I then asked and thats for the thicker padding, with removal for the old carpet and old padding, he then reassured me "yes". I was so excited and now I had to decide which color I was going with. I then asked if I order it now, can he give me a few weeks to get ready. He said "sure no problem" I contacted him 2 weeks before I was ready, and set up a date for installation. Our shabby hall bathroom was in desperate need of some TLC, still featuring its original builder…read moregrade fixtures circa 1984. Not anymore! From speedy response to a request for an estimate to completed project, this company was top notch. Unlike other companies that I contacted for bids, these guys listened to what I wanted rather than telling me what they were willing to do. I wanted to save the original vanity cabinet, and have it refinished to a different stain with a new top and fixtures (it was original to the home with some custom features and in good shape overall). One company told me flat out, "Nah, we'll just tear it out and put something else in" dismissing my request without even entertaining the notion. Keenan (sp?) with Straight Edge meticulously sanded and restored it, working with me on selecting the optimal stain, from 80's honey oak to a rich walnut. Lucio (sp?), the gentleman who tiled the shower, is a master craftsman with some 30 years in the business, an exacting expert whose precise, elegant work I can't stop admiring. The behind the wall work was no less impressive even if not readily visible. Blocking placed in the wall frame and drywalled over now securely holds a towel rack and grab bars, strong enough to do pull-ups. New plumbing for the tub-to-shower conversion and the vanity, all the electrical...everything came together so beautifully! I was also very impressed with how conscientious Danny and Trevor and all the rest of the of crew were. Disruptions and mess were kept to a minimum, always protecting the floors and thoroughly cleaning up after themselves. The communication with the project managers Mitch and Omar was prompt; they kept me well informed of the expected goals for that day's work and of any unexpected deviations (a junction box that needed to be moved). While they were here, after seeing the recessed light fixture they placed in the remodel, they were happy to install one in the master replacing outdated "mushroom" lights in both baths as well as a power outlet in the master bath that picked that time to die. They were all helpful, friendly and very good at what they did. Of course, this being reality, there were some hiccups with the supply chain. The specialty tile and other fixtures needed to be ordered, and those delays extended the project beyond the expected completion date, but in the end, it was all so worth it. We now have a beautiful, ADA compliant, luxurious feeling bathroom. I would 100% use them again for my next project!
