Yay, got our Christmas karaoke on! Went Dec. 2025, rates for 2 people, no reservation was $25/hr. We decided to last minute add 30 more minutes which they allowed for $15 additional. We got a small room but big enough for us to get our sing on. Even with the door closed, you could still hear others singing, but when you start singing, you can't hear others anymore lol. We sounded pretty professional with their sound system lol. Honestly, I picked this spot on a Saturday night cuz of the name, and I thought of Jin From BTS hahah (army here!). It's quite outdated inside. Mostly wood paneling. The bathrooms were ok....not the best but does the job. It's cool you could bring your own food/drinks I believe, but no alcohol?? Might wanna double check that. Otherwise, we had fun! The numbering to enter the songs on the pad were fairly easy but we did have to ask the korean lady working there to disable the perfect scoring for the non-english songs since my friend wanted to sing Japanese and korean. At first, we couldn't sing those songs. Overall, I don't mind being back. But I might give Bobos a try too which is in the same strip mall. We did go earlier on in the evening, right when they opened around 6-ish. But they sort of get more packed as the night progresses.

We came here instead of class. Our friend recommended it and we AMBIANCE: Parking: Welcome to Convoy... it gets packed! I get good luck with street parking. Seating: Rooms can accomodate maybe 10 people (comfortably), possibly 15. Vibes: Welcome to Convoy! It's a popping place for good eats - get some work done, hang out with friends, or karaoke! Though there are many spots, this one stood out due to its affordability and access of food. The vibes were pretty typical - karaoke room, dimmed, with random background videos play as you sing. The info is generally in Korean sooo good luck. FOOD: N/A - It's bring your own food! CUSTOMER SERVICE: Awesome! We had some challenges at first but they were helpful from switching our rooms or helping with the control system. TL; DR OVERALL: 4 Stars. We had a great time here! Reasonable price, ability to bring your own food, and reasonable music selections. My only suggestion would be if they can update their song choices. Aside from that, if you're looking for a reasonable spot to sing, check this place out! TIPS: * Come early to prepare for parking.

I'm here basically once a month because I am a karaoke fiend. The place is a bit run down, but it has a gritty feel that I enjoy on a night out. Service really just depends on who's working, but honestly, you're just here to sing so you won't be interacting with the workers much. I only get food if absolutely necessary- overpriced and not that great. Definitely one of the best deals you can get for private room karaoke in San Diego.

Fun, fun fun! It was my first time, officially, at a Korean karaoke and I loved it. Went once in my 20s in NYC but they were closing so we didn't stay. This time I enjoyed this one so much that I extended for an extra hour. The representative showed us how to use the remote. Once we got the hang of it we were singing as many songs as we could. It was like our own personal concert. Lots of popular songs, songs in English, Korean, Chinese (Mandarin, I believe), Japanese and Tagalog! They even had mic covers and cleaned the rooms in between each group of guests (immediately after each use). Food was available for purchase but was not a requirement. They also allow you to bring your own food. There were rooms based on party size and we had a microphone for each one of us. I had so, so, so much fun!!!! I can't wait to go back again. It was an awesome birthday treat and the last event we did before it turned midnight on my birthday. Definitely recommend! Thanks Jin Music Studios!

The girls and I were down the street having dinner celebrating the retirement of one of our colleagues and we all had the itch to do some karaoke. After calling a few places and being disappointed the other places were fully booked, we were surprised this place had no wait. We all walked down to Jins since we knew parking was not going to be easy, but the area is relatively safe so we walked as a group. They had a room ready for us, a party of about 8 gals. The place was relatively clean. After a brief introduction to how the karaoke machine worked we were ready to sing. There were plenty of songs that we all knew. We actually were surprised that there were plenty of Tagalog songs that we knew too. Flipping through the song catalog, I saw they had a number of other languages too. Either eat before or after, cuz the place has slim pickings on food and drinks. They had soju but it was pretty sweet, but it worked. So if you have the itch to sing your heart out with your friends last minute this place will satisfy your needs.

