I also tried the Chicken Terriyaki. There was a good balance of meat to veggies, and while I try not to often eat rice, I began to eat my way through the rice after the first few bites. The workers here were very kind and offered a few bandages when my boyfriend asked if they had any.

The only redeeming factors about Hanyang: 1. They're open 24 hours 2. Their sushi stand is amazing and reasonably priced 3. Freshly made food selection is better than H-Mart, IMO 4. Their plant selection! Seriously, this honestly is the top reason but I'm too lazy to renumber everything. The rest is up for debate. They have all the produce basics but freshness is a hit or miss. I also find their stocking a bit scattered and not easy to navigate because their space is quite limited for trying to cram many things to sell. Prices are pretty reasonable most of the time, but again, I only come here to quickly pick up things because it's a closer walk from my home than H-Mart. I don't really like their parking lot setup because you have cars going in and out on both sides (one on Northern, which I think is quite unsafe).

They also carry a number products and brands less commonly found in other Chinese supermarkets. This Skyfoods is one of a few locations, two in Flushing and one in Elmhurst; this one sits on the first floor of the Shops at Skyview on College point Avenue in downtown Flushing. Walking in from the main entrance to the shops this is kinda hidden towards the back of the building. It's nice that it doesn't usually get too crowded. They give free parking in the structure if you shop and buy over $40. What's nice similar to some other larger Asian grocery stores (Hmart, Mitsuwa) is they sometimes do sampling stations on weekends where they showcase a handful of products. My last purchase of a box of Asian pears was because I got to try a couple pieces of sweet fruit so I felt confident in picking up a box. Aside from fresh produce, meat and seafood, dried, canned and packaged foods, they have relatively larger refrigerated foods and tea/drinks and snack sections. See pics of some interesting products. Also for example they carry some instant powdered sweet fruit (jujube, sour plum) teas here I don't find in other places, and for that reason alone I make a trip here every so often.

The dedicated seafood and meat departments are also well-stocked, never saw live eel sold in a grocery store. Being inside the Skyview Center is a huge plus. It's great to be able to hit up BJ's wholesale, TJ Maxx and other stores in the same trip, and the indoor parking garage is a game-changer, especially on bad weather days. Compared to some of the other supermarkets in Flushing, Skyfoods feels noticeably cleaner and brighter. The aisles are well-organized, making it easier to find what you need. Checkout is wonderful, no chatty cashiers, just simple, polite, fast checkout! For a huge, reliable selection in a convenient location, it's a solid four stars. Tip: The hot food section is a lifesaver for a quick and affordable meal. You can get a solid lunch box combo with rice, several dishes, and soup for a great price. Prices were also quite reasonable considering the quality and variety. This said, their tiger fish was at $54.50 a pound which is on the high end of the market. A major plus is the excellent food court, offering a wide range of delicious options perfect for a quick lunch or snack after shopping. Overall, JMart delivers a very Asian authentic shopping experience right in the heart of Flushing. This is the go to place for my mother in law.
