I've been going to every Chinese place in a 30 mi radius bc k travel for work and one thing I can say is Jin Jin is in the top 5% of them in the area. Of course in this area the certain type of southern person isn't really into the better dishes from canton and Szechuan. Perhaps it's just dependent on what you order but most of our food was subpar. 2 of us ordered the sesame chicken. It appears to be the same sauce as the sweet and sour pork, which my husband had and liked. I've never gotten sesame chicken anywhere else with sauce like that. It was also almost entirely tasteless and the chicken pieces were hard. My son got the fried shrimp and rice. The batter looked burnt. On the positive side, the crab Rangoons and egg rolls were OK. New in town and wanted to try out the local businesses before heading to a fast food chain. Service was fast and pricing on the menu was okay. Ordered white rice combination plate of shrimp lobster and for $9.xx it had only 4 shrimp. Put on 4-5 packets of soy sauce and could not taste the soy sauce. Blaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. Horrible. My first and last time to get food from here. When you walk in, one of the worker's kids sat at a table to the left. He was watching movies. He had toys all over the floor. Closer to the counter was a wet floor mopping sign laying flat on the floor. A definite trip hazard. The two women working the front counter walked pastit several times. Looking up, the tiles were water stained everywhere. They replaced some tiles with multiple cardboard boxes. The AC vents were dripping water onto the dining tables. Their supplies were rt outside the bathrooms and anybody could walk up to them and lay their hands on it. don't know how a health inspector would allow this place to remain open. Hell, i might call them. I ordered despite my better judgement because in Milton, Fl, this is the only chinese place. The chinese lady was rude to the woman that took my order. She didn't do anything wrong. The chinese woman couldn't read the writing on the order slip. I looked around. There were four other people that ordered before me. They were waiting and waiting and waiting. Everytime somebody got their order, staff were having to apologize for the wait. Sad. They even apologized to me when i got my food 30 minutes later. I don't understand why it took so long, there were 4 guys cooking. Anyways, i got the food home and the family began to eat. Immediately my son dumped his food in the trash and made speghetti o's. He loves chinese but not this time. My 2 daughters stopped eating the orange chicken and beef and broccoli. All they ate was the rice. When my wife and i ate, we noted that the beef was like soggy styrofoam and the orange chicken was a dark brown color that tasted like beets. The egg rolls were clearly cooked in old oil. I just moved to Milton and so far, this is my favorite place to eat! I LOVE this place! Fast, friendly, great food. They tell you fifteen minutes and you have your food in three. Finding a good Chinese place is always difficult when you move to a new town. Jin Jin was my first go. The delivery was quick and accurate even considering the large order we placed. And the total bill was pretty cheap. On to the food: The Beef and Broccoli was hot and flavorful. The Sweet and Sour Chicken was good but I had to heat it up in the microwave. There were no peppers and pineapple chunks. That is big for me. The fried rice was bland and the pork was tiny and barely there. And I judge fried rice on color. It should be brown. This was yellow. The Wonton Soup was bland even adding soy sauce didn't help much. Speaking of sauces; they provided plenty of Sweet and Sour and the rest of the condiments were abundant. The boneless spare ribs were definitely flavorful but tiny strips were a turnoff for me. The Crab Rangoon was good. Hard to mess that up. As was the Fried Wonton with meat filling and Fried Chicken Wings. Finally the egg rolls were ehhh. I really struggled giving them only 3 stars, but it came down to the little things which I'm quirky about in judging good Chinese food. This is a small town with a few other places to try out. If I could give a 2 1/2 star, I would. We ordered takeout for dinner last night and everything was either OK, slightly less impressive or disgusting. The portions were standard. They certainly didn't make any extra effort to bless you with a few extra pieces of anything. We are new to the area (military family) and will most definitely be trying out the other 2 Chinese restaurants in town before we return to Jin Jin's. Below is a list of items we ordered and our opinions of the dishes. I hope you find this review helpful. White rice - delicious! Moist and sticky, just the way we like it. Chicken fried rice - Slightly dry and lacking salt for flavor. Beef lo mein - Good, noddles were cooked perfectly. Beef was tasty. Crab rangoon (cheese wontons) - Filling was on a sweet side which is not our favorite Sweet & Sour Chicken - Completely unimpressive. Served lukewarm at and fried in a tempura batter (our least favorite styles of preparation). Void of flavor. Sweet & Sour Sauce - Processed and completely gross. It was a neon orange chemical soup with no flavor. Pu Pu Platter - Almost every dish included was dry, dry, DRY! The spring rolls (pre-made but still tasty) and crab rangoon were the only exceptions. Fried chicken- Tastless. Boneless Rib - Do not order! Despite the fact that it was marinating in a sauce the meat was dry as parchment paper and dyed (with food coloring??) the most disgustingly artificial redish-brown color. I should add that the upkeep (or lack thereof) of the facility makes me question the cleanliness of the place and the customer service is terrible.
