Review Title: PREDATORY BILLING & CREDIT THREATS - DO NOT JOIN…read more I cannot emphasize this enough: DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM. They use unscrupulous business practices and vaguely written contracts designed to trap you into paying for extra months you've already covered. I signed up for a month-to-month membership. At the time of signing, I paid a total of $289.98, which explicitly included a $119.99 payment for my 'Last Month'. When I canceled on December 13th--giving notice 30 days notice.--i called the gym , spoke with two members , emailed them and confirmed I wouldn't be charged again. Despite having already paid for my 'last month' upfront, their billing department (ClubReady) is now trying to double-charge me for a third month I never used and is threatening to report it to my credit. The contract EXPLICITLY shows a 'Last Month' payment of $119.99 made on day one. By threatening my credit for a third month, they are effectively trying to charge me for a 60-day notice period on a 'month-to-month' agreement, which is predatory. Posting so others are aware of what they are getting into. They will wait for the trial class to be over , the runners high to hit, and then try to sell you. Say no , use the free class and move on. Look at knockout fitness reviews ( not a franchised location, but the full business). Youll quickly see why you should just get a workout in and leave. Decent people, indecent business practices. But, Youll find similar reviews all over. Also reporting these practices to the BBB, AG, as well as other platforms for consumer awareness. They'll say its in the contract (its not) and are a predatory business. If there is a response , remember. Businesses are here to make money , consumers protect consumers. Protect yourself and dont sign up for this gym , let alone any other knockout fitness. Have since found a more transparent, non predatory gym thats been great.

WELCOME TO THE HOTEL CALIFORNIA!…read more They just don't understand the concept of CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP! This must be the secret to their wealth! If a person requests a cancellation on their membership due to a sudden financial hardship, shouldn't the company respectfully honor their request? You would think. My son was in a car accident of which he was hit by a car. He's now got some unexpected fees on top of injuries and is awaiting court. This brilliant poor excuse for a company doesn't care and continues to dip in his account monthly. Seriously? Welp! Clearly, if you become a member you stay a member. Like a roach motel. Ya check in butcha won't checkout.

We have been working with one trainer, Patrick, for years so when he moved here a few years back, we moved with him. As for the facility itself, it is such a relief to go to a "gym" where the staff is constantly cleaning!!! And disinfectant is readily available after your training session. Plenty of equipment for all your needs. Whether you are a novice or training for a competition, you will find the right tools to help you with your goals. Now, as it is a training gym, you have to sign up with a trainer. I would recommend talking with a few and see which one best fits your needs, budget and your schedule. Also, you may want to sit in and maybe see a few trainers at work. Again, Patrick is our guy. While he previously helped me maintain a healthy body, he has repeatedly helped me rehab from surgery and injuries. Just this year I was diagnosed with a frozen shoulder. After weeks of professional therapy I finally went back to work with Patrick. His sports background and muscle/bone knowledge helped him create a custom routine for me. By the time I went back to see my physical therapist I was raising by "frozen" hand and amazed my therapist at the amount of progress made in a few weeks. Yeah, pretty amazing!! There are showers for those who need to go to work after their workout and seats for waiting if you arrive early, though your trainer will probably recommend you roll out or warm up to maximize your workout. Oh, and there are a few staff trainers as well as other independent trainers you can work with. Absolutely no reason why you can't find a perfect trainer at the perfect location!

I had contacted the trainer and received no reply, and so I finally reached out and left a message for the staff at Atlas. Chris's wife reached out that night and I was very impressed that they were so quick, she gave me Chris's number and said to reach out to him to get everything figured out. I messaged Chris the next day to see how they can help, per the phone conversation the night before. I sent him all of my text messages showing the personal trainer cancelling, schedule that was supposed to happen, and amount that I paid to this trainer. He said that he would talk to his guys to see about working something out since I paid and received a quarter of the training promised. The discussion with Chris happened on January 7th, I reached back out January 22nd to check in and heard nothing. It is now January 28th and it is silent. I have not received a refund or any makeup sessions with a different trainer as discussed. I am very reasonable and willing to work things out with what they can do to help me, but I am disappointed that I received no update and no messages back on this subject. At the very minimum, I expect to receive an answer - my advice, spend your hard earned money at a gym that actually follows up, cares about clients that come to their facility, and doesn't hire people who can't be trusted.

I hopped on a Precor treadmill and tried to connect my iPhone. No luck. I asked staff on the floor if there was an app. No one knew. I went home and did a quick Google search. Precor uses the Preva app. Downloaded it. The app immediately asked for a club code. I called the Chandler location. Spoke with two people. Neither knew what I was talking about. I called two other locations. Same result. I finally spoke with an assistant manager. They checked with the general manager. Still no answer. Not a single person knew that Precor even has its own app. That alone was surprising. What happened next was worse. The assistant manager told me to call corporate. I did. The person who answered had clear attitude, no answers, and no idea who could help. I was then given the phone number for a local Precor sales rep. That is not a support experience. That is a handoff. I am writing this from two perspectives. 1) As a club member, this was frustrating and disappointing. 2)As a business consultant, this is exactly the kind of frontline failure I would escalate to ownership. You promote premium equipment, but your staff is not trained on basic features members actually use. You promote friendliness, but the experience felt indifferent, plus corporate attitude. You promote community, but new members are left to figure things out on their own. Mountainside Fitness started with smiles and towels. Somewhere along the way, the smiles stopped meaning much. (P.S. gave two stars because the physical gym is nice, equipment is good. But then again, that is the entry level expectation that every decent gym has. Customer service is the differentiator)
