I posted to the local community Facebook page for a reliable electrician and Bill Stover of PGH Electrical Services was recommended numerous times. Bill is the independent owner and operator for PGH Electrical Services and is licensed and insured. I reviewed his Facebook page and found several positive reviews. I messaged Bill around 10pm the night of the fire department visit and he responded right away. He visited my house the very next day (a Saturday) at 9AM and looked through our house and evaluated the situation. He identified the problem of the overloaded circuit quickly and proposed a solution that day. We had one other electrician visit the house for the same proposed work, and he didn't suggest the options that Bill provided and was going to do more damage to our ceilings and walls than what Bill proposed. Bill's pricing was competitive from speaking to others who had recent electrical work completed. We knew we wanted Bill's expertise for the job! The only criticism I have for the business is that it can be hard to contact Bill regarding proposed work and getting some preliminary questions answered. I attribute that to his busy schedule and him always being on the go, though. Bill arrived on time on the scheduled start date for the work. He was careful to remove his shoes while walking through my home and wore boot covers over his shoes when necessary. He was friendly, professional, diligent, and very hard-working. He took his time to make sure he thoroughly understood the various circuit connections for each breaker before starting any new work. He thought outside the box when working to minimize any new holes that needed cut into the walls or the ceiling. He also replaced the drywall sections that were cut and patched the holes when he was done. He brought a vacuum and would sweep up any dust or debris that was created from running new wires in the walls. I appreciated that greatly since I have a small dog that I didn't want to step in the debris and I have asthma. Plus, no one wants dust and debris tracked through their home! Bill exceeded expectations when he installed a new light fixture where a plain lightbulb was located in place of the light that the firefighters had to pull out of the ceiling. He also checked out my garage and identified a faulty light switch that was sure to cause more issues down the road. He replaced both during his work and neither were part of the original scope of services. He also did it without additional charge. Bill completed his work as anticipated within the two-day timeframe, too. I would highly recommend Bill and PGH Electrical Services for all your household electrical needs. His quality of work exceeded expectations and I'm so happy that we chose him to fix our electrical problems during what was a very scary time for my husband and I.

It was a hodge-podge of different kinds of Romex, open junction boxes, and a breaker box & fuse box combo on the upper level. What Dan and his assistant Tony (?) did: 1. Replace the combo breaker & fuse box with a proper service panel 2. Rewire the lower level garage inside lighting, replacing the switches and power outlets with new hardware 3. Install a second light switch on the lower level for the flood lights outside the garage. 4. Replace a 4-way light switch in the house with an in-the-wall programmable timer. One hundred percent of the work was unusable. After further investigation, I discovered that Ray is not licensed or insured and does not hold a valid Home Improvement Contractor license. Had this been disclosed upfront, I would never have allowed him on the job. When I started calling Ray out on the poor workmanship and asking for answers, his attitude immediately changed. Instead of fixing the problem, he became defensive and evasive. The situation escalated when Ray entered the property without authorization, which was captured on my security cameras, went into the basement, and removed the boiler. We are now dealing with attorneys, court fees, and court proceedings as a result. He is extremely unorganized, constantly pushes jobs off, and drags timelines out endlessly. What should have been a straightforward job turned into nearly three months of delays and excuses. Do not use this company. Stay away. Buyer beware. Don't say I didn't warn you.
