I don't think I've ever had an experience that went so smoothly. I needed someone that could help me with the unknown. It was my first time buying a home. I don't know what to ask and I'm too busy to even google "what do I need to know about buying a new home?" I didn't need to. Joey anticipated my needs based on a few conversations about what we wanted. People would ask me if I was stressed out yet and I kept thinking "maybe I'm missing something. Is this supposed to be stressful?" We met to review the entire process, what to expect, things I should know, who I need to call when, what an escrow is. Everything about his approach was calming. I felt taken care of. I felt like he had my best interests in mind, like he was my Realtor Dad. He has a unique way of picking up on interests. I could tell each time we spoke it's like he somehow mentally cataloged any nuance in our conversation and he'd give me this look like he already knew if I wasn't interested in something. I value that level of efficiency. It's priceless. When we looked at places, he'd teach me what I needed to know about that type of place, the questions I'd need to ask to make sure the home fit me and I knew how it functioned. I didn't need Google or a manual on how to buy a home. I needed a Joey. When I move again, and it's going to happen at some point once I'm done with grad school, I hope I can take him with me because I couldn't work with anyone else after this. No one else would compare. Thank you Joey! read more

Joey Chiappetta - Realtor - Real Estate Agents Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Joey was very professional and his wealth of experience showed. The team was always ready to join me for a showing and ask all of the right questions. I felt very confident choosing a new home with Realocate and highly recommend them. read more

My husband and I were in a tough position of trying to find a house within a 3 month time frame and from across the country (moving from CA to Chicago!) Joey was our savior!! He was a terrific realtor with sending great inventory, going to see places in-person, giving us honest feedback, and trying to make the whole stressful process easier. His team, Adam and Cam, are also amazing and were so helpful. He talked us out of a few bad options because the deadline pressure was getting to us which is a sign of a realtor that really cares. He ended up finding us our dream house in Irving Park on a wonderful street. We're in our 3rd month of living here and loving it! Can't recommend this agency enough! read more

By cosmic circumstance, my wife and I were lucky enough to find Joey and even luckier to have him as our realtor. Joey and Adam were patient and detailed with all their answers to our questions. Even during the difficult times during the process (getting beat out on offers) Joey was able to get as much info as possible and relay that information no matter the time of day. We ended up purchasing a fixer upper and that's when working with Joey really showed me why he's a gem. Through his network, he referred just about every line of business expert that you could possibly need from a plumber, architect, contractor, inspector, cabinetry, etc. He's basically a walking talking Angie's List! We are very happy with our new home and we owe it to Joey and his team. read more

I used Joey and his team for both my purchase and sale, which were happening at the same time- which normally would drive anyone insane. Not only were both processes handled perfectly, Joey was honest, trustworthy, dependable and completely transparent throughout the process and it would never have gone as smoothly as it did were it not for his diligence and professionalism. I recommend the POC team to anyone I can, as often as I can! read more

Joey and his team are GREAT! From start to finish, Joey was incredibly professional, knowledgeable and organized. My husband and I were first time home-buyers and knew very little about the process when we started. Joey made everything easy to navigate. He and his team were incredibly responsive to texts, emails and calls whenever we had questions, and we always felt like Joey always gave us honest answers and advocated on our behalf, even in times when it would mean less money for him in the end. He was direct and straightforward in his opinions about different houses we saw, and really helped us in making final decisions about offers and negotiations. He also linked us with a broader network of people/companies for our loan, home insurance, attorney and inspection - all of which were also great. Awesome from start to finish - highly recommend! read more

I have now worked with Joey and his team on three real estate transactions, and every time they have delivered nothing short of exceptional service and professionalism. They take a process that can be so complex and challenging and work incredibly hard to make sure your interests are put first. They are truly a pleasure to work with, and I can not recommend them highly enough! read more

Working with Joey and Adam was an absolute dream. They made the house hunting process fun and easy, and we couldn't recommend them enough!

