I think my wife and I have been to nearly EVERY antique store (close to & adjacent to Highway 169) between Elk River and Grand Rapids. Let me tell you, there are some horrible stinkers that call themselves antique stores. But North Bound is easily one of the best...if not THE best of them all. North Bound is technically a "mall" with many vendors. But they're way above average with some fantastic vendors. They could hold their own with any antique mall in Minneapolis and St. Paul. And the building is a lot bigger than it looks from the outside. The best vendors seem to be in the front of the store. These are the ones that have the biggest, rarest, and most expensive items. Be prepared to fork out some dough if you want to buy something big and rare. They have brand-new hand-made crafts of different kinds peppered throughout the store too. You should not shop here without a coupon, as Michael's always offers a 40 or 50 percent off coupon, or sometimes 60 percent off a single item coupon that you can find online, or in their ad. The store feels a bit cramped, like they're trying to stuff too much merchandise into too little space. Still, we've had good luck finding yarn or other crafting supplies here over the years. With the use of their coupons, it brings their prices down. The service we've received over the years has been hit or miss. Sometimes it's been not great at all; and other times it's been just fine.

Now that my wife and I are ready to buy, we actually stopped-in. We're small-time buyers, not restaurant owners. We only want a T49 True 2-door freezer to match our T49 True 2-door refrigerator. We're also looking for a 6-burner Vulcan or Wolf commercial gas range. So...we told them right off the bat that we're just small time residential buyers. But they treated us like Royalty. In particular, Kent was AWESOME and incredibly KNOWLEDGEABLE. He spent a lot of time helping us. He also educated us about some potential issues with residential installations. We were completely oblivious until we talked to Kent! There's a giant outside yard in back with hundreds of stainless steel sinks, tables, racks, etc. Pretty cool.
