John D. Morgan Park is a hidden gem for both humans and their furry companions! Nestled in tranquility, this park boasts a play area on the North side that's perfect for birthday parties, while the paved walkway accommodates pedestrians and cyclists alike. Under the majestic Redwoods, shade abounds, offering respite on sunny days. With geese adding to the charm and plenty of friendly dogs and owners, it's a haven for canine companionship. parking spaces are enough if you go straight and pass the entrance, there will be another parking lot near when you do uturn!

A car parked in blue zone without displaying a blue placard.

Park is fine, parking is limited on Saturday mornings. Often you can see cars parked in red zones and in blue zones while not exhibiting blue placards. I wish Campbell police would come and fine them. There is no parking available on the streets nearby, which makes it practically impossible for people with disabilities to access the park and its accessible playground.

Nice park. The play structures are unfortunately not shaded. The big kid play structure and the tot structure are not in separate enclosures. I personally don't prefer this at this point in time because my daughter is 16 months and I'm afraid of bigger kids bowling her over when the park gets more crowded. The ground is wood chips where the play structures are, instead of the superior (in my opinion) rubbery ground. My baby girl is still wont to grab fistfuls of wood chips and throw them in the air, so I'm still worried about her getting splinters on the playground. There are some shaded picnic tables and benches. And there are public restrooms. The park has its own parking lot with a decent number of spots. I would definitely come back more frequently once my girl is a bit older.

Lovely park! Kids are having a blast!

10/10! shaded, new, well designed park with restrooms, enclosed fence around, plenty of benches, and water refill!

First review of 2021, and I wanted to make it a 5-star one to start the new year on a positive note! John D. Morgan Park is such a neighborhood gem in Campbell, and a beautiful park for various activities for all ages. It's so rare nowadays to find huge, open parks in our over-developed towns and cities, especially in the Bay Area, so a park of this size that's very well maintained is a wonderful thing! I've run through this park on the paved path, worked out here on the endless stretches of grass, and walked around it countless times with my hubby. It's enormous, it's always a brilliant color of green, and it's awesome! For families or picnic goers, there are restrooms next to the parking lots along Rincon Ave & Budd Ave. There are also large playgrounds for the kiddos by both of those restrooms/parking lots. Picnic tables are scattered all around the park, but mainly by those parking lots and along the paved walking/running path that connects from Rincon to Budd. Also one whole corner of the park is attached to the Campbell School of Innovation with its colorful buildings. Anytime I've come here whether it be a weekend or weekday, there is always plenty of space for all to enjoy. There may be soccer matches or volleyball games in the grass from time to time, but like I said, it's a huge park so there's more than enough space for park-goers to enjoy themselves, get some fresh air, surround themselves with nature, and in light of most of 2020 and now going into 2021...lots of space to social distance from each other!

John D. Morgan park is one of our favorite parks. We have taken the girls (7 & 9) there to play and we have held get-togethers with their classmates there. First thing to be aware of is that this park is really big and it has two parking lots (one on off Rincon Ave and one off Budd Ave). I once made the mistake of parking at the wrong one, not knowing how big the park was, and took a very very long walk to get to the other side close to the other parking lot. The great thing about this park is that it has something for everyone. There are multiple playgrounds with a variety of play structures, bathrooms, lots of picnic areas and BBQ grills, baseball/softball field, lots of very large open grassy areas, and lots of trees. There is a school next to the park that has an awesome play area with some cool play structures that the girls love. Every time we have been there gates to the school's play area have been open. This is one of the best parks in the area and is worth checking out.

    Lovely 32 acre park

Such a beautiful park! It is 32-acres of grassy fields and trees and just an awesome place for a picnic or bbq or to play sports. There is a baseball field, basketball court etc There are TWO large playgrounds, one on each side of the park. The playground by Rincon is better for toddlers and has a big see-saw that multiple kids can climb at a time, a huge rope pyramid, and a water structure. The one on Budd has a tall fort-like structure that is more suitable for older children, but there is also a small toddler structure on that side as well which is nice if you have both to entertain! The Budd playground is more shaded. It is a lovely paved stroll between the two playgrounds. Both playgrounds have bathrooms and parking lots adjacent to them. A few reviews I read before coming mentioned the parking lot on Rincon to get crowded which is true, but there is also a parking lot where Rincon dead-ends that is essentially empty.

