I have certainly put Dr. Sheckter to the test of all of her knowledge with my laundry list of ailments, yet she passed all the tests. First, she listens well. Second, she always has the knowledge to make the correct answer. This might mean knowing when the specialist needs to be called in. Third, she clearly communicates what needs to happen next. I began working with Janna Cuneo as my PCP in 2019 and followed her to Wise Patient Internal Medicine in 2022. She praised the clinic's model. The website promised coordinated care, same-day access, unhurried visits, and expertise in gender medicine. I was rural, disabled, and medically fragile, so I trusted her. That trust harmed me. The decline starting in 2024 was catastrophic. My blood pressure, critical with diabetes and kidney disease, went unmanaged for months. I repeatedly shared logs and asked for adjustments but was told to wait weeks or more. When she was away on one of her many unplanned extended leaves, I messaged her colleague, who immediately recognized and corrected the danger. BP management is basic primary care. Failing to control it shortens my lifespan. Prescription chaos was constant: refills late or wrong, doses increased by 50 percent when we had discussed 10, controlled meds in the wrong formulation and sent to the wrong pharmacy, leaving me without them during flares. In late 2024, I waited weeks for my estrogen refill only to learn she had prescribed unsafe oral progesterone, contraindicated given my family history of clots. These were life-and-death mistakes. In January 2025, I scheduled an appointment to align prescriptions with a new pharmacy and start a prior authorization for a med that keeps me out of the hospital. Despite my planning and over ten follow-ups, prescriptions still went wrong, and I ran out of several meds for a week. They didn't even start the prior auth for 2+ weeks. Staff brushed it off, suggesting I use GoodRx or skip the meds, as if they were condiments. In reality, I was left without life-sustaining medication. It was not just meds. This clinic bungled lab orders, referrals, and disability paperwork. I had to act as project manager to survive. Coordination, supposedly their strength, was nonexistent. Access was another broken promise. Messages often went unanswered for more than a week, sometimes not at all. I ended up booking monthly appointments just to force accountability for labs, prescriptions, and pharmacy info. Even then she failed to show up. In May, during a flare that nearly hospitalized me, she no-showed one visit without apology, canceled another last minute, and called an hour late to the third, rushed after hours, and mis-ordered my meds again. When I documented errors, she falsified notes with "as we previously discussed" about things we never discussed. At the same time, she blurred boundaries with her constant "friend" routine, using fake intimacy to deflect from the harm. This was manipulative, not care, and it deepened the betrayal. When I escalated to Sam Warren, the clinical director, his response was worse. After Janna no-showed me, he did not hold her accountable. Instead he asked me, a disabled patient in crisis, for advice on "best practices" for running his clinic. When I later formally requested reassignment to a safer clinician with interim coverage, his response was silence. No reply, no acknowledgment, not even basic decency. A clinical director who ignores documented patient harm is complicit in it. The impact was cumulative: unmanaged blood pressure, destabilized hormone care, lapses in critical medications, near hospitalization, wasted energy, and emotional harm from being gaslit by people I trusted. Janna loved to talk about "the system," how broken it was, how she was protecting me from it. The truth is that she was not protecting me at all. She became another cog in the system she criticized, incompetent and dangerous. Sam Warren's silence sealed it. Wise Patient claims all kinds of things. What I lived was chaos and abandonment. Behind the glossy promises, Wise Patient is unsafe and unaccountable.

First, they don't return phone calls. I called their office manager, Roger, 4 times about the medical assistant not following through with processing my prescription with Medco. Instead of getting my medicine FREE from Medco, my mail order insurance, I've had to pay $10 every time I've had to go to a local pharmacy. His explanation was that Monica was no longer with the clinic and David would process it. So David assures me it's been done. Yet, Medco was never contacted and has nothing on file for this med. Called office to ask why no one is calling me back or following through on my medication order, and was told "they're in training for a new computer system and will call you back" - um, 2 weeks later still no call or contact for Medco. Guess they're too busy with office computers and whatever to care about their patients! If you want an uncaring staff who doesn't give a #### if you're out extra money and hassle from being ignored, then this is your clinic :((

My mom is waiting on a test to come back for if it spread to her lymph nodes or not, and a remark such as this clearly had no thought behind it and scared my mom causing her to come home in tears. If you want to be a family medicine doctor you must have the ability to read a situation and have compassion and optimism for your patients, not blabbering about staying humble and how you don't know what could happen tomorrow. Sure, English isn't Dr. Sharma's first language and maybe she doesn't understand the connotation of what she was saying, but even so, to bring up such a thing to a cancer patient is utterly moronic and insensitive. I would not want to have serious conversations with a doctor like this, frankly I'm surprised she is a doctor at all. Such carelessness and idiocy are not traits a doctor should possess. This isn't the first unpleasant experience my mom has had with Dr. Sharma, during multiple appointments she has seemed to be talking in a nonsensical way, bringing up completely irrelevant topics, and even making numerous comments on my moms weight (she's on ozempic). I would not recommend Dr. Sharma for future appointments.
