While most everyone had different food choices, everyone appeared to enjoy their meal. Although we did get our food, the delivery was a bit slow. Ironically, it was the fish meals that were delivered last. However, the 3-piece Dark of Krispy Krunchy Chicken that I had was fantastic! The chicken arrived hot, and it was moist, spicy, and full of flavor. The legendary "Krunch" was a hit for me. The seasoned fries were also good, but a wee bit cold when they arrived. The rest of our group said their food was good too. Now they also had some good looking desserts, but I was too full to even try them - on this visit, maybe next time. If you're nearby, you may know how good the food tastes. If you don't know or if you're just passing through Bolivar, check them out if you want a good meal.

After going back and forth in my head, I decided to go with the fried salmon sandwich with fries and a piece of catfish on the side. I also ordered a freshly squeezed lemonade. When looking at the menu prices, I felt they were standard. When I got my food, I was a bit disappointed with what I received. For $6, I expected the catfish to be a whole filet. I've seen photos of catfish plates where customers received a whole filet, so that's what I was expecting. It appeared that my filet had been cut in half lengthwise, so the portion was much smaller than I expected. Flavor-wise, it was just okay. When it comes to the salmon sandwich and fries, they were both very bland. The fries had no salt or pepper whatsoever. The salmon wasn't much better. I could visually tell that pepper had been added to the batter, but the fish itself hadn't been seasoned. Aside from the pepper, I'm not sure the batter was seasoned either. Additionally, the sandwich didn't come with any toppings or condiments, so it was very dry. I did ask for tartar sauce and ketchup packets, but I only received two tartar sauce packets, which wasn't nearly enough for both the sandwich and the catfish filet. I felt that the salmon was fried perfectly, and I did enjoy the crunch, but for $13.50 I expected it to at least come with some lettuce or pickles--or at least the option to add them. I'm not sure if the lemonade was freshly squeezed or not, but I didn't notice any seeds or pulp that would indicate it was. It tasted good, though, so no complaints there. If I were to try them again, I'd get the salmon grilled instead of fried, and I'd probably try the whole catfish instead of the filets. The food wasn't bad--just underwhelming.
