My condition worsened and I was just worried I was going to lose my tooth. I figured I would just start calling offices and hope they might be open. The lady who answered the phone got me to Shandy to make an appointment in an hour. Amber and Larissa were the assistants who helped me. Dr Lybert and the hygienist Lindsey all helped me. I was in tears and everyone was kind and understanding. Lindsey was absolutely a saint with giving anesthetic and Dr Lybert was so amazing getting me fixed up. I would recommend this office to anyone I know is scared of dentistry or someone just looking to establish with a dentist. I'm so amazed by everyone and the treatment I received. I can't thank the office enough for how well they treated me. I am on the way to improvement!

Second: The clinic was so fully-booked that the dentist, I believe Dr. Carlin is his name, was extremely rushed, speaking with me as though he's had a hit of amphetamines. He and the assistant didn't want to visit a bit, get to know me. Not at all. I felt like a bug. They've got too many patients and too much money to make to be truly civil. The dentist's instructions for aftercare sounded like a disclaimer at the end of a pharmaceutical commercial. Third: They charged our Health Savings card a 3.95% fee, treating it like a credit card. That is BS. They stole almost $40 from our health savings, in addition to getting $1800 for a crown. The finance manager claimed it was the processing company, but I happen to know that at the clinic up in Ruidoso, this fee was waived. I have the paperwork to prove it. Fourth: On my return visit to have the crown cemented in, the assistant was icy. Superficially polite, and quite passive aggressive in her mannerisms and way of speaking with me. Fifth: The help out front obnoxiously rude. One truly feels that one is intruding. Sixth: Their fiendish cancellation fee? How can that be legal? They fill the spot with another person immediately. My finally analysis? They are money-grubbing creeps.

Horrible office staff! I was sent here by the VA. After having two teeth extracted, I was…read moreinformed at checkout that I owed $998.47. I said that's impossible, I'm covered by the VA. They told me that they hadn't gotten authorization from the VA, so I was responsible for the payment. When I asked them to obtain the authorization, they rudely told me that I was from the VA, that I knew how they worked, and that, as a result, I should have taken care of this myself. It wasn't like I was just there on a joyride, having teeth pulled for fun. Because I was caught off guard and didn't know what to do, I paid the bill. They were very forceful about it. When I called billing at the VA, the representative called Alamogordo Dental Group and was informed that they hadn't been In Network since 2025, to my shock. The VA representative also told me that I hadn't done anything wrong and that it wasn't my responsibility to obtain authorization. She told me to contact the patient advocate, who told me to file a complaint with Triwest for fraudulent billing. After reviewing my chart, the Patient advocate informed me that there was, in fact, an authorization for oral and facial surgery and that the extractions should have been covered. It seems like they are billing patients to milk the system; they get more money this way. If they bill the VA, they get a lesser amount since it's a contracted, pre-arranged price. I would not send anyone I know here. The office staff is EXTREMELY RUDE. If Dr. Sam is smart, he should immediately terminate them and find more competent individuals. These people are going to be the downfall of his practice. I am not happy at all. What kind of Dr. starts treatment without first having authorization or discussing payment? Never in my 47 years have I experienced this! Totally ridiculous!

The technicians and dentists are nice but the office manager is rude with an "I don't care"…read moreattitude, and the office staff are incompetent in processing insurance quotes and benefits. Several times we were misquoted what our cost would be, then when checking out the cost was substantially greater and we were demanded to pay on the spot. Not only was the amount higher, it was only an estimated amount as they hadn't even run it through the insurance! Now we are owed money by them, so we'll see how that goes. Do not go here. There is a reason they can't keep patients. If you have no other choice, do not let them talk you into extra services that aren't necessary, and do NOT accept any services until they have run it through your insurance FIRST and provide you with a quote from the insurance, not an estimate. Dr. Mario Samaniego is the owner but is only there on Wednesdays. It's best to speak to him directly if you have any issues because the office manager is of no help and not a nice woman with any sense or value in customer service.

I payed my copays and procedure was done. Months later I was told procedure was not approved by my insurance and i would have to pay remainder of the bill. They kept trying to get it approved with insurance but was told procedure was not medically needed so not approved. This has been going on for a year and a half. Now they keep sending text and emails demanding payment constantly and i thought this had been finally straightened out with insurance company. They act like i'm in the wrong when they were the ones that lied. I will never use this facility again and warn anyone that does to make sure procedures are really approved by insurance company and in writing before procedures are performed. They cannot be trusted. When you are on a fixed income things like this are hard to deal with. These people are heartless.

When I went to the appointment the dental hygienist was unable to clean my teeth due to plaque under the gum line. I had told the dentist that I had recently,(in the last 2 weeks), noticed that I bled more easily and that I am a heart patient. They referred me to a Periodontal specialist in Las Cruces for a cleaning because the dental hygienist said she was unable to do that kind of cleaning and did not have the equipment for such a deep cleaning. When I was paying for the visit I was charged $300.00, when I said it was supposed to be $215.00 the clerk told me and I quote " because they could not do the cleaning and they referred me out they probably wouldn't get me back so it is $300.00". I feel that I was mislead as to what the charges were and that I had no way of knowing that I was going to be referred out and that no one told me that there were exceptions to the cost when I made the appointment such as being referred out. This was information I was denied when I made the appointment so I could not have made an informed consent decision at the time that I made the appointment which is a violation of my rights to give informed consent. I was ultimately charged $312.89 for the visit an over charge of $97.89
