When at JoAnnes in Tyler I asked an employee if she could recommend a place to have my sewing machine serviced. She recommended Sharman's Sewing Center. I took my sewing machine to Sharman's to have it professionally serviced. It was not broken and I was not having any issues with it. After 3 weeks and no call from Sharman's I called Sharman's and was told it was not ready . Sharman's did asked if I would pay to replace my broke foot peddle. ? I was told It looked like I had tried to fix my it with a dowel rod. ? I told Sharman's there was nothing wrong with my foot peddle and the damaged one was not mine. 5 weeks after i took my sewing machine to Sharman's I got it back . IT HAD NOT BEEN SERVICED AND IT WAS BROKEN! I did not get my foot peddle back instead I received a foot peddle that has obviously been repaired. It has tape and a silver screw on one side that was used to " fix it". I also got my sewing machine back with a "needle plate damaged beyond repair" and a "damaged slide plate"! My slide plate has to work because that is where I fill my bobbin! It was not broken when I took it to Sharman's!! I do not fault JoAnns at all for my experience with Sharman's! The women at Joann's was courteous and just being helpful. But lucky me Sharman's DID NOT charge me.!! I won't be back to Sharman's. I don't think I'm the first to have this experience nor do I think I will be the last. I just hope you are not next. Brenda D. read more

The JoAnns in Tyler is so nice!! Excellent service, great selection, friendly staff. The only downside for me is how far it is from me. 1hour drive. I wish they would open a store in Longview. There is no store for quality merchandise in Longview TX. read more

The new store in Tyler is fantastic.....my rating goes particularly to the manager who is super friendly, helpful, and efficient. He jumped in to help cut fabric when it was busy and opened a cash register to help up front....he has made me a new loyal customer! read more

I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews here. This new Joann location is one of the nicest I've ever seen. And it's in TYLER! Everything is bright and well-organized and the staff are super friendly, especially the manager (I assume?) who is always smiling, saying hello, and asking about your latest project. Joann has never been a super budget-friendly craft store, but you can't beat their selection for fabric, notions, jewelry-making, and other textile-based supplies. I'm so glad they're here. read more

This company is very frustrating! The ads are misleading and items are not always marked as you'd think they would be. It seems the notifications disappear and unless you have the app downloaded they do not honor the discounts if you cannot find the email. Reception In the store is horrible which takes forever to download the app if the kind clerk has offered to allow you to do so. Joann's- be kind to your customers! If the promo is there and the customer knows about it, give them the discount !!!!' Hire some more employees for your busy days! It shouldn't take forever to have your fabric cut, and there should be more than one clerk to work the front registers!!! Hate going here but there are limited opportunities in Tyler. read more

Worst fabric store in Tyler!!! Went to buy three yards of a certain fabric and the sales girl told me that there were three yards and one inch left on the bolt. Did I want to buy the one inch? I was speechless that they would try to sell me the one inch. When I told her I needed three yards, she took the one inch off and put it aside. WHAT WILL THEY DO WITH THIS ONE INCH? Sadly this has happened THREE TIMES!!! On several occasions, the same thing happened at Hobby Lobby, however, the salesperson threw in what was left in the bolt that she knew would be thrown away. Love the salespeople at Hobby Lobby!!! HATE shopping at JoAnn's and will only go there when I am desperate. read more

I just love this new store!! Lots to choose from. You can browse almost all day! So happy you are in Tyler!!

The biggest JOANN store we've ever seen. Great selection of fabrics plus everything needed for sewing plus lots of other craft and accessories. Overall a great store with great people. read more

A friend and I visited this store for the first time today---we live 90 miles away. The previous reviews made me a little apprehensive about what to expect as far as customer service. However, all the workers we met were very helpful and friendly. It took two of them to cut our large order, and both were professional and patient. These ladies, and the cashier as well, were very helpful in regard to using coupons that I had printed. They made sure I found a coupon on my phone to get an extra 50% off on another item. read more

Have been to many JoAnns around the country and this one has the worse customer service. There are maybe one or two of the younger group that tries to help. But the older women and manager act as if you are a bother. I would rather drive to Dallas and get better service and selection. read more

I agree with the other reviews. Their customer service needs to be improved. Last time I was in I politely told the cashier she needed to improve. We'll see if that hit home and she improves read more

It was good to have the time to wander thru the aisles and plan all my craft projects. Helpful staff. As good as other Joann's I've visited. read more

Terrible service and that was just the manager. Won't be back. Hate that they can't/won't work on their customer service and how they treat and talk to people. I won't be back. I'll pay more and drive further to be treated like a customer and not an interruption . read more
