I usually get a lot of stretches and cracks when I come in. When I first started here, I could barely walk without pain due to my hip being out of alignment. In 2-3 sessions, the pain was almost completely gone. He is that good!! You need to come here because Bobby knows what he's doing. He also works with the UMKC and JCCC athletic department so he's experienced with fixing athletes and getting them back to feeling better. First, they tried to ignore severe pain and muscle spams due to nerve damage in my hip that…read moreoccurred during my knee replacement surgery as "a little soreness after surgery." I had to force the issue of effectively treating the situation and it still took them 10 days before they bothered to do the correct treatment that should have been done on postop day 2. This borders on malpractice. Secondly, when I was asked, I told them that I expected to be walking without a cane after surgery. I had been forced to use a cane for about 5-6 years prior to surgery due to safety concerns and the need to preserve what I could of being able to use the knee. My expectation of being able to walk normally was completely ignored. Instead, when I tried to walk without the cane, I was told to keep using the cane. This continued throughout my entire time in rehab. Somehow they thought that using the cane was going to help me be able to walk without it. Even I don't think that's right!! This means that I couldn't really walk when they decided to dismiss me from their care. They didn't care about getting to the correct place; all they cared about was that I could stand and waddle around a little with the cane. That is not good rehabilitation. It is coming up on a year since my surgery and I still cannot walk normally because they never appropriately addressed the problems in my hips that were caused by the use of the cane. Basically they expected me to figure it out on my own. I am going to have to go to a different doctor (not one who is part owner of this facility) and a different PT place in order to get proper medical care. I find that disgusting. I will never recommend this PT facility to anyone. At this point I am unsure if I will ever be able to return to my sport. They do not care about performance. Do they even know what that word means? They only care about money.

I then fell in August of 2020 and several other times at home and finally in April of 2021 it was discovered that I had broken part of the prosthetic and had to undergo another surgery to have it repaired. After having this done I was referred to them by someone that was very satisfied with the services they received from Athletico Physical Therapy. I had undergone the rehab portion before and was not looking forward to it. I knew that it would be hard work to get back my range of motion, strength and flexibility. I am still a patient and Alyssa is absolutely professional, friendly, thorough and efficient. She consistently asks how I am and how things are going, provides me with feedback and an updated home exercise program. I like to swim so she even assisted with giving me exercises that I do at the pool for part of my home program. This has been a terrific experience with physical therapy, absolutely professional, friendly, thorough, efficient and the entire staff treats you and makes you feel like family. They are committed to treating you promptly with integrity, honesty and compassion.I highly recommend them! They will push you in a good way...but listen to you when you say you are hurting too much.