I had been trying to sell my Lincoln Park condo on and off for 3 years. I had had two other agents that I felt dropped the ball (although, yes, I realize it is a tough market). and was beginning to fear I would never be able to sell. A yelp friend recommended Joey and I met with him and two other agents before going with Joey because of the marketing ideas he presented as well as his fabulous personality. He did a great job of staging my apartment (so much that some friends wanted to buy some of the stuff thinking it was mine). After 4 days of showings this time, we got an offer! Joey helped me navigate a few resulting issues and was very patient with my nerves through the process until their loan was fully funded. I only wish I had found him sooner. I cannot recommend him enough for anyone looking to buy or sell in Chicago. He's a rock star! read more

Look no further for your real estate needs!! Joey and his team are the best boutique real estate firm in Chicagoland. They know the neighborhoods in and out plus they have a wonderful focus on customer service, to ensure that every client is getting the support and education needed during an important time. Property of Chicago gets my highest recommendation!! read more

After a very frustrating experience with another Chicago broker from a reputable realtor firm I actually found Joey by researching Yelp for Chicago Realtor reviews where he came very highly, passionately, and sincerely recommended by his former clients . My original firm was sending me listings that met my specific criteria however, the problem was when I was counting down to my house closing in Maryland and needed to receive additional critical assistance in finding temporary quarters in Chicago and a local lender willing to invest in processing a mortgage request of a traditionally smaller sum than is worth most brokers time my original broker became unresponsive. So with time running out for my relocation from Washington DC to Chicago to shop for a post retirement condo and getting desperate I placed a call to Joey Chiapetta the week of Christmas and he responded immediately and enthusiatically accepted my challenge and became my Chicago broker. Within days he had located top notch affordable, high quality, safe, pet friendly temporary housing with parking and perfectly situated for condo shopping while getting to know the city AND he also quickily found a very reputable local Chicago mortgage broker who was willing to take on a smaller than average loan request. Within days of arriving in Chicago Joey arranged for me to view my "top tier" favorite condos and fortunately for me I placed an offer through Joey on my number one favorite condo and Joey was able to negotiate an exceptionally favorable price and prompt closing date. So, I am now sitting in what I consider my dream downtown Chicago retirement condo with jaw dropping views of the city and exceeding all my expectations for location, quality, neighborhood, price, access to transport, highest walkability index, very low condo fees leading me to conclude that I feel so darn fortunate to have had the privilege of working with a Realtor of Joey's impeccably high standards of professionalism, service, passion, and accountability. I hope this review can lead many others to Joey Chiappetta's superb Realtor services on your sojourn to fulfilling your future housing goals in the Chicago metro. read more

I've had Joey Chiappetta represent me twice - once as a seller and once as a buyer - and he did a fantastic job in both cases. I'll happily work with him and Adam and team again. read more

My husband and I had the privilege of working with Joey twice. The first when we bought our condo in the west loop four years ago and again when we sold it to move to the east coast. I cannot say enough great things about Joey and the effort he puts in to make you feel as if you were his only client. His attention to detail is incredible and he knows when to give you his opinion and respected ours. The team (inspectors, attorneys, etc.) that he recommended and assembled around us where all extremely responsive and I would work with all of them again. Joey helped us pick the best neighborhood for our lifestyle, which with so many great neighborhoods in Chicago was not an easy task. He remained patient with us while we looked at what seemed to be a million properties until we found the one! When it came time selling our property, Joey put together a fantastic proposal to win our business as if we had never worked with him in the past. The marketing materials alone were impeccable compared to the others we had received. He and his team attended every single showing we had and gave us immediate feedback from everyone that viewed our property. There is no one else I would trust more to negotiate on my behalf and we were extremely happy with the offer we received. I highly recommend Joey and his team and cannot say enough about both experiences we had working with him read more

Amazing service from a stellar team of agents. Joey worked with us to get exactly the home we wanted at the price we wanted. Great communication throughout the entire process. Couldn't have gotten luckier when buying our first place! read more

I am an attorney and I worked with Joey and Adam on a project. I don't usually do this, but I really wanted to leave them feedback because they were incredibly responsive, professional, and terrific throughout the process. I was able to observe them from a distance and I saw that they treat their clients exactly how I treat mine, with patience, respect, and humility. And you can tell that they love what they do- they have a passion for real estate and for helping their clients and it's not just a job for them and it's not about the commissions. I haven't been so fortunate to be a real estate client of theirs yet, but if I were looking for a real estate agent, I would select them in a heartbeat. read more

I seriously can't recommend Joey enough. He helped us through three transactions late 2018/early 2019, and we are highly confident that we basically got the best possible results: 1. Guided us through a multiple-offer situation, and helped us make a strong offer that was accepted. 2. Worked with us through the purchase process, helping us with details large (referring us to a great mortgage broker) and small (why didn't they provide copies of the interior keys?). 3. Did an AMAZING job assisting us with listing and selling our old condo. He analyzed comparable properties, recommended a fair price, and brought in a crack squad of photographers for a great listing. Our condo was under contract in three days. In the middle of November. Astounding. 4. Did yeoman's work helping us get a renter for the second floor of our new flat. At the end of the day, we insanely decided to do three real estate transactions in basically three months. Joey and his crew helped us navigate the whole process. I can safely say that our crazy juggling act would have ended with disaster with just about any other realtor. We've already recommended Joey to all of our real friends and we highly recommend that you, internet person, also retain him. read more

