You can normally get an appointment quite quickly - and the staff are an awful lot more professional than some. An appointment for me will normally take about 40 minutes to an hour as these guys are very thorough. Their glasses are not cheap - they're into all the designer frames (which I am not) but good service and well worth it for the sake of your eyes

I had my eyes tested at Specsavers but…read moreupon learning that the frames I would be getting were the ones that had been on display I decided to try Boots Opticians, this may sound petty but I really didn't think it was right to buy frames that had been tried on by numerous people maybe resulting in them being handled roughly and bent to fit various face shapes. At Boots Opticians the display models are exactly that, display models. They worked from my prescription and the glasses were ready seven days later, they were checked and fitted by a friendly and helpful member of staff. I am very satisfied with the service and would recommend this department of Boots.

When…read morechoosing new glasses they always give an honest opinion on what styles suit you rather on earging you to buy the most expensive pair in the shop. They will ask you what your budget is and find you some well within your perice range. They have made my children comfortable about visiting the opticians and made it a game when they were very little. they have books suitalbe for the little one to look at whist they are waiting to be seen.

I ordered a frame online, automated purchase message said "we'll let you know when your order is on…read moreits way". A week later I messaged their customer service to get an update, no response. I tried the chat function on their website, no response. I sent a message on their facebook page, no response. After my second email to customer service they responded by saying "we'll let you know when it's on its way". I emailed back to ask them to specify if I should wait a day, a week or a month but of course nobody bothered to reply. There's no option to cancel the order so I'll have to talk to my credit card company to get my money back. I'm sure they're lovely people in the store but their online customer service is non-existent.
