This is a must have if you want to save your sanity and buy some time back. Seriously.. imagine not having to worry about dinner, washing dishes and knowing you're getting the nutrients you need. It's expensive but worth it. My husband and I were able to focus on the baby and the chores without having to worry about our meal. I've done extensive research on postpartum / confinement meal delivery service and decided to go with JingMommy instead of the other 2 competitors in the area based on flavor of food and the prompt replies to questions I inquired about. Food: 5/5 The soups are the highlight. Ingredients were traditional and packed with flavor. It reminds me of soup that my mom/grandma used to boil for hours. It doesn't seem like they skimp out on the ingredients. They're also not too salty and feels balanced. Lots of different styles, but FYI a lot of the soups are pork based so you'll get a lot of pork knuckles & pork ribs. You'll also get a lot of sesame chicken soup. The dishes are flavorful and nutritious though some dishes are not just for confinement purposes like walnut shrimp, pork chop and diced onion beef. (I'm not complaining as these tastes good.) we got the herbal package and the herbal/healing drinks were fantastic! You typically get Hawthorne or a variety of drink made of red dates & goji berries. The veggie selections were good and they weren't bland at all.. very tasty. Some of the rice varieties like salmon rice is a bit mushy though. Eggs were OK, they all kind of taste the same. Desserts were nourishing, I think they are good for milk supply. Some of the dessert includes peanuts, black sesame, red bean rice and scones. It's a lot of plastic though, I just wished maybe they can use eco friendly packaging. Delivery was also smooth, they arrived to my area around the same time every delivery. Service: 5/5 Patricia is a large part of the reason why I chose JingMommy over the two competitors. Price is similar between the 3 but the level of service that Patricia put into caring for me makes me feel it's less of a transaction but a relationship. This personal touch is NEEDED especially for first time moms who doesn't know anything and want a human to talk to away from all the ai fluff. Guidance is nice during postpartum. Whenever there is an issue (like if kitchen messed up on order or delivery problem), I will text Patricia and she'll reply within the hour, sometimes even minutes and she'll even call just to make sure the problem is resolved. Even on a Sunday and even on the evenings. You can tell she really cares for her customers with years of experience and because of this, we decided to extend service from 14 days to 31 days. In fact, we plan to extend beyond 31 days since we're satisfied with her service and the food. Papaya good for milk supply.. etc. some fish is good for body recovery. Frozen Postpartum meal Delivery Review Amazing company!! Honestly I don't understand how they're so efficient and accommodating. Patricia responded to me within the hour at all hours of the day (not expected but appreciated) and guided me through the ordering process and what to expect for shipments out of state. There is SO much food and a good variety as well as taste. I loved the you fan and the soups, and especially the desserts, but the entrees were mid (husband ate them and liked them). I looked forward to my meal every day. Since my meals were frozen, one month's order actually lasted me 6 weeks and I was able to easily push back the delivery date a couple days before the scheduled delivery date each time. I also asked for no veg or egg dishes since I didn't really want to eat those frozen, and they were able to accommodate. This was the postpartum gift that I didn't realize I needed. My in-laws got me a 28 day postpartum meal from Jingmommy. This was the most helpful gift because I didn't need to think about what to eat each day. The portions were extremely generous, where sometimes my husband could eat my leftovers. At first, I was worried that the flavors would be too herbal, but I got the classic meal and it was like homemade comfort food from a traditional Chinese restaurant (not like a takeout Chinese restaurant). One watch out is you definitely need a lot of freezer space because they ship these meals when we at a time. We have a second freezer, but it would fill up 1/3 of it since each day includes one beverage, two soups, two entrées, two vegetables, two rice, one omelette, one breakfast porridge, and two desserts. We live in Chicago, so they are able to ship anywhere on the US. They text you each week before shipping, so if you do need to delay a week if you're not able to get through all of the meals, they can work with your schedule. Preparing the meals were super easy. Each food was individually, packaged, and labeled. You just cut it open, put it in a bowl, and use your microwave "cook frozen entree" setting to cook. While the price is premium, when you are getting it shipped, the convenience and quality make it very worth it! I had a good experience with Jing Mommy. They were very flexible to work with me on different packages since I didn't want some of the carb heavy dishes. Highly recommend doing the trial to see which dishes you like, don't like. Because you're going to be eat ALOT of those same dishes. Would recommend for anyone who's looking to make their postpartum life a little easier! I came across a few postpartum meal delivery service when doing my research and ended up with JingMommy due to their customer service. I opted for the 30-day meal without medicinal soup. The price tag seems high at first, but when you do the math plus factoring in not having to worry about having nutritious food especially if you are breastfeeding, the money is well spent. They have other meal delivery options also (less food, shorter time period, etc.), but they incentivize you to opt for the 30 day service by waiving delivery fee and throwing in a few freebies. I had a wonderful experience with Patricia who helped walk me through every step of the ordering process. She was kind, honest, and transparent about what to expect and what my options were. I am American-born Chinese (ABC) but I was very nervous about trying organ meats as I've never had them in the past, and these meal plans are a financial investment. I didn't care for the pork liver meat itself the first week but found the soup itself fine - Patricia was kind enough to call and explain that there isn't a way to sample the pork kidney for week 2 beforehand, but suggested chopping it up and cooking it with sweet soy sauce to see if my kids will eat it so it doesn't go to waste. I have a pet peeve about food waste, especially if it's expensive food/delicacies, and I appreciated her practical suggestions! Overall had a great experience with Jing Mommy and especially Patricia for answering all my (and my family members') initial and subsequent questions around the food, herbal ingredients, etc. I sampled other postpartum services, and can say this was the only service where I actually wanted to finish all the sample dishes. The food quantity was good, I almost always had leftovers, there were lots of protein (if you include the meats that were in the soups), and food quality was pretty good. I tried a different company for my first postpartum experience and can compare that both services were about equally neutral in flavor (not too much salt) I believe this is probably on purpose as overly salty food isn't recommended shortly after giving birth due to the water retention. Some of the dish pairings were a bit unexpected (bbq chicken wings with stirfry veggies and rice or seafood pasta bake with boiled veggies and rice), but honestly wasn't a big deal for me as it satisfied protein, carb, and veggie categories and food still tasted good separately. The veggies alone were bland (and usually the asian veggies that I wasn't always a fan of), but pairing it with the move flavorful entrees made it easier to finish. The meats, especially those found in the soups (chicken, short ribs, pork feet, beef), were all surprisingly tender! I definitely always finished my entrees and soups almost without fail. I remember also looking forward to the Friday sticky rice dish and weekly red bean with mochi sesame balls dessert :) If I were to recommend my friends to any postpartum experience, it would be this one.