Selling your home can be the worst process. For us, it was headed that direction until we met Joey. Recommended to us by a trusted friend, Joey came by our condo (at the drop of a hat), made us feel heard and understood, and mapped out a plan for how we would sell our condo in Chicago in the dead of winter. One month later, we had a contract and a new friend in Joey. I would consider him a trusted advisor, partner and tireless advocate. I want to pay the recommendation we received forward by sharing a review online to help others. Joey is one of Chicago's best. read more

We found Joey by calling the number listed on a property we were interested in seeing last January. We made it clear that we were just looking and probably wouldn't do anything until March. He was great, not pushy at all and didn't make us feel like we were wasting his time. At the beginning of March we called him again. Now we were seriously looking. While he sent us properties to look at, we pretty much knew what units we wanted. We were deciding between two properties and even though his commission would have been substantially higher for one, he advised us to go with the lower priced property. He said it was a much better value and was in better condition. He was fearless in his negotiating. He negotiated the lowest price for a 3B/2.5B, upper floor condo our building has seen in recent history!! His communication was excellent. Emails and phone calls were promptly answered and returned. Joey was always professional, respectful and polite. We had a very difficult AI. Joey was great in keeping everyone informed and promptly getting required info to both our attorney and mortgage company. We were able to close a week early which was great because we're doing a complete rehab and our contractor could start sooner. Unlike so many agents, he picked us up and drove us to our closing. He stayed throughout. He then took my husband and myself out for a wonderful dinner a few days later! Joey is a class act, a true gem. We were so lucky to find him and will most definitely recommend him to any of our friends either looking to buy or sell their properties. Call him and you'll see what sets Joey apart from the rest, far apart! read more

(tl;dr Knowing he wasn't getting a huge commission at our price point, Joey stuck with us for over a year as we looked at foreclosures. We finally closed in 2/2013 and got a note through the mail slot a day later offering over 30k more than we paid for it so yeah, we're pretty big fans.) My wife and I began looking for a house soon after we moved to Chicago a couple years ago. We knew almost nobody here and had no real estate agent referrals. We called Joey because on a pre-move fact finding trip to Chicago, we had wandered into an Open House he was having, just to see what places looked like here. Knowing we were not in the immediate market, Joey still spent a lot of time talking to us about the market, what we could expect for different price points, etc. We figured a guy who was that cool about helping obvious nonclients would be pretty honest and helpful with actual clients. This review was 15 months, 11 offers and 5 times "under contract" in the making. Joey stuck with my wife and I through all of that , leading us through the process of buying our first home, a foreclosure in Logan Square. That he hung in there through so many weekend showings of gutted hell holes ("Watch out, the floor is gone here" was said in at least two places we looked at), confrontations with angry tenants in falling down multi-family termite lairs and ever-more-farcical ways for deals to fall through is a tribute to his character as a person, not just a realtor. We don't know how much he made on our final sale, but knowing our price range, he must have made something close to minimum wage, if that, after all the hours he put in, and he was chipper and positive the whole time. If it sounds like we are reviewing a friend, we kind of are at this point, since we ended up spending hours and hours with him over such a long period of time. I would never wish our experience on another home buyer, but if you are just starting to look, our advice would be that you just cannot know how long it is going to take and how stressful it can be. It is, as Joey warned us at our first meeting, an emotional roller coaster, and when you get on a ride like that you want to be sitting next to someone who not only knows the ride, but that you like, because you can end up spending a lot of time with them. You are, however, hiring a RE to be the person who helps you make the largest purchase in your life, so being nice is important to your mental health, but not your wallet. We knew almost nothing about Chicago and its neighborhoods when we moved here. Joey talked to us about the kind of lifestyle we wanted (restaurants within walking distance, diverse mix of people, a neighborhood bar to go to but not a nightlife area, public transit access) and helped us narrow our search to a few neighborhoods while talking us into looking at outlier spots that were especially good deals or close to parks that are about to be developed but not built yet. He has an extensive knowledge of many different areas of Chicago and how they are changing. One thing they never tell you: it actually takes a team of people to do the final buying part. Lawyers, finance people, inspectors, etc. Your RE can be a kind of gateway to them, and the people Joey recommended shared his knowledgeable, friendly demeanor. When we didn't hit it off with one loan guy-our phone calls just seemed kind of awkward, like we were talking past each other-Joey told us "Hey, if it doesn't click, no problem, we'll find someone else." This is our first home, and after a long, long process, we couldn't be happier with how it turned out. At first we thought this was how all buying agents were, but having heard a bunch of stories from other folks over the past two years, we feel we really got above and beyond service from Joey and could not recommend him more highly. read more

