We have a Best Buy Geek Squad service and after diagnostic work, we were told that a $450-500 repair was needed. This business offered the same repair for $150. They stated they would test the part before installing and if it did not do the trick, their labor would be $75. They also recommended a battery replacement, while the work was being completed, as mine was borderline after 3-years use. The cost of the battery would have been $75. We had checked with a non-certified Apple T-mobile store who offered us $200 on a replacement phone. Had that been our best option, I would have paid the $225 to fix my current phone (which worked well other than the charging port issue). The Pod Drop also recommended we check with a T-mobile certified Apple Store to see if there was a better deal on a new phone. We did just that and chose to turn in the phone and receive a new phone at no cost, with some tweaks to our plan that did not change the monthly payment. Returned to The Pod Drop to pick up the phone and turn it in to T-mobile. The staff were honest, informative and professional. For this interaction, they did not make a cent, yet they earned a loyal family-customers. We will return to them for all-things cellular. Noticed some good pricing on phone cases and other accessories too. I will be calling their store to check on stock and prices before ordering from Amazon or another big box store. It would be on for months at a time, and go out for months at a time. I took it in under warranty, the display was working when they got it, so they sent it right back. Tried again around 2019 with a Pioneer service center in Lansing, had the same result. Asked them to hold on to it, turned on, to see if the display would go out. It didn't, they told me to come and get it. Cost me $175 for basically nothing. Now, the display had not worked since last Christmas. I decided to take one last chance on repairing it by taking it to Craig's. I liked mostly what I read in the reviews, even though they were NOT close by. I dropped it off on a Saturday, explained the problem, they plugged it in and saw the problem also. By Tuesday they called me back after doing a diagnostic on it and explained the problem. They told me what parts they would need, how much it would cost, and if I agreed, that it would be ready in a week. I agreed to their price, thought it was reasonable and in line with what I was willing to pay, and it was indeed ready within a week. They showed me that the display now worked, and for the first time in eleven years, my receiver is now fully functional. It is a very good receiver, have no qualms about it. Everything else on it works fine. So I am pleased as punch to have it back. I recommend Craig's. Treated me well, did everything they promised at what I thought was a reasonable price. I would go back. (Even though they are 50 miles away from me.)
