Here's my story. i visit my local Goodwill Thrift Store most Tuesdays for the senior discount. I noticed this gentleman looking at this fine piece of pottery located on the end cap with other fine looking items. I had to wait a minute, walk down another isle to pretend i wasn't interested, until he put it back on the shelf. I quickly retrieved it before anyone else could. It was flawless! I don't think it has ever been filled. I'll remedy that. I did a web search for this item and the artist. Could not find it anywhere. So I called the artist, Joe Winter, and left a message inquiring about it's history. To my surprise he called back that evening and left a message with the history of this Ritchey Growler. It seems in 2012 the COO of Ritchey commissioned approximately 10 of these for the employees of Ritchey Bicycle. I called Joe back the next day and he was happy to chat for a while about the growler and it's history. He's a very friendly guy. I plan to visit his studio the next time i'm in the area. He also mentioned he has made growlers for some of the local breweries in the Reno/Sparks. Time for me to start a collection! And that's my story........I'm sticking with it. Thanks Joe! read more