Barely walked into the room.... They had the mics! And we had Soju! Such a good time!

The food was actually quite good with large portions and reasonable prices. We ordered the cucumber salad, it was very flavorful with garlic and cilantro added. We also had the spicy pickled fish which was also very good (just wish there was a little more fish). The beef noodle soup was also surprisingly good and had lots of noodles. The staff didn't have the most friendly expression, but they were helpful when we asked for anything. The ambiance/decor was trendy and the place was very clean. It didn't seem very busy even on a Saturday night, there only seemed to be a couple groups singing in the private rooms. The rooms also looked to be a good size with nice decor when we walked by.

We ordered a bunch of food: Taiwanese beef noodle soup, dried noodles, popcorn chicken, fries, fish tofu skewers, fried rice, cucumber salad, and shredded potatoes. We liked everything except the shredded potatoes. The large screen, mics, and sound system were great. We struggled a bit with the screen, as it was in Chinese so navigating to songs/artists was a bit of a challenge. There were also limitations to the songs available. It would've been nice if we could just pair up our phones. Service was good, our server came in to check on us, making sure our water pitcher was plentiful. There was also a tray of complimentary fruits and chocolates, which was a nice touch. We had a lot of fun and would come back!

This time it was the post-party following the Elite Event: Halloween Prom at Tin Roof in downtown San Diego. Rock Out Karaoke takes the stage and continues to provide the perfect atmosphere for fun audience-fueled performances. My gamer past thinks back to the video game Rockband, where we took turns singing karaoke and playing toy instruments in front of the living room TV to a playlist with decades of pop hits. The game now sits in storage, but aspiring vocalists can continue their craft of singing with a live band, playing and providing backup vocals to your lead. I am not a singer, even as a hobby. I am still recovering from a cough & cold where I lost my voice, but after several rounds of liquid courage, I kinda wanted to give it a go. After listening to a few performances and doling out well deserved high-fives, a gal mentioned that the live band performance aspect was a completely different experience to the typical lounge scene. She really enjoyed it and would definitely do it again. I think it would be helpful to the fans and groupies if their schedule was easily found on their main website page. If it's there, I missed the link. My bad. I don't FaceBook, so I'm not looking there either. Just sayin'. I read someone else's review about ROK's limited playlist. While I am easily impressed with the band's repertoire, I could see how discouraged a potential singer would be if a favorite karaoke song is not available. Maybe expanding the library to include more classic and current songs wouldn't hurt. Ready for the main stage? If you enjoy karaoke and energetic music performances, then consider Rock Out Karaoke. There's nothing else quite like it in town. Doing it ROK style might leave you breathless, but you'll love the unique experience.

I was happy to hear they offered karaoke too so my friend & I put our name down for a duet (the iconic HSM, "Breaking Free"). Upon coming to the bar, there were a few other groups but it wasn't crowded yet. It was about 30 minutes later, and several more people had come to the bar now. My friend went up to ask the guy (leading the karaoke) a question. At this point he tells her: "well, I already played your chosen song an hour ago...and it's the same crowd, so...". There wasn't a conclusion if he was asking us to choose another song or if he was just giving his personal opinion. We also simply disagreed that it was the same crowd as an hour ago, and also I didn't realize there was a rule about playing the same song per hour? Given there wasn't a conclusion from the conversation, my friend & I decided to keep our chosen song since we were looking forward to singing it. 10 more minutes passed and we were next in line. My group came up to the stage to get ready for when we were called. But then, we were skipped! The audacity! Someone else from my group went up to address why we were skipped. He said "I just won't play that song!". Honestly I'm wondering if he just had a personal issue with that song lol. Like bro just play it for three minutes and make the customers happy? Since we were upset about his power trip, we took our buisness to Redwing. I am happy we made this move. I will say, the drink pitchers are worth the money & the bartender was nice. The cup pong was fun entertainment.
