We purchased our dachshund puppy from Jane a few months back, and had a very awful experience. She sent him home sick, with runny stool and GI Issues. The first week, he became progressively more lethargic and continued runny stool and vomited and just did not seem well. We got him on a Monday, and by Saturday he needed emergency care. He spent the weekend in the pet emergency hospital and they weren't sure he was going to make it. That's when we found out he was anemic and had round worm and was extremely sick. Jane, upon contacting her, was extremely rude and blew it off. She told us to order a supplement against giardia and wait for it to get in the mail; right as the emergency hospital is saying he may not make it through the night. She has no clue what she's talking about; she isn't a vet yet she writes you back as if she is, and actually endangers her puppies by saying you don't need to take them in and that it's this "no big deal" thing. Of course we ignored her and immediately rushed him to the emergency place, where actual veterinarian professionals explained how sick he was. After being so rude, she never contacted us again and likely never cared if he survived or not. He is now 4 and a half months old and still suffers GI Issues. He is clear of round worm now, according to our vet, but is on a round of antibiotics as he had persistent soft stool. He also has severe separation anxiety and upon consultation with a veterinarian specializing in behavior, she explained how their first 8 weeks (which were under janes care) are very formative for whether they will suffer from anxiety or not and also that dogs can be genetically predisposed which can result from bad breeding. Upon reading other reviews, I learned that because of her negligent conditions she keeps the puppies in (literally in a barn) they are all extremely prone to GI parasites and bacteria etc and many even get Parvo. This is not just a fluke and many people have had similar experiences. She is a glorified puppy mill and does not take good care of them, leaves them prone to serious illness, and never takes responsibility for it. In fact, she tries to stop you from receiving care by giving unsolicited veterinary advice; falsely diagnosing the issue herself and trying to get you to brush it off and keep quiet when your pet is deathly ill from her negligence. We love our puppy to death; but are heartbroken over what he's been put through due to her horrible practices. I would never recommend buying a puppy from her and supporting this horrible business. read more

We purchased a Great Bernese puppy from JM Kennels a little over three years ago and it was one of the most traumatic experiences of my life. Less than 24 hours after bringing the puppy home he became deathly ill. After rushing him to the vet and even getting a second opinion he was diagnosed with both Parvo and Giardia. He was quite literally dying in my arms and because the gestation period for Parvo is about a week it means he contracted it at the breeder. We tried to get a hold of JM Kennels for several days but she ignored every single phone call and when we did finally hear from her she would only respond by email. She had the audacity to say the vets we spoke to didn't know what they were talking about and that there was no way our puppy had Parvo. She suggested we give him probiotics and that he'd be fine which is completely insane. Several other of his litter mates ended up getting sick and only then did she admit that we were probably right. She offered to send us a new dog as if animals are just something you exchange like a pair of jeans. We had already fallen in love with our pup and fought with him until he luckily beat the virus, which had cost us over $7000, not including what we paid to purchase him in the first place which should have been refunded but never was. Per the contract we had signed with JM we mailed her a vet health check that stated he was not in fact a healthy dog as the contract promised, but she refused delivery of the documents and had them sent back to us. She completely breached her own contract and gives zero shits about any of the poor animals under her care. After learning more about veterinary care and breeders since going through this ordeal, it is very obvious that JM Kennels is nothing but a glorified puppy mill, especially considering the wide variety of breeds she offers. Although we love our dog more than anything, he has had several health issues throughout his short life so far and it is all attributed to the poor breeding done by JM Kennels. The only reason I'm coming forward now is because we have been dealing with our pet insurance over the Parvo incident for several years and now that it's over it's important that people know the real story behind the cute puppies posted on Facebook. If I had taken the Better Business Reviews I read about JM concerning dying puppies seriously I would never have done business with this scam of a breeder. If you are a true animal lover and are looking for a healthy puppy, do yourself and the dog a favor and go elsewhere. read more

I made the mistake of putting down a deposit with JM Kennels for a Great Bernese and unfortunately learned the hard way that this is not a reputable business nor is this somewhere you want to purchase a puppy. In speaking to owners/past owners and requesting public records, I found out that this breeder has a history of selling sick dogs with illnesses such as Giardia, Parvo, Scabies, among many others. When I confronted this breeder regarding these illnesses and my fear in a history of selling dogs that were sick prior to purchase, I was threatened to be sued for "Defamation of Character" and told that I was the one that was wrong. Luckily, I found this information out before I was given a sick dog. If you are thinking of purchasing a puppy from Jane, make sure you do your research and request public records through PACFA. read more

I will say that the dog that I received is a great dog. However he had three different types of parasites in massive quantities. When I emailed Jane she mentioned that her vet had said they should be doing three doses of some medication but Jane had only done one stating 'we'll start doing three'. Half of the point of going to a breeder is getting a high quality healthy puppy. But with the amount of parasites he had he will have GI issues for at least the first year of his life maybe longer. Wouldn't recommend only because of the condition he came to me in. read more

I recently bought a dachshund puppy from this breeder. At the time of picking her up she was on the thin side and we were told she thought the puppy had coccidia based off how her stools were looking. She was sent home with a course of antibiotics. The next day she was taken to the vet as required and tested negative for coccidia. She continued to lose weight and was lethargic. I took her to the vet and we began to run test to see why she was losing weight, continuing to have lose stools and not acting like a normal puppy. I called the breeder to see if she knew of any issues that other puppies or parents may have had. She stated she was not aware of any. Asked that we keep her posted, and that was the last communication we had with her. She was finally diagnosed with EPI (Endocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency). An illness she was born with that will require life long treatment. Upon learning of this diagnoses I reached out to the breeder asking for a refund for the puppy. She had stated she would be unreachable due to a death in the family for the next few days. She never responded. Knowingly or not I was sold a very sick puppy. She never inquired or tried to make it right. When you go to a breeder and pay this kind of money for a puppy you don't expect this. I would not recommend buying puppies or dogs from this breeder. read more

Our puppy pick-up day was the saddest day ever. I was the 5th person in line to choose from a litter of 9. We had reserved and paid for a girl puppy. On pick up day Jane gave my daughter her puppy, I signed the contracts. Super exciting. Then we were told we were given the wrong puppy. She went to get the right puppy and then said that the puppy we chose who was identified as "pink girl" was actually a boy, and if we wanted a girl there was no puppy for us. Jane took the puppy I thought I had just paid and signed for away from my daughter. We were devastated. She blamed her staff for mixing up the collars. She said there was nothing she could do, had no empathy for us whatsoever. I reached for the contract to cross my name out and she snatched it away from me and told me not to touch it. Then she retaliated against us by not allowing us to keep a deposit on the next litter. Also the puppy had Giardia which she assured us was common and normal. read more
