Park has been a lifesaver! I had a botched root canal several years ago which triggered a…read moredeep fear of dentists. Unfortunately this also resulted in neglect of routine dental care which only got worse. I recently had a root canal done at another office who referred me to Dr. Park for follow up and I'm so grateful that they did. Aside from the root canal follow up, I knew I had two teeth in the back that I was convinced would need to be extracted because they had such large, deep cavities. Dr Park not only prevented them from being extracted, but was able to fill them in office and save them entirely. He is so kind and gentile, walks me through everything he's doing, and answers the firehose of questions I throw his way effortlessly. His reception staff are also outstanding and have been able to get me in for follow up appointments quickly. While I don't think I'll ever "enjoy" going to the dentist, I couldn't ask for a better experience than with Dr. Park. Can't recommend him enough!

I started going here…read moreafter going to another dentist and they told me I needed 12 fillings done which just felt excessive. Dr. Park was honest when I came in for a second opinion and assured me that that number of fillings was not necessary and only filled the cavities that needed them. Additionally, Dr. Park has excellent bedside manner and is very gentle when doing dental work. I was very comfortable during the fillings I did have done (didn't even feel it--and i've had many painful dental experiences as a kid) and he makes sure to keep you in the loop during the process so you're not taken by surprise by anything (during regular cleanings too). He is very transparent about things that you may need to keep a close eye on and provides helpful suggestions for what you can do to prevent issues from getting further. Overall, if you're looking for a dentist to go to in the DMV area I definitely recommend the Parks!