Joey was my realtor on my first ever home purchase. As a typical newbie to the experience, I had TONS of questions, and he was an excellent resource for me. He was there for me every step of the way, holding my hand when needed. He offered great guidance on several properties that I was interested in and provided me with a wealth of information that I would have otherwise not even thought about. He was responsive, thoughtful, sincere, and well-informed on every aspect of the home-buying process. I would not hesitate to use him again, and have even recommended him to some friends. read more

As home buyers, my wife and I had the pleasure to work with Joey Chiappetta as our realtor. As everyone knows, home buying is a long, often times tedious and complicated process. However, Joey has made the process for us as smooth as possible and now we are proud owners of a beautiful home. Through the process there were some complications which are unfortunate but inevitable. In our case, Joey recommended an attorney and other auxiliary professionals that assisted us in the buying process. Our trust only grew after Joey connected us with these individuals, as they were competent and able to accomplish what we needed them to. Bottom line, I have inherent trust in Joey as a realtor and would unequivocally recommend him and his team to anyone that is in the market for a home. read more

I've never felt compelled to write a Yelp review for anything or anyone -- until now. Joey Chiapetta deserves every one of those five stars. We were emotional about moving out of our home of eight years, and anxious about what the market would be like. Joey came through for us and then some. He was quick to respond to phone calls and e-mails. He was easy-going, yet professional. And boy, does he know this market! His recommended list price was right on target. Joey gave me terrific advice on how to stage the house, and he made sure the place was photographed well. Frankly, my friends and family couldn't believe it was our house! On the marketing side of things, Joey was fantastic as well. High-quality brochures and web listings generated the interest level we were hoping for. And our first (and only) open house brought so much traffic that we had an offer that night! Frankly, our heads were spinning about how quickly it all went. We sold our house before we had a new house. But given how the market has been over the last five years, that's a pretty good problem to have. If you are thinking about buying or selling in Chicago, call Joey. He is knowledgeable, professional, and just a really good guy. I highly recommend him. read more

I can't recommend Joey highly enough. He clearly loves his job, knows the ins and outs of the Chicago real estate market, is always 5 minutes early and wears a smile. He also got us an incredible deal on the perfect house for our family. The best part about Joey is that he's basically the opposite of the typical pushy agent. He helps you evaluate a property by asking questions about what's important to you - not telling you why he thinks a certain place is good or not. He really paid attention to details when we looked at places. He took time to educate us about buying a house without making us feel stupid (and we were, at the beginning). Above all, I felt like we had an agent who was truly motivated to find us a house that we loved because he said it several times and showed it through his actions. He also happens to be a really fun, nice person - looking for real estate on the weekends never felt like a chore. Should we decide to buy again, we'll be using Joey. He's the man! read more

After having a very bad experience trying to sell my condo with another local real estate company I was hesitant to start the process again. I came upon one of Joey's flyers and my husband I decided to meet with him. We had no intention of signing a contract that night but sign we did. We were so impressed with his professionalism and genuine concern for what had went wrong in the past that we wanted to work with him immediately. We have no regrets about the decision. Joey had suggestions for how to make my condo more marketable and offered to stage it for me. He did all of the research and decorating and had it looking better than it had ever looked for a very minimal price. Throughout the time it was on the market he continually gave us feedback on showings and price competitiveness. When I struggled with decisions to make price drops he was understanding and patient with me while I came to grips with the reality of the current market. When my condo sold this October it was because of his hard work. By the end of the process Joey felt as much like a friend as a realtor. Selling my condo in the current market was a hard decision but Joey helped make the process easier on me. I would recommend Joey to anyone looking to buy or sell! read more

