This past Aug. 2020 in the middle of a global pandemic my wife and I thought it would be a good idea to try and capitalize on the low interest rates while they were available. I decided to go with on of my close friends who works at Citi Bank as they had some of the better rates out at the time that we could find. While going back and forth with him sending in all the documents required for a new purchase it just kept getting delayed over and over again due to the influx of applications from others trying to also purchase and or refinance their homes too. After about a months time we asked to just refinance our current home rather than get approved for a new house thinking this would be easier and we really did not need to buy a new house as ours is just fine already. Welp, this refinance too was just a back and forth game of sending the same documents over and over with nothing but delays and frustration. Being good friends I asked him what is the likely hood this gets done in the next 30 days or so as it has now been almost 3 months of working on it and sending the same docs multiple times. He was honest with me and said he really did not know as Citi Bank had a lot of deals in cue for refinance and or new home loan approvals and he too was losing faith that this would get done in a timely fashion. This is when he reached out to Jocelyn for help. Now it is not normal for one loan agent to send a customer to a competitor but since he was my friend he was really just looking out for my best interest. As soon as we were put in touch with Jocelyn she was on top of things and was very professional with extreme attention to detail.
