Well don't be scared to go here anymore as the gas station is shining new for now. If you are drunk by 6pm or just want a quick taco in the morning give it a try. The 2 ingredient tacos, meat and cheese are pretty expensive at 2 bucks a pop or 9 bucks for a quesadilla. The flavor of grease will provide a friendly reminder of your experience the next morning in the bathroom. If you like to eat fire with your tacos get the red sauce. You may not need to wait till the morning for the reminder. There was no line and the nice little lady made our tacos faster than Taco Bell could without the flat top. Again this establishment is very clean so no worries there. I have to demolish the prices and really believe they could make this the best hidden taco joint in town with some creativity. I know someone there has a family recipe or two they could use. Food demolisher out.

I only went there to do one thing only......... and that was to secure a cup or two of the holy ELOTES! I swear I've been many places and tried many types of corn whether on a stick, wrapped in foil, or in a cup but this is the ONLY place that yields the most freshest ,creamiest, flavorful, and tastiest elotes (which I make spicy). I think it has alot to do with their cheese. It's different. Its' not like your typical run of the mill corn-lady cart that offers just paremesan or some other crack-head cheese. This is some real fresh and tasty cheese that is lathered with your corn. Along with butter, cream, mayo, paprika, chili powder, a sprinkle of limon powder and topped off with the cheese and a nice drizzle of the Valentina hot sauce... you're in elote heaven. I almost regret writing about this on YELP in fear that it will be over-crowded or over-exploited and as a result the quality will slowly diminishes but I think sharing .....IS caring. I should be selfish and keep this a secret, which btw is mostly known and shared among the other that live among Swiss, Bryan, Bennett and Henderson but I am better than that. I may have a few regrets after posting this review but I know in the end I'll secure a place in heaven for being self-less and caring. Let loose and indulge. Don't be afraid of the skirmy area. It's fine in the day time and evening. If it looks too dangerous then come again some other day when less packed but regardless try it out. It's magical. The elotes lady is magical. They have their own permanent fixture attached to the front of the gas station near the door. You can' t miss it. She's there typically most of the time unless weather is that bad. BTW. Cash only. I believe its like $2-2.50 a cup.

It's amazing how clean and bright this store is compare to the previous one I frequented. It is about a mile Farther but nice to stop for a quick gallon of milk or beer/wine. The Nepalese doll are warm and friendly and the store is always well lit, clean and well stocked. The gas prices are usually the same as race trac and even with the construction- more convenient for me to access. Go see these folks- you won't be disappointed.

They have 2 registers and 1 if it's slow. They close according to what time alcohol stops selling that day. Also it has 6 gas pumps but it's a SUPER tight space. Gas here is pretty decent at price. They sell everything here including t-shirts, beanies, and hair wraps. They also have slot machines here if you are a gambler. It is in a shopping center so there are plenty of parking spaces to park.

I chose Michoacana over its competitors because I had had good experiences at these stores in San Antonio. At this location, I came for a handful of items and was only able to find one item on my list: corn on the cob. I wasn't able to find the other items I was seeking: grapefruit/grapefruit juice, cotija cheese, passion fruit syrup, white corn flour, and Bohemia beer. There were some nice produce offerings, pan dulce at the front of the store, a butchery at the back, a section of dried herbs and chilis, many hot sauces, tajin products, flours, sweets, chips, beans...just not the items I was after. On a positive note, I did leave with some items I was not seeking: a jar of marinated nopales, two perfectly ripe ataulfo mangos, a few Thai green chilis, and a substitute for cotija cheese. I appreciated a cashier's cheese recommendation but had to interrupt a personal conversation to request assistance. The conversation between the two coworkers commenced once we returned to the checkout from the cheese section. The opportunity to create a repeat/regular customer was lost in lack of inventory and customer service. Sadly, with many competing businesses, I will not be returning to this location.
