TLDR: AVOID - find another contractor for your turf + landscaping projects as you'll eventually need to find someone else to fix all the mistakes in a few weeks/months + he doesn't follow up with fixing them (I gave him chance after chance and waited 7+ months before updating my review from 5 stars to a 1 star. I had Alberto install almost 3,000 sq ft of turf in my front yard + the borders and the below are what happened to the turf/borders after a few weeks (pictures of all points below attached). He continuously claims he's backed up and thus the delays for fixing...however, I gave him more than 7 months....which I believe is to be more than fair. Borders are coming apart and screws are all exposed. There are sections that are not holding any turf/sand back in multiple junctions. Pictures attached...with screws exposed like that, creates a dangerous hazard for kids/animals playing. Upon completion, I noticed that the turf lines between sections are extremely visible (similar to other reviewers). He said they should go away after some time, but after a few months, still very visible. I looked further and seems like either they're installed in opposing directions or there's simply not enough overlap between the sections. To compound that, most of the intersections are also coming apart....making the lines even more visible. Pile of sand still left on my driveway (been sitting there for months....). No one's picked them up yet. Turf comes off when you gently pull - not enough nails were used to attach the turf. I had to buy almost 100+ nails on Amazon to nail the turf down. Something you don't expect to do after spending $30+k but the lack of response from Alberto left me no choice. Uneven edges of the turf. Not sure why, but seems like some parts weren't evened out before turf installation and there's now pretty big (2-3 feet across) bumps in different sections of the turf. Contractor's license on the contract I signed was expired years before the project/contract (perhaps my fault, I should've checked before signing). But please do your due diligence and check/ask before signing anything. I'm extremely disappointed in the overall experience and now I have to spend more $ and time looking for contractors to finish/fix the project. I hope whoever reads this gets to avoid what we went through as they contemplate their next/future landscaping/turf/yard project.

His organization, attention to detail and professionalism are horrible and unacceptable. Having worked in the tech and medical fields, this level of disrespect and mistrust would not be tolerated. If you want the following, by all means proceed with signing a contract: * Does not pay attention to detail * Does not care about owners property * Picks up products for project that are damaged and does not check, he admitted he did not check certain product because he is in a rush, seriously! * Does not check work and if there are mistakes he blames the client * He admitted that his team does not pay attention to detail and will probably damage certain things because of it. Everyday his guys left trash everywhere and we had to remind them to pick up and clean up stuff, we shouldn't have to do that * Does not manage his team, allows guys to just sit and not work, gave excuse that he pays them per job and if the job is done for the day they can sit on their phones, WOW! * You tell Alberto stuff to work on, but he does not take notes and is not organized * Does not know how to prioritize daily and weekly work * Makes empty promises and does not deliver, you have to continually remind him of things you said and take extensive notes to give to him. Although we are paying the company to do this project work, you have to manage it on your own * Forgets things he said to owners about job and says he will get to it but never does * Does not work as a true project manager or contractor e.g. does not know how to communicate, does not stick to timeline, timeframe of project, does not order products in time to complete project, says he will be there to talk with you about project and makes excuses as to why he does not show up like he is managing his other companies or projects or he is working out. * Tries to hide shotty work from home owner by covering stuff up I would not go with this company regardless of what the other yelp reviews say, be very careful home owners!

I also chose him because he initially seemed honest, responsive, and willing to fix issues quickly. Unfortunately, my experience on a larger project has been very disappointing. Our addition and renovation project started in February, and as of today the framing is still not completed. I have already paid 85% of the framing cost and 100% of the footing, but both scopes still have unfinished items. Several framing areas were built incorrectly, and the footing also has incomplete work. The window and door openings were not framed to the correct sizes even though the windows and doors have already been ordered. There have been multiple quality issues along the way. Some of the framing and plumbing work did not meet code and required 2-3 rounds of corrections during inspections. I brought in other builders and experienced subcontractors to look at the work, and they shared similar concerns about the workmanship. The stucco work he previously did for me also turned out poorly. In the past week, the jobsite was barely staffed -- one worker on Tuesday, two on Wednesday, and three on Friday and three on Sat-- despite many remaining items still unfinished. Most of the past weeks, he only has 2-3 people on our job site. Ricardo is disapproved as he does not respond to my calls or texts and did not come to the jobsite. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend hiring Ricardo for construction projects. I am now looking into filing a legal claim with the state licensing board regarding the issues on my project.