One of my client's recently bought a property Joey had on the market, and I couldn't have been more impressed with his professionalism and dedication to his own client. Joey always had their best interests at heart. Whether it's honoring last minute appointment requests, or answering questions at all hours of the day - he does whatever it takes to get the property sold for his client. It was one of the smoothest transactions I've ever been a part of; largely, because Joey made it that way for everyone involved. read more

To say working with Joey was a pleasure is an understatement. His honesty, availability, and sheer kindness was an absolute delight to be met with after a big move from California. He went far beyond what would probably normally be asked of a realtor and I could not be more happy with my new apartment. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! read more

Joey and Adam came into the picture after our first realtor was not able to get us a single bid after 5 months time on the market. I was impressed at our first appointment when Joey delivered an amazing video presentation and incredibly thorough market analysis; he had really done his research which included speaking with other realtors who had successfully sold units in our complex. After Joey and Adam took over there was an immediate surge of walk-throughs coming through our home during what is typically the slowest home buying time of the year. Because of their hard work, wide network of contacts and along with their great reputation and personalities, they were able to generate a lot of interest in our property. We quickly received multiple bids and our closing went smoothly. I give them my highest recommendation and without reservation! read more

Joey (and Property of Chicago) handled the sale of my condo expertly and quickly. When I first met with Joey I explained all of the challenges we'd face, including significant time constraints, if he agreed to sell the property. He listened and responded that he could get it sold - and that he did! What I appreciated most was the level of communication. Personal communication like text messages after showing, etc. And he and Adam were always quick to reply to my many texts and emails. I highly recommend Joey and Property of Chicago! read more

Working with Joey was the best thing my wife and I could've done with our move. We were first-time home buyers and Joey made everything so easy and stress-free. He and his team went above and beyond to get everything pushed through, and quickly responded to the million questions we had. We were also able to close ahead of our initial date which was SO helpful in our case. He even gave us a recommendation for a carpet guy who was also awesome! You'll be in good hands with Joey and his team I promise. read more

My husband and I worked with Joey to buy our condo in April and it was the best experience! He made the buying process so easy by answering all our questions, taking care of all the details, providing names of people to help along the way (attorney, inspector, floor guy, someone to do cabinets and a painter) and always following up on everything. We loved his honesty on places we looked at and he truly knows the value of properties. He was very timely on setting up appointments and always wanted to discuss after, sharing his opinion on what he thought was great about the property but also things he thought we should evaluate about the property. Joey is very passionate about what he does and is an amazing realtor! read more

Joey helped my husband and I buy our first home. Five years later, we asked for his help again to sell the house, which he was able to do in a matter of days! In both circumstances Joey was such a pleasure to work with. He was always professional and made the process fun. We have recommended his services to several friends and they have all shared equally positive experiences with Joey. Joey is incredibly knowledgeable, personable, and gifted in his profession. We loved working with him! read more

Joey and Adam were an absolute pleasure to work with. My husband and I were moving to Chicago from NYC and didn't know where to start. We trusted Joey to describe the pros/cons of all the different neighborhoods we were considering, which he did over email, phone, and in-person. They set up six showings with two days notice, and then another two showings before we found the perfect home. It was the most seamless rental I've ever experienced (this will be my fifth!) and I attribute that to their experience and professionalism. read more

Joey excelled at getting to know us as buyers and in zeroing in on the type of properties we were looking for. He was very familiar with the neighborhoods in our search areas (Andersonville, Uptown, Rogers Park, Edgewater). He was accessible throughout the process and helped to manage things along the way. With his help, we spent just under two months looking at properties, making an offer and closing on our wonderful condo! read more

I've worked with five other realtors and Joey was by far the most professional, intellectual and generally together realtor I've ever seen. My condo wasn't selling and really wasn't in a marketable spot (behind a warehouse). I asked another B&W realtor if I could be referred to a top seller at a B&W near my condo. I was referred to Joey and he was well worth it! Of the five other realtors I've worked with, Joey by far had the most unique marketing ideas, he can process market analytics without relying solely on comps and fancy folders, he's been at it for years and has a strong network and he seemed to always be thinking of interesting ideas to market the condo. I'm sure he had many other properties on the market, but it really felt like ours was a priority. Really a great realtor. The result of Joey's efforts: We had multiple offers, and received 5k above our asking price. In this market, that's nothing short of a miracle! read more

Joey was great from the moment we contacted him. He was very knowledgable about the neighborhoods we were looking at, and was very patient with taking us around the city to get a feel for the areas. We would highly recommend him for anyone relocating within the city or moving from outside to Chicago - he's a great resource! read more
