Honestly, I don't even know where to begin with the issues that we had with this company. I won't try to bore you with paragraphs and paragraphs of detail, so here are the highlights: * The project manager (Donovan) was so dishonest and incapable of his role as a project manager that the owner (Marvin) ended up terminating him from the company right in the middle of our project... leaving us with NO project manager and we were charged a $10K project manager fee regardless * They FORGOT to add insulation, gutters, and the required landscaping (grading) for our project to the estimate. * During the design / engineering process, Blue Line's team inserted changes in the proposal that was to be sent to the county for permitting and did not tell us about them. If it wasn't for my father-in-law catching the discrepancies, we would've never known. (ex: changed our roof from asphalt shingle to metal without notice). * Since Blue Line delayed siding installation after roof install, didn't haul away a 6ft tall mud pile right next to the addition, and didn't follow the proper grading procedures for the landscape, we had SERIOUS water damage during construction (see photos attached) * The owner (Marvin) saw the photos of the water pooling up on the floor and did not initially want to pull back the drywall or insulation to check for water damage. His said "it should be fine". I had to cease progress on the entire project in order for the owner to take my concern seriously. * When the owner came out to finally come clean up the garbage / dirt / excessive foliage out of our yard, he damaged the slab our outdoor A/C unit was sitting on. Their crew is extremely careless. * With all of these issues, you can imagine how upsetting it was for my wife and I. Unfortunately, Marvin (owner) stopped returning our phone calls and text messages because we were "too mean" and "had to take a mental break from our project". After the water damage fiasco, we did not hear from him again. We had to try and manage communication through an alternative measure. We never received project updates, and my wife and I were continuously trying to keep the project going. The owner didn't know what type of insulation to put in our roof, nor what window was per code... How does a general contractor not know this? Finally, no one ever showed up for a county inspection either. My husband and I had to figure our way through them. Anyways, if you've read this far... I apologize for the long read. I wasn't really planning on writing this review, but we hope we can save other people from hiring this company and dealing with the constant headaches and stress. Please, please do your research and know your consumer rights before you hire ANY general contractor. Otherwise you end up with a deceitful company like Blue Line Home Construction.

Anthony truly puts his customers first--he patiently listened to every design idea and change we requested and made sure we loved the final result. Once the project started, they showed up every day without delays and completed everything in just two weeks. The crew was professional, respectful, hardworking, and the quality of their craftsmanship exceeded our expectations. The best compliment is that every friend, neighbor, and family member who has visited our home has admired their work. If you're looking for an honest, reliable contractor who delivers beautiful results at a fair price, I wholeheartedly recommend Anthony and his team. We're incredibly grateful we chose them.

We had Braden as a project manager from 3 Brothers and Haley as the sales contact. We had a…read morereasonable quote for a deck with Timber Azek plank material, metal and cable railing, water proof under deck, and cedar slat under deck ceiling with canless lights. We increased the dimensions of the deck before the project started, and they were very good about accommodating the changes and the price. The waterproof deck was completed by cutting the joists and a slope and installing plywood with torchdown roof sheet on the plywood that slopes to holes running into a gutter, then placing cut angled joists back on top of the plywood and leveling it for the planks. It seems like a pretty robust waterproofing system, and they did a pretty good job with it. The overall deck was completed pretty well and good job site clean up and siding replacement. There were just some small detail issues with the job, including some loose planks and a big gap in the middle of the deck (greater than 0.75 inches when cold). There is supposed to be a gap for thermal expansion and contraction, but we were left with a pretty huge gap for part of it and the plank was on the very edge of one of the joists. We also had one of our planter boxes damaged by a truck that completed the job, which we were told would be replaced. There were also some other final questions of things around the job, for example we had a french drain maintenance inlet pipe opening and it is missing after installing some of the concrete foundation for a couple posts. I'm hoping that the french drain system that some of of the posts are over were not damaged, so I will need to watch out for that. They kind of ghosted us after the job and never addressed the final issues despite multiple attempts to contact them, leaving a voicemail and message communication on their builder site. But, they also didn't collect the final invoice payment, so I'm assuming it is the unspoken discount for all the issues. Overall, I'm still pretty happy with the deck, but will have to independently troubleshoot and fix some issues when I get around to it. From other reviews, it seems like other people had a better more complete experience.

While that was an unwelcome surprise, I felt extremely fortunate that Corneliu was the one who discovered and ultimately fixed the problem. This issue was neglected by another contractor who had done siding work previously for me. Corneliu fixed everything the RIGHT WAY at a very fair price and worked as late as 7:30pm, long after the sun had gone down, to ensure everything was done before the next storm rolled in. I'll be hiring Corneliu for a bathroom remodel later this year and anything else that may come up!

We wanted a door installed in the interior of our home. Cornel arrived, measured the space, explained the different styles, asking what we'd like. Then he went to the hardware store himself, took photos of all of the options that fit our criteria, and texted us the options so we could choose, saving me time from having to go to the store myself. He also went above and beyond by offering to fix the opposite side of the door frame, which was ugly before the project started. We didn't even think it was an option to fix that. Cornel installed the door, painted it, and fixed the trim on both sides, on the same day. The final result is absolutely perfect. It's beautiful, and the quality is stellar. We will certainly be using Smart Construction again in the future for home projects that we can't do ourselves.

Ion and Chris, project managers, met with me, listened, and came up with pricing and scheduling almost immediately. I felt the pricing was reasonable and, importantly, we quickly established a feeling of trust. After a career of running projects myself, I would give their crew the highest marks. Emily commented several times that all day long, the only sounds were uninterrupted construction noise; every one of their people worked hard, all day long. As happens, there was a flooring glitch at the bathroom door. Without hesitating, a large section of flooring was pulled up and put back properly. Their electrician, Nick, was installing the new panel when it became apparent a new exterior service was required for code. Somebody rounded up the parts and Nick worked until 7:00 pm so that Emily wouldn't be inconvenienced. They resided the front of the house and did a great job fitting around the windows and doors, but after paint, the siding material was very rough. I pointed it out to Chris, and he agreed. Cesar, their lead carpenter, came back and sanded the whole front of the house and rolled another coat of paint on it, and put a fresh coat on the door for good measure. I added a few change orders and was treated very fairly, like we were partners. Ion and Chris were always available, even on weekends and they are leading a great crew. We are very pleased with the project; it's made the whole house seem like it's new. I've already recommended them to a couple of friends.

Zack responded the same morning I requested their service and a quote. He and Carlos came out that same day, inspected the roof, and presented us with options. We ended up getting a completely new roof, and they did an awesome job. Throughout the process Zack and Carlos took multiple photos/videos to show us what they were seeing on the roof and in the attic. To say they were transparent and had great communication doesn't do it justice. Every single part of the process was laid out and they updated us throughout the whole process. It made the whole thing so much less stressful for our family. We have a 1,300 square foot house and they were able to take off the old roof (including 30 plywood pieces) and install the new one in under 48 hours from start to finish. I had just come home from work as they were finishing, and Carlos had me come up on the roof right then and there to see the work they had done before it was dark. Without getting into details on how horrific our old roof was, I immediately could tell that the new roof they had just installed was done very well and properly. As a first time home owner this was a very stressful situation, but Zack and Carlos made it worry free for us. Their work and customer service are A1 -- we highly recommend them.
