A warm and welcoming greeting ever time, has given way to referring others to use their service, whatever the need may be. As I did then, I do now highly recommend this garage to those wanting a top job done. From a change of tyres, auxiliary/timing belt, brakes, MOT or Service, the overall work has been exemplary. Droping the car off in the morning and getting that call a few hours later to let me know the car is ready, I have always left a satisfied customer. Being a family man, too, my concerns have been put to rest with the assurance that "No car leaves their forecourt if they believe it's not road worthy." I found them at random in the Yellow Pages, while looking for a local garage - they specialise in Volvos, and so having one myself, they seemed ideal. I'd always been a bit wary when using a garage for the first time without recommendation, especially as a woman - would they see me coming? But I needn't have worried here. They always take time to explain what needs doing, and never seem to carry out any unecessary repairs. Their invoices are clear and easy to follow, and prices are excellent - if you have a Volvo then they can usually source reconditioned spares at very good prices. When I showed my bills from Gelder's to my dad, who works in a garage at the other side of the country, he confirmed how reasonable they are. My Volvo has long been relegated to the scrap merchant, but I've continued to use Gelder's, as they will repair other car makes too, although it might take them a bit longer to source spares. They don't do MOTs, but they have an agreement with a MOT centre nearby, so they can usually complete the process within the day provided not too much needs doing. Highly recommended!

I then decided to take my Volvo V70 for a full service. During the service they contacted me to inform me about a bush on the suspension that was just starting to wear, but they said it does not need replacing yet. I already knew about the wear on the bush as it was pointed out to me at the cars MOT at another garage, this filled me with confidence as they have obviously given the car a good check over. They also re-gassed my air conditioning that I have had done twice previously at Quick Fit, but never noticed any real improvement when Quick Fit carried out the job. Since Ja's Auto Services have re-gassed my air con it works like new and the car is cool in minutes. In fact, they didn't charge me for many things. I am a fastidious person and before this visit I have been to more than garage, all of them told me that I have not problem, only this centre were able to diagnose it perfectly. The Customer Service they deliver is outstanding and deserves 5 starts. I have experienced this with near breach to my house (Hillsborough), they are great in making loyal customers not just just make profits to Halfords.
