Really long line today, but a young friendly & fast staff member got the line done quickly. I really appreciated that she told me how I could save more money downloading the store app. Most of the time the lines take forever so I restored a star in my review. This store seems to have everything since they updated their name. Fabric section is the biggest part. I was disappointed that all of their summer home decor was gone & replaced with Fall...it's only July. So they lost a star for that. read more

Shelves are fairly empty but I do understand with the pandemic things are hard to get so it's not even really the problem. I'm just learning how to do some knitting things. I went to the front desk and asked if the women knew if they got any thicker yarn in sometimes. She didn't even look at me just said I don't know and gave me my total. I get a lot of people had to take jobs that they could to get by and I know they aren't always what they hoped for but seriously a I can check or I apologize I'm not sure maybe look online instead of just acting like I was the biggest annoyance to you. Going to Joann's makes me miss Fabric Depot more than I already do. While I could easily give the helpful, good natured girl at the cutting counter five stars, I can't give the store or check-out staff more than two. The fabric remains high priced, the coupons (seemingly usable) always have a catch, and consistently the check out staff is bland, lifeless and seem to enjoy the pseudo authority they have to deny you the use of a coupon. Check out staff makes no effort to direct a person to a better deal or voice any understanding of the misleading small print in a Joann's add. I guess it's online or Mill End from now on. read more

visited from Canada & was looking forward to going to Joann. however, upon entering the store (it had been a few years since my last visit), I was shocked at how much their fabric inventory had diminished! I bought a cricut machine bundle for my wife for Mother's Day at Joann craft place @783 Lancaster Dr Ne salem Oregon and when I bought it , I asked the cashier if my wife does not want it can she return it and she said yes but after the covid-19 they accept returns so today is May 27 2020 and I go in to return it since my wife did not want it and the said they charge restocking fee of $25.00 so people if you decide to buy stuff at joann's like cricut or any other machinery THEY WILL CHARGE YOU a restocking fee just to walk approx 20 feet to put it in there locked up area. I don't recommend NO one to shop there it is a hustle they got going on since Hobby Lobby is next door and taking there customers since they are cheaper. My boyfriend and I went to JoAnns to get materials for a no-sew blanket, when we went to checkout, Ana showed us multiple different coupons and saved me $20 at checkout. Since this pandemic started Joann employees have been amazing. Continuing to work with all the changes! They have had to deal with rude customers that are inconvenienced by waiting in line to get in! Overwhelming about of work that has increased for them. I have been four times in the last 6 weeks and am always impressed and thankful for the employees. I was charged 3 times for an item I never received because they said my card didn't go through. I checked my account when I got home and there were 3 charges. I called the store. They said I had to go through my bank. They couldn't refund me. I contacted my bank. After a couple of days, my bank denied refunding 1 charge thinking I probably had the product. So I went back to Joanns. They said I had to call corporate. I did. They offered me a $10 gift card. My time is worth more then that. After several emails. They said I could get a refund at the store. I called and left a message with the district manager and haven't heard back. I will not be shopping there again. read more

I ordered 4 yards of a specific fabric so I could make my grand daughter a dress for her 5th birthday party. Ordered it July 23rd...got ONE email saying your order will arrive tomorrow (August 1st) it didn't show up until August 5th and by then was too late to get the dress made and sent to Alaska for the birthday and tried to contact Joanns about it and all I got was some associate texting me saying we understand, your oder will arrive soon. And then said if it doesn't show, please let us know. I asked for a full refund and have yet to hear from anyone. Now I have 4 yards of fabric I have no use for! I already went to Craft Warehouse and found much better fabric and got the dress made and sent to her! I still want a full refund Joanns. Horrible customer service! read more

I went in to buy some Insul-Brite to make potholders. I asked the worker if they had any and she pointed to the corner where the batting was. I told her I did not know what it was could she show me. She stepped away to look for someone else and then said to me, "let me finish what I am doing". I told her I would head in that direction and then she found someone else to help me. This is not acceptable to tell the customer that I had to wait for her to finish what she was doing. They have always been very helpful in the past. read more

Jo-Ann's has really great clearance sales on all kinds of items from picture frames to swarovski crystals to Martha Stewart crafts (note to couponers: Martha's Living magazine sometimes has 20% off coupons that you can use at Jo-Ann's). Although the service at this particular location couldn't be called gracious (more like harried), I do appreciate the staff as they are fairly knowledgeable and helpful. read more

This is literally my favorite store. It has everything I like to look at, and I hate shopping for most things. But Joann's is refreshing. Deal season- buy 2 get three free on stamp pads or accessories added to my stamp ink pad collection. And as I mentioned, I love it. I could spend a million dollars in here, though it's not that pricey, and about four hours at least. read more

I stopped in today to purchase an iron. I had researched on line, their price was around $100.00, same as the same iron on Amazon. I took the box up to the cashier and asked her the price, since it wasn't on the box or posted in the aisle. She told me the price was $149.95. Hmmm, I mentioned both the on-line price and Amazon's identical price....she leaned forward and told me to save money by purchasing from Amazon. All of this while standing under the sign that proclaimed thar Joanne's would price match any other retailer! I went home and ordered the same item from Bed Bath & Beyond. With their 20% off coupon it was $79.00, and free shipping. So much for an employee loyal to the store! I won't go back. read more

