I have had so many…read morebad experiences with no one wanting to help me that I have been traveling to the Mercer Co location. I have asked ladies there about items and they would tell me that they did not have those items and the same exact items would be in the store on the shelf. They were just too lazy to look. Even the main manager there is not a personable person to ask for help. Not friendly at all. Now to my point. I gave the store another shot on Saturday evening. The young man that helped me was amazing. He has redeemed the store. I think his name was either Steven or Stephan. He had the nicest demeanor to him and told me that in the future to just ask for him if I ever had any questions or needed anything. I've moved away from the area so when I saw there was a Gabe's here in Beckley, I made sure to stop. And was surely let down. What happened? Gabe's was always a discount store when it all is said and done, but this location looks really run down. The feel was just dim and dingy and things felt super messy. It felt more like a Dollar Store (vibe wise) than anything else. I didn't think the items were that "cheap" in terms of pricing nor did I think the brands were anything that warranted that pricing either. It all was just sort of, "meh". I browsed around for a few minutes and left sadly with nothing but being let down. Maybe it was just this location? Maybe it's Gabe's but I left super bummed about my experience here.

I called within 2 days of getting it to say I wanted to return it and get something firmer but was told that they "thought" returns were not possible. The woman on the phone passed me to a Derrick (I believe that was his name) who told me that the people he needed to contact to see if it could be done were not there since it was a weekend. He promised he would call me back in regards to the return. The website is very deceiving regarding returns. On the mattress page, it states no hassle refunds, but when you actually go to their Q&A section, hassle free returns EXCEPT for mattresses. I never heard back from Grand's. Advice? Just go to BeautyRest's site, as they do guarantee hassle free returns themselves and it is the same price.

Steve assured me this would not be a problem. I offered to pay extra but he declined. Our agreement was met always until August 2023. I ordered flowers but received no photo. When I called, Steve stated he was too busy to take photo. This was part of our original verbal contract. No apologies. I let it go even though I was very angry. Keep in mind I paid each invoice promptly 12/5/25, I called Steve. I explained it was the 20th anniversary of my son's death and I wanted to do something really specially for an arrangement. I found a Christmas tree I liked and placed ordered. I even decorated my home this past year. Christmas was my son's favorite holiday. I received no photo. On 12/15 I called Steve and he told me tree was sitting in front of store and would be delivered soon. Christmas came and went without another word. I called again around end of year and was told by Steve he was too busy to take photo and send to me, again, no apologies. I have not and will not pay invoice as Steve, owner has once again failed to fulfill his original verbal contract with me regarding the photos in in addition to just being irresponsible regarding entire situation.

I called to see if they would take care of it. The man said he would check on it and call me back. I STILL have not heard from them. Very very poor customer service. They were nice enough before they got my money. Paid cash I will NOT be recommending them to anyone and WILL talk badly about them to everyone.

We had our entire flooring in our home redone. We went to the floor show and saw flooring we liked…read more We paid $8,200 for it. We had to run errands the day they came bc my fiancée had to go get eye surgery. They had used my home as a saw house. we had an outside building they could've used and plus the weather was nice that day. I had to wash the walls, ceilings, all my clothes, bedspreads and every single thing in my home and every nick and cranny. My electronics, vacuums and grandchildren's toys was covered in dust. They didn't put trim up and there's gaps between my door and floor and a few more places. The trim that was placed had a nail coming straight up and some was just pushed against the cabinets and not even nailed. It has been a month and I'm still not finished cleaning up the mess. I called floor show and got no return phone call and I contacted the head crew guy and he asked me to send pics and I did and no reply and it's been over 3 weeks. I contacted the financial institution they go through and told them they never finished the job and contacted the BBB. So I have two different institutions looking into this matter.
