I found JNO here through Yelp, they responded to a request for a quote. I needed garage slab and driveway replacement due to tree root damage. The quote they gave for the work was unbeatable. They showed up on time, wore masks, got the job done quickly despite weather setbacks. I'm happy with the driveway. I think they could have done better with the garage slab, there is some waviness in the concrete however it's sufficient especially for what I paid. I'm handy enough to fix with self-leveling concrete and I plan to tile it anyway. Only other drawback was I had to be more involved than I expected with ordering materials. Wasn't a problem since I was home but if I was at work and my wife had to deal with it, it could have been messy. Also they should have included sealing the driveway as part of the original quote, even it meant a higher price. I did it myself. Solid work though for an excellent price. King and his team did a great job expanding our driveway, relocating fence posts, and building a retaining wall! I am really glad we found him - very nice guy with a good sense of humor. JNO called back to offer material purchasing and even lower price after I had decided to go with another contractor. So I decided to go with JNO which turned out to be a wrong decision for my artificial turf and irrigation project. First of all, like some of other reviews (that I regret not having paid attention to), we started to argue on what's included and what's not. He claimed the price didn't contain sprinkler but I remember quoting everything on his first visit. No written document or contract, and I couldn't force him do anything. Now that he claimed the original quote doesn't include sprinkler, his price becomes not competitive at all, compared to all other contractors I had quoted which all include sprinkler in written doc. Okay now, since price is for smaller scope, i thought I could expect quality. But not to mention delayed delivery, he did bad job on artificial grass and irrigation and overall how he handled the project. 1. When he said the job was done and asked for final payment, there're still too many obvious problems left unfinished. Tubes were not connected, tube was leaking, one of the tube end was not sealed, artificial grass edge was not cut even though I had asked before. 2. Artificial grass not even and there's only 20mm (large ones) granite level and no 0-6mm (refined ones) granite level. No weed barrier either. He couldn't make it even and said it's gonna resolve by itself when it rains which I highly doubt. 3. No dripping heads on dripping tubes and no end cap on 1/2 dripping tube which he claimed to be normal. The way how dripping tube ends makes me feel fooled. 4. Leaking pipe. When I pointed this out, he said it's gonna fix by itself by time. I know it's an excuse to delay or not fixing it but again feel fooled even more as I've never heard of a leaking issue can be resolved by itself. I then called a plumber and he said they usually don't mix copper and galvanized and apparently JNO was doing the unprofessional job to mix them. At later stage of the project, it's all waste of the time even discussing with him. As you know he's just bringing up a bunch of reasons to not do this and that. For example when he was finishing up the tube end he had missed, I asked him to cover the two plants next to the tube end as I thought he forgot doing so. He then again, said it's not included in the scope. I was shocked as these two plants are just in that backyard at the same row with other plants and I would never specifically exclude these two plants when quoting. And other examples like leaking pipe or uneven artificial grass. You would just feel tired communicating and asking him again and again for some low-quality work or fix. By the way, because of all disagreement we had, he would hang up on your call :) I've decided to fix all remaining problems with real professionals and re-do everything. Yeah it will cost more $ and time but at least this time I know how to make the right decision to go with someone recommended by friends or with warranty. Pics just as reference. read more

By far the worst contractor I've seen, would not recommend. We asked them to build concrete surface for a small area in backyard, with other areas filled with concrete already. They were very rude and impatient throughout the process, and the quality is extremely low. As you can see in the pic, there is a 3-inch elevation difference between the old surface and the new one. Competitive price but not great work. JNO replaced our driveway and entryway with concrete stamping. Asked to be paid in installments while he was doing the work (which isn't legal btw, but by this time our driveway was already destroyed). I had to basically keep an eye on everything he did. The concrete stamping job was far from great with areas that show they don't know how to use the stampers correctly. At least it's graded correctly. He even gave me his friends contractor license number without asking permission. Said friend wasn't happy when I called them about it. read more

I had about 10 contractors giving me estimate and these guys come on the lower side, plus not too many negative review on yelp so I decide to go for it. Here's what I learn from these guys: 1. If it's not in writing, it's an empty promise. At first it seems like he'll work with you on what ever your need is. Like a small thing here and there. 2. Part into the job he start finding ways to extract more, by pointing out some fault or try to get you to change your project. For me I would rather reduce the scope of the project than to go over the budget. 3. At later stage we are stuck with my word vs your word. 4. He'll charge you a different price if you don't have proof of the contract. Now the workmanship. I consider it average. It look fresh to start with. But after a while I start to notice things are chipped here and there and the edges are uneven. Things start to show cracks already, but I am guessing it's common. I rate the workmanship as average. But the experience is horrible to deal with. Well, at least he didn't take the money and ran with it. read more
