the entrance to the animal kingdom

Located directly outside of Disneys Animal Kingdom park, (near security and bag check) is the only coffee outpost serving delicious (Joffery's) iced coffee. They also have a variety of fruit slushes and pastries. It's convenient upon entering the park in the morning,- not so convenient when you're already inside of AK, as you need to exit and re-enter. Ask for Michael! He's usually there with a smile on his face serving up the best caffeinated beverage hot or cold. Cheers.

Oversized vanilla donut!

Joffrey's coffees in general lack any taste or imagination. This is a very low brand. Go back to Saint Petersburg, Florida.

Coffee is just okay. We stopped here because of the name and to see if George RR Martin was going to ring us up.

Gideon's Bakehouse - Menu handed out in line

Gideon's Bakehouse

Disney World, Horizons West / West Orlando

There are places you visit. And then there are places that visit you long after you've left…read more Gideon's Bakehouse is the latter. I'll be honest -- I went in with some anxiety. Virtual queues, legendary wait times, the whole mythology around this place. But the day we went the line moved surprisingly well, and here's the thing: the wait is part of the experience. You're handed a beautifully printed, full-color menu that doubles as a keepsake -- one side showcasing their specials in gorgeous calligraphy, the other a piece of souvenir art featuring the characters of Gideon's lore. I held onto mine. The windows lining the exterior look like they were pulled directly from Diagon Alley -- that feeling of stepping into another world begins before you ever reach the door. And when you pass through those giant doors into the interior? The ambiance hits immediately. Artwork, candles, an eerie warmth that shouldn't work but absolutely does. Most places lean on green or purple for an ominous atmosphere. Gideon's chose red warm lighting and somehow made it feel both mysterious and inviting. That's vision. The cookies and cakes are displayed in glass cases like precious artifacts, every label rendered in stunning calligraphy. You don't feel like you're buying a cookie. You feel like you're in an attraction. I got the commemorative tin -- obviously -- along with the cookies and cream cookie and the banana bread cookie. Both exceptional. But the nitro cold brew in French toast flavor stopped me in my tracks. The smoothest cold brew I have ever had, and it delivered on that flavor promise completely. I will go back for that alone. What I didn't expect was how this place would affect me beyond the food. The story of Gideon's -- the dream, the obsession, the refusal to compromise -- genuinely shifted something in how I think about my own goals. That's a rare thing for a bakery to do. Infinitely worth the trip. One of the most singular experiences in Orlando, Disney adjacent or otherwise.

The actual shop is relatively small - a little dark with cute decor - looks like an old library. The cookies and cake slices are huge! We got the original choclate chip cookie, cookies and cream and a slice of Chocolate everything cake? Unfortunately we did not take any pictures of the items we bought. the cookies and cake slices were very decadent. Way too rich for my palatte! Unfortunately did not care for it. It was dense and rich and buttery.

Absolutely gorgeous shop. Amazing artistry happens here and they have 3 kinds of wine slushies…read more Thats right ladies...WINE SLUSHIES. Do it. They are so good. Stop here BEFORE you go into the Disney store and spend a weeks salary on Tshirts and Mickey ears. Honestly the $13 is so worth it. I mean not to have to hear all the crowd noise and to be able to ignore screaming kids and annoying husbands who say your spending too much ... PRICELESS.

There's almost always a line, but it moves fairly quickly, and honestly, it's part of the experience. You can watch the bakers adding the final, intricate touches to each dessert while you wait, which is really fun to see. They do offer a small selection of croissant sandwiches and specialty beverages, but for us, it's all about the desserts. From their signature creations to seasonal offerings, everything is visually stunning and (most of the time) absolutely delicious. That said, while most items are fresh and flavorful, we have experienced a few cakes that were a bit dry and seemed over baked. It's not the norm, but worth mentioning. Anyone else experience this? Yes, it's a little pricey--but it's Disney, and you're paying for both the quality and the experience. Overall, it's still one of our favorite stops every trip and well worth it if you're in the area.

They have tables inside, so we opted to enjoy our food here. Items ordered: Hot chocolate- Good chocolate flavor and not too sweet Macaroons- kiddo ate them but I did not try them Almond croissant- flaky, great almond flavor, and delicious!! Chocolate mousse- not too sweet and texture and flavor were fine. Tarte au citron- yummy lemon tart! Plain croissant- perfectly executed We tried to go back for lunch the following day but the lunch line was insane and they do not offer mobile ordering.

The videos make them look massive and honestly, they are. The size of one's head! See pic for reference. For two adults and one child, we ordered three items, which ended up being way more than we needed. The croissant alone was so huge it probably would have been enough to share. While it was flaky and semi-warm, the chocolate was a bit overpowering and didn't balance well with the pastry itself. (my opinion only) Don't get me wrong it was good. Just not the amazing, life-changing pastry TikTok made it out to be. In my opinion, it's a little overrated. It's definitely fun for the novelty and the photos. My toddler loved it (it was literally the size of her head), so that alone made the stop worth it. I would have to say it is good, but not great. Come for the picture-worthy croissants and the experience, just maybe don't order as much as we did!