This is a huge park with a lot of walking trails and not too busy. Lots of grass and it was nice to see people working out.

The new playground is finished and looks great. Let's have some fun and stay safe!

Love this park!! Fun to see sports teams, family and friends having a good time. New playground looks super fun for kids. It's very relaxing to walk through this park and nearby, especially after a long day staring at a laptop. Thanks, Campbell!

Such a fun, spacious, and beautiful park!…read more I stumbled across this gem due to being in the nearby area. It just so happened to be right after Easter weekend and the plentiful garbage bins were 100% overflowing. With that said, the parks still came off quite tidy. Park visitors clearly made the effort to throw things away in appropriate areas and overflowed garbage bags were placed right along the bathroom building. City workers stopped by shortly after and BAM!! Everything was cleared and cleaned. Doerr Park comes recommended for children of all ages. There is a kiddy area and a more advanced play structure for the older kids in your life. The structure provides a lot of American Ninja Warrior vibes as opposed to your basic swing set and slide. 5/5 stars. This park is so bomb!!!

They prefer this park over the one by their house in Willow Glen. The restrooms are decent. There's always toilet paper, soap and paper towels. There's lots of picnic tables--some covered, some not. There's lots of nice walking/biking paths around the park. There are also tennis courts which people are always using for pickleball. Also basketball courts. Tons of grassy fields to run around. There isn't a parking lot for this park but plenty of street parking.

It's totally surrounded by apartments too, and I drove back and forth on the street for a while and realized there is absolutely zero street parking near the park. I thought I could go around to the other side of the park, but there is no "other side." It's completely hemmed in by a fence on all sides other than the street. I parked right out front near the park name sign (you could fit a whopping 3 cars in that space) but I'm not even sure it's legal because it kinda looks like a loading zone. Other than the parking, it's a nice little park. Plenty of shade and grass (saw a bunch of people with dogs). Small structure with two slides. Sounds like there used to be swings? There's a small section that is caution taped off. A few scattered picnic tables, half of which are in the shade. Some of the ground is the bouncy plastic turf (I have no idea what it's called, sorry) and some is tanbark. It's really perfect for my two year old on a hot day (the shade is excellent, covers the entire play structure, and the play structure, while small, is entertaining enough for her to spend quite a while). However, I'm not going to be back because it's totally inaccessible for people who don't live within walking distance. If I lived nearby, we would come all the time.

There is a 'loading zone' in the front which is essentially where we parked. It's a cute play area for young ones, with some tires to crawl through, one some playground, and a couple swings. Best for age 1-4 I'd say. I loved how lush the whole area area, and they did a lovely job landscaping a small patch of land. Apparently the land used to be an orchard. The whole place is nicely shaded with huge trees, there are little grass hills for kids to run up and down on, and a lovely little bridge, and even under the bridge the ravine is lush with clovers. I also liked the apple shaped seats! There are bathrooms and changing tables.

The park also offers a fun and inclusive space for children, with climbing structures, sturdy cement slides, swings for both toddlers and older youth, a see-saw, merry-go-round, trampoline, and spongy material making up the ground's surface. The occasional squirrel, lizard, and butterfly too. As an adult simply looking for a place to relax while waiting for my car at an auto shop nearby, I was pleasantly surprised to find this park accommodating. Dirt and concrete trails weaving through the garden, lovely vegetation in spring, and a good amount of picnic tables and benches scattered throughout. Also, a shady area with fake grass and seats made out of smoothed-out logs and tree trunks, as well as adirondack chairs where I was able to hang out and nap while I was there. It wasn't too crowded or crazy on a Friday morning, though it got busier as it neared noon time. In addition, the place offers a parking lot and clean restrooms for convenience.
