I'm giving a rating of 4 stars only because I never actually visited Dr Ed Stein's practice, but I…read morecan tell you that I have known him since elementary school. His dad was a dentist, and the practice was literally in the house where he grew up, so it's not entirely surprising to me that he has chosen this field as his career. Dr Ed was the kid that tried to discourage school fundraising candy sales because he knew the importance of good dental hygiene, but it just did not resonate with most of his classmates (me included). He was a great student in school. Early on in the 8th grade, his penmanship became a foreshadowing of his future physician status because it was so difficult to read. In fact, one of our teachers offered to buy pens for him to write with because he loved to write with very dark pencil for EVERYTHING! I have often wondered if he still uses those pencils? All through middle school and high school, Dr Ed was a trumpet player and a very keen tennis player. Restringing tennis rackets was always his side hustle, which he may or may not still do. Glad to see he surpassed his dad into the field of endodontics. Anyway, I will recommend Dr Ed and if you do decide to become a patient, tell him that you read my review and that "H" sent you. He'll know who that is!

I had my first root canal from Dr. Soto at Endodontics of West Cobb a few months ago. Initially, I…read morewas a little worried about the procedure (after all you hear how terrible root canals are all the time), but I never expected how painless it was and how much of a pleasure it was to be treated at this office. From the minute I walked in, the staff was very helpful and nice. They walked me through the forms and took care of everything. When I went into the office, I met Dr. Soto who is incredibly nice. The procedure was a breeze and you can tell Dr. Soto has done many root canals in her career. I've been given Novocaine from dentists many times, but this was the first time I did not feel it (she does something with your cheek so you can't feel it). During the procedure, you can choose your music, and Dr. Soto talks you through the process if you are interested. If you tell her, she'll even take breaks in the middle. In all honesty, if I ever move away from Atlanta and need another root canal, I'll fly into town to have Dr. Soto work on it. I don't think a recommendation can get any better than that.

However, it was an amazing experience. The staff was so sweet and welcoming, and Dr. Lisa Selem was the best. Everyone walked me through the process smoothly, and made sure I was comfortable and couldn't feel a thing! The operation went well and I am so glad to have had a wonderful team lead me through it. Highly recommend for any endodontic needs!

We're talking "through-the-roof" anxiety-ridden fear. I'd rather get in the ring and deal with the ferocious right hook of young Mike Tyson, than to see that diabolical dental hook coming towards my mouth. A recent visit to my dentist resulted in them scheduling an appointment for me with something called an endodontics office, where I would experience my worst nightmare -- the dreaded root canal. For the days leading up to the appointment I couldn't get the image out of my head of Moe Howard reaching into Curly's mouth with pliers and pulling with all his might. I didn't sleep for days. When I arrived, the staff was terrific at easing my obvious anxiety as best they could. They informed me that Dr. Susie Koagel would be handling the procedure. When she entered the treatment room she was wearing a Florida Gators dental cap. I should mention here that I am a diehard Georgia Bulldog. So the cap was not a good omen. In my mind she obviously knew I was Dawg and was here to inflict as much extra pain as possible upon me. Anxiety levels went nuclear, and procedure began. I will never say a poor word about her Gators ever again. I realize this sounds ridiculously improbable, but on a scale of 1-10 the pain level was a "0". Even when she was giving the local anesthetic I didn't feel a thing. I think it was because she was spraying air (water?) in the area of the tooth while simultaneously injecting the local. However she did it, it was amazing, zero pain. They slapped a set of headphones on me, turned on the TV, turned it up loud at my fear-driven request for drowning out any noise, and got to work. I hung out watching/listening to Field of Dreams. The local had been delivered perfectly because that side of my mouth was completely numb throughout the entire procedure. Again, absolutely no pain at all. I never felt a damn thing. Dr. Koagel is the sole reason I will never fear a dentist or endodontist office again. That's something I never even remotely thought could be possible. For that reason alone, I will forever owe her a debt of gratitude. If you need an endodontist, look no further than Crabapple Endodontics and Dr. Susie Koagel.