Take a number as soon as you come in (unless there is no line..rarely) If you are there for crafts..might be good but for a seamstress not so good. They finally have some descent knit fabric. All they had before was beaver and duck prints or very juvenile prints. And yes they don't help you too much as it usually is crowded. I try to go in first thing in the morning. It is sad but fabric for sewing is becoming harder to find...unless you are a quilter. I'm chicken to drive up to Mill Ends on Milwaukie..been on that road before..you miss your turn..good luck! read more

From an outsiders perspective this store provided consistent quality service. Im a mechanic, I know nothing about sewing. Which is why when my fiancee is in a panic because she needs to meet a deadline these guys were nice enough to stay open late and make sure she got what she needed instead of closing the doors on us, made my night a lot less stressful. Then two days later she has me call the store looking for a piece of equipment that a nice gentlemen named Matthew found after I explained what it was. Not only did he make sure they had the right part in stock he greeted me with a 50% off coupon and saved my Fiancee $150. Good work dude. You made my girls day. I spent quite a bit of my Friday afternoon waiting around in Jo-Ann's because they were incredible understaffed. All I wanted was a couple yards of fabric cut. The first time I came in around 2. I went straight to the fabric area, picked some out and walked over to the cutting station and pulled a number (like the DMV). There were several people waiting around, but I didn't think it would be a long wait. That was until I looked up at what number they were on and down at the number I pulled. I ended up waiting for about 35 minutes until my number was called. As I was walking out I realized that I needed fabric for something else. I raced straight to pull a tag again, thinking not too many people could have pulled one since I had last pulled mine... WRONG. My second round of waiting lasted 2 HOURS! I actually had time to shop the store some more, run home and let me dog out, walk next door to Pier One an walk around, and walk back and I still had to wait! They only had two people cutting fabric. When I went to checkout and pay for this fabric my second time I made a very polite comment about the service and wait time. The cashier was rude and laid into me about someone calling in sick. While I totally understand how that goes, my gripe really wasn't the wait time, it was the fact that there was not a single acknowledgement from the staff about the waiting or evening a "thank you for your patience we are a little short handed today". That is customer service or at least what I was taught to do in a situation as this. What made it worse was the supervisor, I believe her name was Jeri or Jan (couldn't read her tag well) was rude and snarky to just about anyone she helped. I watched her bite the head off an older lady and gentleman just for asking a question about the wait. I am giving the place 3 stars today, while the selection is really good and the store is huge, the service is lacking and that is ultimately what matters to me. I will take my business elsewhere when I need some fabric next time. read more

Super happy to arrive at the cutting counter and only had one guest in front of me. While she was being helped with her multiple fabric cuts, I waited and waited and waited, while I watched 2 other employees behind the cutting counter taking in their time wrapping up fabric rements. Is their only one person in the whole store who can cut fabric? Meanwhile the line behind me is growing longer and longer. Finally after 15 minutes of this lack of customer service I decided not to spend my money in a store that cannot train their staff to help the CUSTOMER. Do they not understand with out us there buying the fabric they wouldn't have a job! read more

This is a good one! LOTS of fabrics and crafts. They have some nicer end fabrics like Dwell Studio Home which is great. They also have tons of flanels and quilting batting and different items like burlap... cool. The place is clean and bright. I bought my sewing machine there and they were nice enough to take it to the front for me. The staff so far have all been great. read more

Anyways I was with my grandma and friend. We were fabric shopping gn for fabric to make a blanket. I sew mostly with batiks and while Joann's selection is small, it's quality. I shop at other places for most of my batiks, but I check JoAnn's first and I always check here when I need prints are fleece. Everyone that I've encountered that works there is incredibly nice, patient and friendly and they even helped me download the Joann app on my phone so I can get their fabulous coupons. Even though their batik section could use great improvement, this store gets 5 stars because of everything else they offer, especially the wonderful employees. read more

Singularly unimpressed. Things are *very* hard to find. I don't want to bash the poor harried staff, but I do think the other reviewers are onto something commenting on their lack of graciousness. I attribute this to poor morale because of a couple of other things that are major problems: one, the management. The manager today was a young, cocky, complete jerkoff who looked at our coupon *from the national level of JoAnn's* that clearly said "any regular or sale-priced item" - and refused to honor it on a sale remnant. Any *means* any, folks, and management should be not only empowered but OBLIGATED to honor something like that in the hands of a customer - especially one who's obviously on the store's mailing list. Second, the IT department/stocking. Nothing ever seems to be in the computer right: the coupons don't ring up correctly, and the prices in the computer have so far matched the ones on the shelves about 25% of the time. This time, actually, the error was in our favor - register price being lower than the shelf price. JoAnn's, you seriously need to spend some time, effort, and yes, money off of top mgmt salaries and stock payouts to beef up your infrastructure and have a couple of mgmt training seminars or PowerPoints distributed via email. I work in IT project mgmt, and JoAnn's IT to business connect is seriously substandard. We won't be going back save for a free item any time in the near future. read more

I went to Joann's last week to get fabric for a project and waited for an hour to get it cut. They cut the fabric 4 inches shorter on one end than I asked for. When I went back they told me I had to pull a number again and wait in line again (this time the line was much longer and likely would have been at least another hour wait). They definitely need a better system when they are the ones that made the mistake in the first place. Will not be returning. read more
