Actually, Dr. Chan is more like a businessman than a dentist. His operation led to the broken of the screw in my implant, which was only loosed. He had no necessary tools to fix the issue, and had to let the missing crown open. He ordered all tools and materials but transferred all costs to me. It means he made mistakes and damaged my implant, and asked me to pay for the following treatment. It led to my pain and high costs for the treatment. I'm weird with dentists. Like weird as in I-am-not-a-fan of keeping my mouth suspended open while I hear the buzzing of drills. So apparently I fractured a tooth at the root during law school (I used to grind my teeth at night from stress- so yeah think twice before you go to law school)...and I needed a second opinion from my own dentist (who told me to go to an specialist). From a recommendation I found Dr. Jit Chan. Dr. Jit Chan is incredibly professional, caring and makes you feel safe- which is wonderful for anxious patients like myself. He's been practicing for decades and has seen it all! I want to comment on how he takes his patients' concerns seriously and he is incredibly patient. I was able to get a walk-in appointment (walk-ins and emergencies welcome) and he was able to work with my insurance AND schedule. [His office is a one-stop shop that does everything from dental implants to Invisalign which is convenient for me.] His staff are native Spanish speakers and he speaks Chinese which is great for people who may have difficulty communicating their dental issues in English. The office is immaculate and the technology is state-of-the-art! There are huge screens and x-rays machines built into each room which makes the process more efficient! I actually had the x-ray of my tooth blown up on a huge screen which helped me see the tiny fracture at the root. He was also able to pull up pictures of dental implants so I could see examples of what they looked like without having to get up from the chair. The waiting room has a huge flatscreen tv and toys for little kids. There are several dental chairs and a special "children's chair" with dinosaurs and other cute wall paraphernalia to make the dental experience a little more friendly for children. (Trust me- it helps- I am an adult who had a bad childhood experience- which probably made me fear the dentist.) Finally, Dr. Chan's office is nestled in Little Village- off of 26th street and everyone in that neighborhood seem SOOO welcoming and nice! Strangers who treat you like family! There are so many really interesting shoppes near his dental office and lots of genuine people who were really kind to not laugh at my Spanish skills. read more

I went to Dr.chan's for my big cavity next to my nerve. I went to dentist downtown for cavity filling before Dr.chan's. They didn't even want to try, but asked me to do a root canal. I asked Dr.chan's for a second opinion, and he told me that I might not need a root canal (conservative treatment). I really don't want to do the root canal because tooth will die afterwards, and you wont have any feeling of your tooth. Dr.chan's carefully opened my cavity and filled my tooth. He tried to comfort me during the process, and tried to save my money with my insurance. Dr.Chan is very knowledgeable and has skills. Most US dentists are also good but sometimes might overtreat your teeth to avoid any responsibility if things go north. Dr.Chan know what Chinese patient expects and will try to meet your needs. I wear braces and have been seeing Dr Chan for almost a year now. First, the staff members here are all very nice. I also like the text reminder/confirmations for upcoming appointments (you know it's easy to forget dates!). It's also super easy to get rescheduled. Staff's been very flexible even though this is a popular/busy place. Dr Chan is kind and knowledgable. I enjoy chatting with him and I trust his recommendations. I'm very happy to have found this place! They have reasonable prices and friendly staff! I love how they work with my schedule and payments. I went in for oral surgery and was very picky about who did it, but dr jit chan came highly recommended. I was a nervous wreck the week of, but the girl at the front desk was very helpful and informative. My visit was quite long, I felt like I was sitting in the chair waiting for my procedure longer than I should have. It was making me nervous to wait, but the super nice assistant helped calm my nerves and was helpful with my questions on what to expect. The extraction was a scene straight out of a Saw movie, but I'm sure that's usually how those go. Since then they continue to be helpful with my questions, and they deal with any of my concerns quickly. I'd definitely recommend them! read more

8 years ago we were fed up with our dentist and switched to Dr. Jit Chan. We lived in north suburb and it's a long drive to the city. But we never regret our decision, as we were in good hands ever since. Dr. Chan is super competent and super patient, making the usual "dreadful" dental experience enjoyable! He always puts our interest first and has earned our full trust. Now my family is moving to the west coast, but we may still fly back to see him if necessary. I have been going to Dr. Jit Chan since I was in elementary school, and now that I am in my late twenties, I can't bring myself to go to anyone else. I've had everything done here, from braces, wisdom teeth extractions, cleanings, and even emergency walk ins whenever I had a dental concern or infection. The staff has always been kind and helpful, and they are super accommodating. Dr. Chan has also been nothing but great with any questions I've had, and because of how professional, caring, and up to date he and his staff are, I plan on continuing to go here for any dental services.
