We used a…read moretransport company to make arrangements because we are having the car transported to Tucson on arrival in LA via car carri We had some stress with paperwork, our car is paid off but I didn't update the registration when I did it. I had a copy of the car title, but they want a original. We are both on the title , both have to be present. Don t try to hide anything personal that was too big for your suit case. If they find it, they will discard it. Use usps for that stuff. Flat Rate. So it took us two days to get our documents in order, a full half day at Dmv. And Matson dock closes at three. And they have a lunch hour. Gotta plan. Be very aware you need to be clean, vac and no cracks anywhere. All reasons to send you away. And less than 1/4 tank. For us that's 2 gallons. Another reason to refuse your vehicle. Excess Fuel. It s about car weights. Go to the website to review important details,but this is everything I can think of. Oh , if you are early for your shipping day, you get a grace day, & the other days are dock storage. Mastercard Accepted. Hate to add a negative to a positive.. on car acceptance, we noticed the rear bumper, On a Prius this is a bodypart, was scuffed and cleaned. Since the transport driver didn't catch it, the responsibility moved to the transporter. The new inspection sticker from Maui was Scuffed. It had to be on the ship, only they would have a clean up kit. The solution also faded the new black and white sticker, only a week old. Now it s Gray. The damage only broke one tiny snap -in plastic tab. So it hangs low by a 1/2 inch. Looks like we will pay. New insurance on arrival in Tucson. So Damage was before the new insurance was in effect. Too bad he missed it but it was subtle.

Obtaining a job as a stevedore with the company is almost akin to winning the lottery, LOL. Sadly, it's who you know like in most places. Overtime pay equals beaucoup bucks but the hours can be crazy. EXPERIENCE: We used them way back in the mid-90's to ship a vehicle from Maui to Arizona and back (via Long Beach, CA) for yours truly to drive while in school. Back then, you had the option of shipping your vehicle either inside a container or outside, the latter of course being cheaper. We went with the enclosed container which ran around $800-something one-way and kept the car much cleaner. Nowadays it's all enclosed and about double the price. The voyage took around five days or so each way, and the car arrived damage-free both times. Today, it's much easier to prepare yourself and your vehicle as everything is online. Some things didn't change, such as: 1) Gas level needs to be at ¼ tank or less. 2) Your vehicle must be emptied of loose items, legal and brought in clean in order for inspection to be done. And the "duh factor": Don't leave any valuables inside your vehicle! Signage at Kahului Harbor is poor compared to Long Beach, but due to its small size, it's quicker and easier to get in and out. The office was located inside of the big warehouse building at pier 1 but it could've changed since then. FUN FACT: Way back in the day, Matson briefly operated aircraft and passenger ships between Pacific locations/ports and the US west coast. OVERALL: It's either Matson or Pasha for your vehicle shipping needs. You decide.

The shipping process is very efficient and the workers at the shipping site are friendly. You do need to call ahead to book a shipping appointment, but from there on, it's an easy process to drop off your vehicle and pick it up at the destination point. Shipping is quick and I got a call from Young Brothers the next morning after each shipping, letting me know my car was ready for pickup. When we went to pick up my car in Kahului, the battery was dead (the parking lights got left on inadvertently), and they immediately sent someone over to give us a jump start. After you ship your car, if you care about your paint job, I do recommend you get a good car wash asap to rinse off the salt (I have a review of the place we liked in Kahului). If you have a reason to ship your vehicle interisland, if you do your legwork in advance (check the website, make a call), you're going to have a smooth and easy experience with Young Brothers.

Prior to paying then are fantastic. They over promise and under deliver. My vehicle has been sitting on a neighbor island port for 1 week already. I tracked it yesterday and I was due to pick it up today. This morning I tracked the vehicle and the pickup date disappeared and is now blank. I called and was told to call back in 2 hours. I was generous and waited 3, at which point they informed me it will be another 2 weeks before I receive my vehicle as it just sits and waits to be loaded. They do not update the transit tracking on their website and you have no idea where your vehicle is and no idea when it will arrive. The technology is far outdated and I feel as though the customer service agents are either not properly trained or not given enough resources to assist a customer.

They sent out TEMP LABORERS they were paying 18.00 an hour to deliver our goods. I filled out a claim form that the driver provided and told us they would repair the damage to our brand new floors. We never heard anything from them, and when I called 2 months later to discuss it they had no record of a damage report. It trickles from the top down in their organization and they charged us 1500.00 extra for the delivery saying our driveway was inaccessible. If they hired competent help that could navigate a truck it wouldn't be an issue as we have had many many subsequent deliveries of furniture and applicances of trucks of equal or larger size. BUYER BEWARE. They are awful.

It entailed the contents of a two-story, 3-br townhome with some heavy, bulky upper and lower lanai stuff (all the large items - we would handle all the kitchen, bathroom, and pantry items) going to a smaller house Regina and staff worked with us, and when the 29th became problematic for us, they were able to shift the move date to May 1st, which helped us tremendously. The three young but surprisingly strong movers - Jason and two polite chaps - showed up on time (8:30 am) and, after an orienting walk-through, they went to work in a very expeditious manner. They were able to fit everything into the truck for one trip about 2.5 miles to the other house. They positioned the 3 disassembled bedsets, two couch sectionals, three roller racks of tubs, a large, very heavy dining room table, four other smaller tables and many other items in short order where we wanted them, and the move was concluded in 4.25 hours - well under the estimated time on the contract and for less than the quotes from the other movers that were available. We were very impressed by how hard and consistently they worked and their professional, engaging, and positive demeanors, given the exertion required. We will surely seek out Royal Hawaiian for any future moves on the Big Island.
