    I came up

Amazing customer service. Such great fines and willing to help you to get what exactly you needed.

    Good selection

Easily one of the coolest stores I've ever visited. Jockamo Records is located on the outskirts of downtown Ventura and offers a bit of solace to the craze just a block or two away. It's located across from a large free parking garage and is in a cleaner part of downtown. It offers great frontage onto the main road but still feels like a small boutique. I stopped by here the other day with a friend who lives nearby. There were a few staff members and they were all friendly from the get go. We were greeted warmly and were offered assistance. I enjoyed the personalized experience. The record selection is downright impressive and there is a little something for everyone. The records are broken down into genres and were all neatly catalogued in alphabetical order. I took a close look at the classic rock selection and was amazed at how many artists I could find. They had them all - and the prices were very affordable considering you're investing in an antique. I didn't purchase anything but did gain a new appreciation for old records. I may have to acquire a record player for myself and if so, will most definitely do business at this awesome little shop.

There's a nice collection of rock in here

6 récords for $45!!! What a steal!!! If you can't find something don't worry the guy working has a list of everything in the store they also sell a-track and cds. The store is clean which I like, it's just difficult to look through the records that are on the floor they definitely need more space but maybe that's why it feels like home in there actually pretty cool.

Huge selection, friendly staff. Was helpful on the phone and held the record aside for me, so I could pick it up the next morning.

I've visited many antique stores with varying booths, but Antique Adventures is definitely one of the tidiest and cohesive to explore. Booths are clearly marked and associates walk the aisles should guest have any questions or need assistance. I did! I asked to please see a vintage MCM bar/stereo system that was hidden in a console. 'Of course!' was the quick answer. The piece made my heart happy, being a fan of MCM, but the owner/seller had it attached to a electric "fireplace," trimmed in "brick" that seemed more 80s. I asked if it was just resting atop for display purposes but, no, I was all one large piece. Bummer. I'm guessing the top console lost contact with its legs and this was an improvised fix. I have been interested in finding a record player and a bar cart to match our Mid Century furnishings, so this may have fulfilled both wants, but it was a pass. Very cool, though. Hubs found a treasure he had been seeking for a couple of years, a DVD of a "no longer broadcast-able" episode of "30 Rock". For a couple of bucks, he was a happy hunter. LOADS of cool jewelry and also some true estate sale finds. I'm always surprised when something I see jolts a memory from the recesses of my foggy brain. A couple of weeks ago it was a Raggedy Ann and Andy lunchbox priced at $30 - WITHOUT the thermos! Mind you, this was the era where we couldn't drop our thermos for fear of the interior glass shattering, resulting shards of glass slicing our throats with the first gulp. Hmmm....wonder if that was one of those "stories" meant to scare us into caring for our possessions??? Anywho, seeing that lunchbox awoke something and I shuddered to think why the thermos was missing. Today, of all things was an unusual wall hanging sculpture of a branch of flowers, painted gold and white that hung over the head of my yellow daisy canopy bed. Someone else had THAT hanging in their home?!? Weird to think and made me chuckle. Aside from the friendly folks and easy to navigate aisles, there are a handful of parking spaces in front, but PLENTY of parking in the back lot and along the street. We'll definitely keep Antique Adventures on our "to visit" list for each time we're in the Ventura area. Maybe I'll be a lucky treasure hunter like Hubs. Cheers! "CC"

The store is large and well organized, with sections for home décor, electronics, books, shoes, men's, women's, children's clothing, and toys. There's also a wall of vintage/on-demand pieces, which are priced significantly higher, and some higher-quality items are kept behind the counter. You can score a deal if you're lucky, but some pricing may cause sticker shock. Bags must be checked in at the front, which helps with loss prevention but is good to know ahead of time. A few things to know before you go: * Free parking in the lot behind the building * Open daily, 9 am-6 pm * No tag, no sticker, no sale * Donation pickup available * Donation drop-off behind the building with a designated parking space There aren't any savings boards, but while there are no official sales, items that have been on racks or shelves for a long time may be slightly marked down. One downside is that some inconsiderate shoppers leave areas messy, which can be frustrating, but the staff stays on top of it and works hard to keep things tidy. Overall, it's a solid thrift store with a big selection and heavy foot traffic.

After reading the other reviews about how everything is stored in rat shit filled containers and the owners are filthy rich. I believe it. I will not shop here anymore. They are ripping off people who are just trying to shop second hand. I don't believe they donate any money or items to a good cause. I think they are capitalizing on the "thrift craze" they must be billionaires by now. This place is the worst. Please take your money elsewhere!!!

People go to play different formats, and the owner sets the tone and is the barometer for the "weather" in general. Friendly, welcoming shops tend to build stronger smoother sailing communities. I didn't get that here. When I asked about local EDH events, I was told there's one Commander night. That's cool but I only play edh so I'm curious for other areas. When I asked about the broader EDH community, the owner was dismissive and overly corrective. It felt closed-off rather than supportive, especially when he made it clear he doesn't promote anything beyond his own store. That approach doesn't work for me. I prefer spaces with a more open-minded, generous vibe, not a "there can be only one" mentality. As an old-school player, I value basic respect and being part of a positive, inclusive nerd community. I'll look elsewhere.

I can easily spend 2 hours here perusing the aisles of all the goodness BN carries. (I just recently came for some Harry Potter merch and a planner for next year.) Service is not what it was once was, sadly. But I am old so I remember the good ole' days with fondness. Today, it's basic enough. Thankfully, one doesn't get screamed at across the store of "Welcome!" as it happens in other businesses. Most employees I saw were behind the registers when I was looking around. I did see one employee on the floor, but she was laser focused on something. Prices are on the higher side, thanks to the current state of the economy. However, I feel that the books and other items are of good enough quality to somewhat warrant the $. Be sure to check out upstairs. Also, just a thought, grab a snack or one of the Starb cookies on your way out. It's OK. It's good. It's books. It's BN. :)
