There is now a sign out front with a painted quilt block dedicated to the two of them, BJ and Jessica. The shop itself no longer exists.

(Okay, you called my bluff! Yes, we did.) Firstly, Center Diamond has a fabulous selection of fabrics and the prices are more reasonable than you'd expect. The fabric is sorted into themes and by color-- a feast for the senses! Maybe it's because I've spent most of my time at Joanns (R.I.P.) I was delightedly surprised that they carry flour sack towel fabric. It had never occurred to me to make my own kitchen towels! They have an extensive variety of tools and notions as well as fun vinyl decals to showcase one's sewing love. There's a great selection of patterns with finished samples for inspiration and several kits and a mahoosive selection of stackers, fat quarters, and jelly rolls. The staff was wonderful here! They were incredibly friendly, helpful, and fun. We bought a pattern and they even printed it out for us. My daughter and I can't wait to return! If you're a fabric crafter, do yourself a favor and stop into Center Diamond, you won't be disappointed!

There was also a large choice quilt patterns and a file of free patterns. The classroom was buzzing with happy students. The place is warm and friendly. I have been shopping at Boersma's for at least 15 years. The staff are friendly, the store is well…read moreorganized, and I don't feel pressured to buy anything or hurry out. Boersma's has a huge selection of fabric. What I have noticed lately is that the colors of fabrics are drifting towards "dull." I quilt with bright fabrics and they are becoming hard to find at Boersma's. I prefer to shop in a physical store rather than online, but with the closing of so many fabric/quilt shops there are limited choices of where to go. If Boersma's does not stock bright fabrics, I may need to turn to the internet. Shopping for fabric on the internet is iffy. I have received some wonderful fabrics with colors and patterns that I love, but I have also received some fabrics that had I seen in person, I would not have purchased. I really like Boersma's, but need more variety in brightness of fabrics.

I found my wonderful Sewing Teacher here and I've been quilting for a year and a half and sewing with her. I have almost finished three quilts and I'm going to do one more. I also was able to come here and get all my backing, batting and border materials for my quilts and I found that they have once a month class for quilting where I will be coming shortly to get instruction on hand quilting since it's pretty rare and you can't seem to find people to help you do that but they do here. Boersma is a wonderful old Sewing Center that has everything they even have vintage machines for sale which is right up my alley. I skip two Joanna's when I drive to here. I only go here for my main supplies!

It is only worth fixing on my machine if the rest of the machine is in decent shape. Victor checked it out and found it is worth fixing. But before going to that expense he did all he could to give them a bit more life. I'm sure I will have them replaced relatively soon. He could have encouraged me to buy a new machine instead, which would have benefited the store and cost me much more. He didn't do that. I so appreciate his honesty.

In December 2024 I purchased a very expensive Embroidery and Sewing Machine (about $8,000.00) from…read morethis store. At the time of purchase I was given excellent service. I later returned to the store to purchase fabric and other items. July 29, 2025 I purchased some items including a ruler that cost $42.50 + tax. When I got home I realized I already had the ruler and about 1 week later tried to return it in it's UNOPENED package (I live in the hills so it is about a 30 minute drive to the store so I didn't immediately try to return the item). I was told they do not give cash refunds, only store credit because, quote "some people abused the return policy". This is a violation of Washington State Law but they don't care. I took the following information from Washington's Consumer Protection Agency's site: 1. Disclose the return policy: Retailers must clearly communicate their return policy to customers before they make a purchase. This can be done through signs in the store, information on the receipt, or on the retailer's website. 2. How many days does a customer have to return a product under Washington's consumer protection regulations? Under Washington's consumer protection regulations, a customer has seven business days to return a product for any reason. 9. Minimum Return Policy Disclosures - Retailers must clearly display their store's minimum return policy -- whether it is no refund at all or store credit only -- on all signs and receipts. I have decided to keep the ruler and never do business with them again. Nowhere is it posted in their store about the return policy, it is attached to the receipt which you get AFTER you have paid for the product making it non-returnable. Of course, I doubt that they care if I come back because they already got the big money from me.

There was a tiny corner in the back with fabric and a few odds and ends throughout. I was in the store for no more than five minutes saw everything and left. Clerk who I guess was the owner was hiding in her plastic corner. Never came out to assist or ask what I might be looking for. You would have to hand the yardage to her and she cuts it behind her glass/plastic partition. Not a positive nor friendly experience.
